As a solo guest , I was made to feel very welcome even though the staff were busy with weddings !!
They organised taxis for me !
Wonderful breakfast and a charming place to stay with so much history
Beautiful old house with lovely garden. Service and food were impeccable
Absolutely lovely hotel- really friendly staff, great food, amazing building, perfect!
One of the most expensive hotels in West Yorkshire still riding on the fact that the Beatles, who I simply love, stayed there 60 years ago. Beautiful grounds and building from the outside and ample free parking. Terrible decor which is very tired. Internet simply did not work in the rooms and the bathroom was terrible, shower head was past its best by about a decade.
Welcoming and warm - complimentary glass of mulled wine and mince pie on arrival and a lovely warm clean room. Staff are kind and thoughtful. Will definitely stay there again when in Halifax.
Lovely hotel and really good staff. Very happy with our short stay.
I would stay here again.
Staff were incredibly polite and helpful throughout, engaging before and during our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well provisioned. Breakfast was swift and delicious, made for an easy morning prior to departure. Taxi to the Piece Hall only £7-8 each way, ideal for a quiet place to stay on the edge of town.
Beautiful stay
It was all just an amazing experience.
Staying at the property is like drinking in history. I loved being here, but there are severe staff shortages and some glitches in the service quality.
We stayed for one night to go to an event at the Piece Hall. The hotel and room were lovely and breakfast was excellent. It was also quiet despite there being a wedding elsewhere in the hotel.
Friendly helpful staff, interiors and exterior of hotel are very well kept, overall a very comfortable place to stay.
one night stay, staff very friendly and helpful, nice lunch in the garden.
Great location and a nice hotel. Comfortable room, though a bit noisy as you can hear people milling about in the night. The food and drink is expensive for what you get (£9 for a basic sandwich and £3 for a soft drink). Otherwise it’s a good choice.
This hotel is beautiful, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They’ve decorated it amazingly well for Christmas, it’s so cute. Eric the cat is a legend. Breakfast choices were very good. 5stars from us. Loved our stay here
Very friendly staff and good service. Room was small but clean.
Bed was comfortable but the quilt was of a higher tog making it to hot for a summer night.
Overall nice place to stay.
The hotel is beautiful in the common areas. Our room was okay, but the bed was really uncomfortable.
Quite a walk to our room . Lots of other guests with children and dogs running arround . Lots of noise in the coridors especially earlly morning. Next time i will not accept a ground floor room
Overall the stay was ok. On this day there was a wedding, we stayed in room 31, with the windows facing the parking lot. There was a lot of noise until late. Dinner was good, we liked the quality. In terms of accommodation, the bed was not so comfortable and the room was very hot, we had to open a window where all the noise from the wedding came from. Breakfast quality could be better
