Deep clean needed
Pros:

The photos on the website and the reviews.

Cons:

The whole place was filthy. Cobwebs creeping across the ceiling. Skirting boards, woodwork, walls, carpets, mirror, etc. all dirty, dusty, smeary. Bathroom sink... oversink light... caked in dust,
around the plughole and overflow it was black and gungy. The toilet pedestal was filthy.
The mattress was just a piece of foam with a piece of material over the top.
The telly was barely the size of a computer monitor.
The whole place needs a deep clean and then employ some cleaners.

Dirty Dump.
Pros:

£63 was far too much for such a dirty place. Tried to tell the woman on the desk but not interested. Don't be fooled by the photos on the website. Walls, woodwork, skirting boards, light switches mirrors, over sink light, etc. absolutely filthy. Full of dust. Tried to get the cobwebs down as they were creeping across the ceiling. The plug and overflow in the bathroom sink... filthy. Around the base and sides of the toilet... filthy.
Apart from that, the smallest telly ever in a room. Barely the size of a computer monitor.
Obviously didn't want to pay to have breakfast unless we could see if the kitchen was clean.

Pros:

Location to town is very good. The proprietor is very helpful but unfortunately is let down by the facilities and cleanliness which leave a lot to be desired. The hotel and rooms are tired and dated. If you are looking for a cheap stopover it is perfect, but not for a visit for a number of days.

Cons:

The beds are very firm and the condition of the furnishings leave alot to be desired. I agree the cost of our stay is reflected but the hotel should be off higher standard irrelevant of the price.

Pros:

Great location. Breakfast is good value for 5 pounds. That hotel allows dogs. Ten pound per night pee dog. Have stayed at hotel twice before and though knew was basic happy. Always had good customer service.

Cons:

Stayed in room 5 and room 6. Both rooms had a draft from window. As windows needs replacing. The shower in both rooms was luke warm. We stayed in hotel two nights. On both days was same. The hotel is good value. You should be able to get a warm shower. We stayed over easter weekend so was cold. Got out of shower shivering. It was the customer service on last morning that upset me to be honest on last morning. We had breakfast which is only 5 pound per person. But lady servicing breakfast was rude when brought my breakfast out. The egg was broken and I asked if could have it replaced. For runny egg. Her comment was you have already asked for more hot water and bread! So no didnt replace it. Then waited another ten minutes for hot water and bread. Had to ask again for it. Was told it was coming. But then given just hot water. No bread. Asked for hot water as tea that we were given for two. Was in a small tea pot for one. So you only got half a cup of tea. Plus the water was cold. Though breakfast only 5 pounds. It is not worth it. I would not stay again sadly because of the customer service in the morning. Was quite upset on leaving.

Cheap and clean if a little shabby in places
Pros:

Our room (in the garden wing) was very spacious and had its own patio garden. It was clean and well equipped. Out of hours access was easy and if the small car park is full there is plenty on street parking nearby.

Cons:

The 80s decor was pretty shabby and in need of refurbishment - especially the en suite bathroom - but everything worked and presumably this is why the room was so cheap so we didn't mind.

The pillows need replacing, they were very lumpy, but we still slept well.

Pros:

Friendly owner

Cons:

Tired room, scruffy looking. Pictures made room seem so much nicer than what we got. Bath water not very hot. No water in mini bar fridge. Loose floorboards under carpets making floor bounce when walking on felt unstable. Thin curtains, exterior lights going on and off during night, very annoying.

For the price, can't complain
Pros:

This is unbelievably cheap, I actually only stayed there for an hour because I just wanted a nap. For amount charged per day, Not really a lot I can say about it.

Cons:

It screams, bates's motel😂. My nan would love the decor, however she's been dead 30 years and taste has changed. The place could do with redecoration
