The history of the pub and it's age

breakfast was good
The room was dimly lit, large furniture made it seem smaller than it was, needed general refurbishment. A shelf in the bathroom would have been useful
The breakfast and dinner were really good. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
Our room being above the bar, we expected some noise which ceased after 11pm, but we had to close the window as people were smoking below. The bed was extremely uncomfortable as were the pillows and the mattress was too small for the bed frame.
Nice single room with good standard en suite. Clean and warm.
Nothing
Friendly, helpful staff and delicious food in a very traditional setting.
Corridor noise late at night - not the hotel's fault, just inconsiderate guests.
Lovely old building, food was very good, comfy bed.
Very loud bagging front door
Friendly and efficient staff.
The room was very spacious and conveniently placed. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding.
Fabulous Sunday lunch here at The George!
It was a filthy day weather wise & we were fortunate enough to get a table for Sunday lunch.
The service from the staff was excellent & very friendly waitresses ensured that we were well looked after.
The roast dinners were delicious and amongst the very best that we have come across.
We enjoyed it very much and will no doubt return again very soon.
Although there are works going on at the pub, this was a pleasant stay over Christmas. Friendly staff, comfortable beds and powerful shower! Was perfect while we had Christmas with family up the road!
All fine
The delightful staff and tasty food.

The breakfast was perfect as was the food in the restaurant. This is a 600 hundred year old property so some things are wonky but this adds to the charm we would stay again all staff were very friendly and helpful
If I had to fault one thing it would be that the bed was a bit to hard for me
Cooked breakfast
Very noisy not much sleep which was much needed for the catch-up and long day ahead due to revellers under the window in courtyard, 7am beer barrels delivered once again in the courtyard
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were very welcoming and made the stay pleasant.
Great breakfast with quality ingredients.
