Lovely old fashioned room in fastastic and friendly bar. Really good value.
Nothing to dislike, but wouldn’t suit all. Room is a bit dated and rough round the edges, but fine with us and hey, thank goodness not all places are modern and slick…
Bed was very comfortable, whole building had lots of character, staff were really nice, location was perfect for my itinerary
Location was great and decent pub. Park8ng across the road was very helpful.
Hidden charges for having a pet. It should be clear in the pricing. Having to use a metal fire escape to access between 12 midnight and 10am was not great.especially as our room window opened onto it. Also the kitchen noise was loud and the extra fan is bolted to the external wall at the bed headboard position so the constant droning was a bit of a pain. Avoid room 4 is my advice.

Convoluted way of getting out of hotel between 11 and 8 in the morning.
Location was great. Allocated parking space. Meals were good although no breakfast offered. Bar staff were helpful.
Room was uncomfortable. Towels and toiletries were not routinely replaced. Had to ask bar staff. Room cleaning was sporadic. Noisy at times but this was expected as room was above main bar.
Amazing stay!! The room was incredible, four poster bed and a big window with doors that open wide overlooking the garden (and a view of the castle) Room and bathroom were clean. Fresh towels, kettle etc all great condition. Perfect location, staff were accommodating and so so friendly! The pub downstairs was lovely, so cosy and rustic. Parking was great, with a space assigned to your room number. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return in the future.
The bed was a bit small although we booked a deluxe 4 posted bed. Bathroom could do with an upgrade. It looks a bit tired. But overall great stay.
The location was great and the staff were welcoming and attentive. Our room was big and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the cosy vibe and eccentric decor in the pub. Dog friendly was a great bonus too!
Only one down side was the public toilet smell in the passageway for guests to use out of pub open hours.

This place should not be classed as a hotel. There are only pub staff around and facilities i.e the pub when the pub is open. Once it’s closed you are restricted to your room the door to the stairs ‘ a fire door’ is locked with a note to say ‘ in an emergency call ….’ So guests are required to leave via a back stairs fire escape into a grotty alley and the emergency fire exit door is kept open otherwise you wouldn’t be able to reenter. The pub did not open till 1200 and again the only ‘staff’ are the pub bar staff who are busy in the pub - no where to go when it’s shut!! Weird but in my view not a hotel.
The staff were friendly and the location is really good. I like the parking across the road from the hotel. The food looks good. The bedding was clean and the shower was hot.
The floor in the bedroom was not clean. I found a black serviette and a crisp under the bed. I found the staircase carpets to be old, dirty and certain chairs in the bar dirty and worn. The bar seating area needs a good clean, this makes a person question how clean everything else is.

Location was brilliant that’s a good as it gets. We would never stay here again as it’s very dated and needs some TLC. I thought I had booked B&B had to go to the next village for breakfast with a 25% discount which we did not like the breakfast. The WiFi was none existent. In the morning could not get out of the hotel had to go out through the fire escape as we were locked in upstairs and no key to get out

If anything I’d say a larger tub or at least a smart tv. But nothing major

Lovely quaint hotel, stunning room lovely staff own parking a bonus, menu could be better we ate at 8.30pm and some dishes never had, bit strange exiting the hotel via a fire escape the morning after but all in all its a beautiful hotel and would definitely stay here again
