Lovely staff who let us into the room a bit earlier before heading out again. The inn is very quiet and you wake up to the sound of birds. It was also lovely to see the sea from our window. The room was big, comfortable and warm.

Lovely staff and setting
Walking back to the hotel in the dark
Because the rooms offered were not next to each, this was frustrating. However the team immediately solved this with a folding bed, clean linen, all sorted in minutes. The next day they apologised again and provided a lovely breakfast. The hotel is clean, welcoming, the bathrooms good. And the views are lovely.
The rooms were excellent, large and well equipped.
The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble
The outside looked a little run down, but the inside was lovely, the owner explained he had been renovating from the inside first
We stayed for one evening, 3 couples and our German Shepherd. The rooms were lovely, very clean, spacious, with lovely views. We dined in Cartmel in the evening, however, breakfast was lovely - great choices available. All of the staff were fantastic, really helpful and they even gave us a lift to - and back from - the restaurant we ate at as taxis are a bit scarce….! 😊 All in all a lovely hotel and stay. Would we go again..?? ($64M question). Absolutely. (Thanks all…!).
Very friendly attentive staff - beautiful clean rooms - loads of space - dog friendly and fantastic locally sourced food. Relaxed atmosphere in bar and lounge area made for a lovely family meet up - dogs included. Highly recommend Uplands.
Well located within walking distance of Cartmel village (although quite an uphill walk from the village. friendly staff, comfortable room with a beautiful view to the sea. Excellent breakfast

Room and restaurant were cold. We had to ask staff to sort the heating out. They obliged, but at that price you’d expect this to be sorted as a matter of routine.
