Worst resort experience yet
Pros:

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Hyatt Regency Danang.

I chose this resort specifically because it’s marketed as a family-friendly place to relax, but my very first night here has been completely ruined. There was a loud wedding event taking place with extremely high music levels that made it impossible to rest.

What’s unacceptable is that we were never informed at check-in that such a large and noisy event would be happening. Had I known, I would have made a completely different decision. Instead, we were put in a situation where my child couldn’t even sleep due to the noise — and as a parent, that’s not something I will ever compromise on.

By the time we realized how bad the situation was, it was already too late to change rooms, and the damage to our stay had already been done. This is not a minor inconvenience — this is a complete failure in providing a basic expectation: a peaceful night’s rest.

For a resort of this standard, this is incredibly disappointing and frankly unacceptable. I am requesting a full refund for this night and expect the hotel management to respond and address this situation properly.

I hope Hyatt takes this feedback seriously because this experience has fallen far below expectations.

Beautiful resort situated between Danang and Hoi An
Pros:

Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa is an excellent place to relax on one of the most beautiful beaches in Danang. This is a huge facility with a modern low rise architecture situated on Non Nuoc Beaches between Danang and Hoi An, a stone throw away from Marble Mountains. The facility has all amenities and restaurants that fits everyone, from solo travelers, couple, families and large groups, seeking to rest and relax. A definite gem in Danang.

Good hotel, slightly underperformed for me
Pros:

Emacculate hotel with spotlessly clean and high end rooms. Amazing on the beach location and a short taxi ride to the city if you want it. I would say however that having to wait to be seated for breakfast is unacceptable at such a high end and expensive hotel. I also thought that the poolside service was sometimes slow and rather expensive, with VAT and mandatory service added after the fact. We had a good time at this hotel, but we expected a lot going in. Slightly disappointed but overall would return.

Outdated and not luxurious
Pros:

I am extremely disappointed with our stay at Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa.

We checked in yesterday, and the most accurate way to describe this property is simply: outdated. There is nothing modern, luxurious, or particularly relaxing about the experience. It’s difficult to feel comfortable when the room is filled with visibly worn and damaged furniture—chipped surfaces, peeling cabinets, and finishes that make everything feel unclean and sticky.

We booked a two-bedroom ocean view residence. I had read prior reviews mentioning that the property felt dated, but we decided to take a chance. Our initial preference was a villa or three-bedroom ocean view residence, but those were fully booked. We had hoped to upgrade upon arrival, but unfortunately the hotel was at full capacity, leaving us with no alternatives.

The condition of the room is far below expectations for a five-star property. The TVs are small, the furniture is heavily worn, mirrors are damaged, cabinets are peeling, and even the toilet seat is broken. Soundproofing is also a major issue—we can clearly hear conversations from the floor above us, along with the constant scraping of chairs, which is especially disruptive at night.

The one bright spot has been Kelly Van at the front desk, who has been kind, responsive, and genuinely tried to help us find a better room. Unfortunately, due to full occupancy, nothing has been available.

We are traveling as a family—my husband, our 17-month-old daughter, and my parents—and chose this resort largely for its family-friendly amenities. While there are many activities for children, most are geared toward ages 4–12, and several come at an additional cost. For families with younger toddlers, the offerings are limited. The resort is very large and relies on golf carts for transportation. However, wait times can be long. Walking (my preference) isn’t practical either due to the heat, and the fact that golf carts share pedestrian paths (a golf cart nearly hit me last night).

We considered staying at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort (but decided against it due to its remote location) and Pullman Danang Beach Resort (which, in hindsight, appears much newer and more modern). We ultimately chose the Hyatt hoping it would exceed expectations and offer strong family amenities, but that has not been our experience.

Having stayed in many five-star hotels and resorts around the world, I can confidently say this property does not meet that standard. At best, it feels like a basic Airbnb that is clean but far from luxurious—which is disappointing, because if that’s what we wanted, we would have booked one instead of a so-called five-star resort.

A subpar Regency experience
Pros:

The Hyatt Regency in Danang is beautiful, with a private beach, clean/spacious rooms, and fantastic amenities. However, our stay fell short of our expectations for a Regency tier hotel.

For starters, we booked an "ocean view" king room with Regency Club access. But upon entering the room, the view was 75% of another villa and 25% of the ocean (you had to go out onto the balcony to see the ocean). I would've accepted this view if it was marketed as a "partial ocean view" from the start, but the Hyatt website didn't mention this and the pictures are deceiving of the view you might actually receive. This room also had a few issues, one of the drawers under the fridge wouldn't open all the way and there was a persistent high pitched ringing (similar to microphone feedback) coming from the speaker inside the closet. They weren't able to fix the drawer but were very quick to fix the speaker (they just disconnected it).

Given all of the problems, we requested another room with a better ocean view and they were able to accommodate but only on the next day ( we still took this offer). We were told to pack our luggage so they can move it for us while we're away and expect a text once the room is ready the next day, however we never received a text and I had to follow up manually to confirm. The next day, we swapped room keys and were told that our luggage has "already been moved" to the new room, but upon entering the new room our luggage was nowhere to be seen. A quick call to the front desk resolved this, but it took them about 15 minutes to move our luggage over. This miscommunication is just the start of our larger complaints with the resort communication that I'll elaborate further on.

On our last night, we arrived back to the hotel rather late and called the hotel ahead of time to confirm if we were allowed to order a Grab delivery for food. Over the phone they said yes and all the driver had to do was tell the security guard the room number and they'll let them through to the front desk. Unfortunately this was far from the reality. Once the Grab driver arrived with our food and told security the room number, they didn't let them through at all. When we asked the front desk what the protocol was, they said that we would have to go down to the security gate, pickup our food, and ask them for a quick golf cart ride up the driveway (which is different than what was told to us over the phone). Upon walking down to the security gate and mentioning that, they said they don't call golf carts rides there because the driveway is too short. So we essentially had to walk down to the security gate to pickup our food from Grab. The walk down the driveway isn't terribly far, but if they had let us know that was protocol from the start it would've prevented all the back and forth with the front desk, security, and the Grab drivers.

This hotel is in a beautiful location but suffers immensely from internal miscommunication. One person tells us one thing and another one says something else without talking to each other first. This creates a frustrating experience for guests, and is far from the experience that a Regency tier hotel should be offering.

On a brighter note, The Regency Club here is one of the best in the world. Fantastic food, variety, and options. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, coffee, and cocktail hour during our stay here.

An amazing resort with great service. Vegan friendly too.
Pros:

This is a really great resort with excellent facilities. Located between Da Nang and Hoi An gives easy access to many options for sightseeing or dining. E.g the Marble Mountains are within walking distance. The personal service was so well done. Our host, Luna, made sure our stay was memorable. The most impressive thing (along wih Luna arranging a birthday cake) was having special food made up at the Club Lounge for vegans. Plenty of meaty options for me too.

The ultimate resort
Pros:

Exceptional. Happy with my choice of resort for our holiday. Went with my husband, but we would both love to bring our toddlers back (so much for kids to do there, but travelling without kids it was also perfect!).
While the value for money, accomodation, staff, and facility wise was exceptional (we had breakfast included - it was amazing), we never ate at the restaurants outside of breakfast and we never used the Spa services as they were quite expensive (only compared to local restaurants and spas a short drive away). We were happy to pay for a Grab and drive 10 minutes into Danang for exceptional and cheap food (there’s nothing in short walking distance from the hotel). If the weather was better (it rained a lot unfortunately), we would have definitely ate and drank at the restaurants throughout the day while lounging by the pool, but unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to.
The staff there are lovely and polite, the grounds and gardens are immaculate and well taken care of. It is a beautiful resort and I truly can’t wait to go back again!!
