Golf View Hotel

I travelled from the Kingston Airport, one week after hurricane Melissa. Got a private driver and the drive was unevenful, as the hurricane, had not hit the city of Kingston, I traveled to the Golfview hotel in Mandeville in the parish of Manchester. First time, ever staying in that region of jamaica. I have to admit, that upon first approach, I was a bit hesitant, as the hotel did not meet my expections visually. But, and I have to say, but, was I in for a surprise.
My first encounter was with Lafaye, the front desk receptionist. She was extremely pleasant and personable and I felt at ease. She offered me a free upgrade and I eagerly accepted. She handled my reservation well and after a gruelingly long trek, I was happy to see that she was confident in doing her job. This one is a keeper for sure. The room was nicely proportioned and I was pleasantly surprised. I had no complaints. Mr Bailey, took my bag up to my room. A very nice young man. It was a very heavy bag, as it had food supplies that I had bought for the victims of Melissa. He didnt complain, but I am sure he felt the weight, as the handle had dislodged itself, during transit.
My next person of interest, was Askera. I kept calling her Reshika, and she answered to it. I dont know why. she was so pleasant, every time I saw her. Always smiling with a little dimple on the left side of her cheek. Definately, another keeper for sure. I saw her dealing with a difficult customer one day, while I was perusing the internet in the foyer, and I have to admit, she had the patience of Job! Kudos on a job well done!
I also met the general Manager named Mr Smith. A man who was sincerely concerned about the customers and employees he served. We spoke for a bit, and I was able to decern that he was an authentic and genuine person. He did share, when I asked him, why he seemed a bit uptight, he admitted that his mom had just passed. Whew. Thats a heavy one. And even more concerning was that he was still in attendance on the job. I saw him every single day of the seven days I was there. Now in America, that wouldnt be the case, so I have to applaud him for being dedicated to his job. Whoever owns this hotel, please note that he is another keeper and that this is a dedicated individual!
I had a free breakfast everyday, which considered of jamaican ground provision and eggs and sauages for the Americans and British. I enjoyed, the mackeral and coconut as I had never had that before. My compliments to the head chef, mr gordon for the beautiful jamaican meals he has been preparing. Many thanks to tracy, tabitha, nadia and definately to Mr Jermaine who served quite a few of the mornings. Many thanks also goes out to the following staff members. The young man from maintenance who took the time to help with my tv. He was a smaller man, but thin in statue. didnt get his name. Shantel, for being patient with me in the lounge regarding the chicken burger and fries.
This place I found had so many wonderful staff, I honestly was surprised. Thank you guys for a job well done....

I flew all the way from the UK to Jamaica expecting a beautiful and well-organised wedding at Golf view Hotel, but sadly, the experience was far from what I hoped for. My changing room wasn’t ready before the wedding as promised — it was two hours late, which cut my time short and left me rushing through everything I had planned. When I asked the front desk for help, they were unhelpful and simply mentioned that there had been a party beforehand, which is completely unprofessional when you have a wedding scheduled with a year notice!

The event manager did not do his job properly and showed little care or effort in ensuring things went smoothly. The whole experience felt disorganised and stressful when it should have been joyful.

To make matters worse, the general manager was not present on the day. When I later spoke with him about my experience, he was rude, disrespectful, and refused to take accountability. We had agreed that I would receive 35% back due to the poor service, but he later changed the agreement and claimed I had agreed to something different.

I am incredibly disappointed. After travelling all that way for what was meant to be one of the happiest days of my life, I was left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and let down. I truly hope Golf view Hotel improves their professionalism, honesty, and communication so that no one else goes through what I did.

When I arrived at the property at 10:30 pm I selected a king size bed they told me it was unavailable and I got two small bed for my husband and I - went into the room the AC did not work and there was ants all over the floor - requested a room change waited over 45 mins at 11: 30 pm now to get a room change that room was filthy as well- there was music playing loudly till 2 am.
Worst stay ever

I like the fact that it’s close to everything supermarket, hospital gas station clubs.

I hate that when I got in late from a all day function I couldn’t take a shower the pipe was dripping and no hot water .
The tv couldn’t change channels. Very rundown

Great value for a non resort hotel. The customer service was excellent and the food was great. The staff went above and beyond

This was my second time staying at Golf View and the stay was very pleasant and will definitely be my spot when I visit home.

Fabulous staff, especially Natalia, very accommodating. Food and service is A-1. Would highly recommend.

Room was very clean , there's a bar and restaurant on the property, security the gate, the only draw back was i was there's no elevator abd i was on the third floor, also when i checked out , i had to wait for them to check the room for damages before i leave even though my card had a hold on it just for that purpose, but overall I had a great time, will definitely visit again

Wonderful time! Staffs are very professional, friendly and helpful.

There was no hot water, WiFi, safe or kettle in the room. The room is dated and the bedding and pillows were uncomfortable.

The food was good but not remarkable. The only good thing about my stay was the staff were warm friendly and welcoming.

My family and I stayed at this hotel recently for 5 nights while visiting family for a wedding. I am giving stars because the hotel was clean and served free breakfast and brunch which was nice. There also was a nice pool. I’m taking off points because I had no Internet in the room which was extremely inconvenient, there are no elevators and the hotel was under construction.

The property itself needs some TLC. They started and some rooms have some great features but I think they weren't well planned out. Like twice I've stayed in 6 months and light from the corridors enters the room and straight to the bed which kept me up. I fixed it by taking a towel to the gaps. They curtains could also be better at blocking our the light.

This trip I had no internet access so it was an issue connecting back to the office.

But the food is great and the staff is friendly and always ready to assist. I mean we talk as if we know each other since forever.

Big up to to Jessica, Kedene and Lises from room service! They're great guys! Tip them and I hope the management values them. Demeka from the upstairs dining she's awesome also. I don't really remember the names of the front desk agents but they're pretty chill too. And Daysha from Latitude - she's so Soo friendly.

So while the property is upgrading and still got some ways to go in ironing out the kinks. They staff made it so great that you could not even feel uncomfortable - they helped in every way they can.

It's a must stay if you have business in Mandeville or Manchester and you need to stay a couple nights.

I don't get good service no TV no internet even ask them to move me from the third floor I was sick they didn't move me I move out before my time I have to go to family member before I leave I couldn't take it no longer and I leave for my family came back here into America service was poor so they owe me one night money

TV service and WiFi not working, refrigerator was not clean or working, broken draws, old furniture need new pillows and sheets. Didn’t inform us that WiFi wasn’t working or the tv. Poor management and service

My stay was well spent at Golfview. I have absolutely no regrets making this choice. The place has a "homey" feel to it. I needed a place that is clean, felt safe and comfortable with a great ambiance. Golfview provided all of the above with the added benefit of a great lounge to hang out and have a drink or to eat sumptuous meals on evenings along with and excellent complimentary breakfast choices on mornings. I highly recommend Golfview Hotel in Mandeville for your vacation while in Jamaica regardless of length of stay. Above all else, the hotel is very much affordable for the array of benefits that are provided. Looking forward to a return soon. Big up to Golfview and its wonderful staff!

Had to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to the room.
Had no hot water for a shower water pressure was non existent. Had someone outside my bathroom window on the 3rd floor making repairs to a broken water pipe- Front Desk only called after men were already working. Blasting loud music inside the compound Friday night until 11:00pm, don't even think of getting any rest from 5pm-11:00pm. The highlight of the trip was being awaken early in the morning by crawling bugs -yes termites all over the bed and floors. I brought some to the Airport with me -we were killing termites that were crawling out of our luggage. Left a message with Shane when we checked out to have a manager call me- Still waiting on a call back from the manager. I would never stay at this hotel again. Observed bunch of keys left unattended by cleaning staff sitting on a chair - Hotel Staff was friendly and accomodating. Food was ok.

Ovall the service was Excellent

I enjoyed my stay at the Golf View hotel. Easy accessible to the local shops, supermarket, malls, resturants, local hospital etc. Excellent service provided👍!
