A lovely hotel with character
Pros:

Check in is at another hotel 100 metres down the road. Very easy. The hotel itself has a lovely entrance and our room had three big windows overlooking the canal which we loved. There’s a roof terrace for guests…gorgeous views and comfortable seating. I recommend!!!

Cons:

We had to cancel one of our rooms and it took a lot of calls and in fact months to receive the refund

Unexpected hotel change, but it was quite ok
Pros:

First of all, for some reason we were accomodated in a different hotel - Hotel Canal instead of Ca' Dei Polo, so my opinion applies to Hotel Canal. I read many bad reviews about this hotel, but after all it wasn't that bad.
- location is very good, close to the Piazzale Roma
- we got a room with a nice canal view
- room was partially refurbished (new furniture, wallpaper etc.). Bathroom was not refurbished though.
- as a compensation for a hotel change we got a breakfast inclued, which was served in Hotel Walter just around the corner. It was quite ok
- nice and helpful staff

Cons:

- hotel change to a hotel with worse reviewes without any prior notice
- air condition was not working or barely working
- the bathroom needs renovation
- they collected city tourist tax for my 7-year-old children, while children of that age are exempt from this tax. I had to go to the reception and spend like 15-20 mins to discuss it and eventually get it back.

Avoid at all cost
Cons:

We’ve been completely scammed. We were checked into a rundown 2-star hotel instead of the one we actually booked, yet we were told it was an upgrade. When we tried to complain, the staff pretended not to understand us and refused to help. The room had some insects — we even got bitten during the night. This place was nothing like what was advertised and felt extremely dishonest and unsafe.

Great location. No other positive comments about hotel.

Cons:

No wifi for 3 days
Bathroom had mould over shower curtain
Bed linen was extremely old, thread bare and frayed.
Room was tiny
Breakfast at a different hotel
Couldn't use safe in room unless a deposit was paid for use.
Very confusing trying to find entry in to the hotel because the reception area isn't at the said hotel, its at a different hotel around the corner

La persona alla reception, quando ha visto dal mio documento che venivo da Roma, ha fatto delle battute molto spiacevoli e inopportune. Assurdo e mortificante, incredibile che ancora succedano cose del genere.

Confusing at most. Staff was a bit non chalant but somewhat helpful. Property of stay and check in is not the safe place. We had to drag our luggage to another area to check in. Recommended to those that travel lite and can move around easily

Pros:

Nos encantó que habíamos reservado en un lado y como no se que pasaba en ese lugar nos cambiaron al hotel Canal, justo enfrente del canal principal y la ventana daba a ese bello paisaje.
El chico de la recepción nocturna muy amable y bien predispuesto, el desayuno q no nos correspondía y nos lo Iron igual completisisimo. Todo excelente. Lo recomiendo y volveria
