Modern hotel in a convenient location
Pros:

Clean, modern hotel rooms and convenient location. Soft water and great water pressure were much appreciated.

Cons:

Pillows and mattresses were not the most comfortable. Did not like the sausage patties at breakfast, prefer link sausage or crispy bacon. Coffee was great!

Clean and great breakfast
Pros:

I was looking for a reasonably-priced hotel in the area. Primary considerations were cleanliness, safety, and good mattress. I was worried based on another review about car break-in.

The room was typical Hampton Inn-clean, and I had a great night of sleep. View was head-on traffic so it’s not a garden spot. I will say this was the best HI breakfast I’ve ever had!! I usually skip but it was great. Suggest a few other tea options besides Lipton. Special thanks to Nancy at the front desk.

Note to Hilton: please stop making all the Hampton Inns so generic. It feels borderline sterile at this point.

Great clean hotel with lovely staff and a good breakfast.
Pros:

It was so clean and we enjoyed the spacious room with good bathroom facilities. Sink was outside the shower and toilet which aids morning preparations. Melania who worked there was very helpful helping me to carry luggage into the room after check-in. Also the location next to I-95 was so convenient.

Great proximity to the hospital
Pros:

Great proximity in regard to the hospital. There is a restaurant within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great.

Cons:

I know the economy is tough but it was a bit pricey. I am a seasoned traveler and I know how pricing works.

Nice Hotel but, Police Ignore Crime There
Pros:

This location is super close to I-85. Very convenient. The hotel itself is wonderful. Great staff. Clean room. Good breakfast and coffee. The reason for my rating has to do with the safety of their location and parking lot. I stayed 2 nights and on the second night my truck window was smashed along with two other trucks in their parking lot. The vehicles were privately owned, state owned, and company owned. When we called to report the incident to the Durham Police, we got no response. Even though dispatch said an officer had been dispatched, no one showed up ever! We waited for three hours!! The police never even contacted the hotel for their video footage. So, if you stay or spend time in Durham, they don't care about you or your property, only those tourism dollars you spend mean anything. I will not be visiting any time soon. The hassle, headache, and no care response of the Durham Police let's me know everything I need to know. Perhaps this is normal for the property. Perhaps the police keep arresting the same person or persons and they just turn a blind eye now. Either way, I have checked out of the hotel and have left the city not to return. Stay any where but Durham!!

You have been warned!

I did not leave valuables in my truck. I never do. But in these near single digit temperatures, with another snow event pending, yes, I am very angry about the lack of response for the Durham City Police to a multi- vehicle incident in their city.
