Great budget hotel ideally placed for the ferry port.
Pros:

The room which we had twice (one night before our ferry to lreland and one night when we returned before driving home to Essex) was clean and functional and about right for the price we paid.

Cons:

The bed. I heard more boings and groans from that bed which had clearly seen better days. The bed linen was clean and fresh but the bed itself left a lot to be desired.

Low staff problems and a defensive attitude spoilt what could have been a good stay.
Pros:

1st day breakfast was very good. Nicely cooked.

Cons:

The service was slow due to low staff numbers.
2nd day we sat in the restaurant with a number of other tables while 1 poor member of staff tried to take orders and cook the meals themself. It was a complete disaster. We left and had a breakfast in a cafe.

A lovely stay
Pros:

We stayed the night before getting the ferry and the hotel is perfect for what we needed.

Although it’s dated (and it states as such) the room was perfect, clean and comfortable which is just what we needed for an overnight stay

Friendly local pub B&B with great food, nice rooms and peaceful sea front location
Pros:

Friendly, nice clean and bright rooms, sea views, good en suite and bed, fresh towels etc. Food was great and pub quiz fun.

Cons:

No complaints at all.

Pros:

Excellent location just a few minutes from the ferries. Good dog walks from the hotel. Staff were really lovely and helpful. Very comfortable room with views of the sea. Very good evening meal.

We had a short stay, and wished we could have stayed longer.
Pros:

The Boathouse is an older style hotel which was recently remodeled by the new owners. The staff were great, and the place was very clean. The restaurant was especially nice, we had both breakfast and dinner there and it was outstanding.
