Would stay again
Pros:

Nice room with great views. Very convenient for New St station

Cons:

Unfortunately the air con wasn’t working in the entire hotel. Fans were provided but it was a very hot night.

Ok - wont necessarily go back again
Pros:

Breakfast room views were amazing

The hotel design is interesting

Practical to reach from the station

Cons:

The aircon did not work in the room

The rooms were very hot

Considering the aircon situation had been mentioned in previous reviews the hotel should have done something to correct the situation

Pros:

Nice large room with good facilities and a comfy bed.

Cons:

On check in we were told that the AC was out of order and had been for a few days - I think the hotel should have advised us of this before our stay so we could have changed our hotel. The TV was also not working. A fan was provided but the room was really stuffy.

Shame about the TV situation and hope it is resolved before my next stay.
Pros:

Superb room and great breakfast.

Cons:

Not possible to watch ordinary channels such as BBC/ITV. Not advised when we booked in so wasted a lot of time trying to work out how to watch with two staff members coming to the room to eventually be told only way to watch was through UTUBE so not possible to watch what we expected to see.

Disappointed.
Pros:

Location and member of staff on reception.

Cons:

When we arrived we were told the air con wasn’t working, or the TV. We went to the room, but far too hot and stuffy.Fan provided didn’t work properly. An hour spent waiting to see if another room available. Changed rooms, this one cooler but still no air con/TV. By the morning very stuffy with no air coming in. Very frustrated as it hadn’t been working for a week, but we weren’t told until arrival - after travelling from Cornwall. 20% discount offered.

Just don’t
Pros:

The location is great and after we said we can’t stay in the booked room without a working AC we got moved to a room where we had a balcony that let us have a door open for a nice draft. Receptionist was friendly and really tried to make it work for us which I appreciate. Nice view from the room.

Cons:

Well. As so many have stated, it’s all quite run down? I’m not sure why this hotel is still open 😅 upon arrival we were told the AC has stopped working, as well as the tvs in the room. We were offered to cancel our room and look for another hotel or take a look at the room to see if we still want to keep the booking. The room was AWFULLY hot I have no idea what person could stay in there. No airflow and the fan was just blowing around hot air. We asked if there were any rooms where we could open a window and were offered one of the suites. Very spacious and being able to open the door to the balcony helped! HOWEVER we were made aware there was an event right above the room and it could be a bit louder until roughly 1AM. No problem we thought. In the end it wasn’t too loud until it turned 4AM and someone started rearranging the whole event room upstairs for almost 2 hours 🤣 it was impossible to sleep. The hotel overall is in bad shape. The photos do not represent the state it’s in. The AC clearly hasn’t been working for months at this point, so you’re just being lied to when checking in. I feel sorry for staff, absolutely incredible to think that management just seems to expect them to lie to customers faces. Anyway, just stay away, it’s not worth it.

Very delicious, comfy and enjoyable stay
Pros:

Booked this hotel as it sounded quirky and had fab views and an excellent restaurant with even better views. In reality there was a bit of quirkiness but not as much as other 'Cube' type hotels I have been in, although they have made a good effort. Views were stunning from the restaurant and the meals (dinner & breakfast) I could not fault. Staff were lovely too, particularly at breakfast. Continental buffet had lots of variety and great to have the hot part served to the table, I had fried eggs with runny yokes with my full English, all prepared fresh.

Cons:

Only reason I am marking this down was the noise at night. I stayed on a Friday night and to be fair there are signs to warn that on Saturday & Sunday there may be noise from the top floor where there are parties being hosted. The thump thump of the music was very annoying whilst I was awake. Thankfully I can sleep through most things and it didn't disturb my sleep, it just made it unpleasant to be in the room until that point. This was the 23rd floor, so 2 floors below the party floor.

Awful hotel with broken air conditioning
Pros:

Appalling hotel. The air conditioning has been faulty for over a week but they have continued to run the hotel and did not bother warning guests of the problem. My room was stifling, far too hot. Fans were provided but they were noisy so sleep was impossible. I was offered a refund but I arrived too late in the evening to find anywhere else to stay. I now have a splitting headache.

Further to this the room had a dirty carpet and chipped furniture.

Dreadful experience, do not stay here.

Pros:

Location and the staff were very friendly

Cons:

We checked in at 9pm on 4th June
There was a fan in my colleagues room and the room was hugely hot and uncomfortable.
I called reception and was told that a manager would call back.
I called again and was told that I hadn't spoken to anyone and that the aircon was broken in all rooms bar 4.
I was told it cannot be fixed and was asked if i wanted to check out.
As a female traveller at 9.30pm in a city, this is clearly not an option, that was the only solution given.
The poor lady on reception is clearly in a fix and should have told us prior to checkin but told us she was not allowed to let guests know in advance that there was a problem.
She said she has asked to be allowed to send emails to the guests and to inform them on arrival, but has been told no.
She has suggested to management that they just close the hotel.
She was upset and tried to be as helpful as she was able.
Add to this the tv did not work in either room and the guests shouting and swearing in the corridor for over an hour after 11pm, it was not a good night.
It must be noted that every single employee we encountered was incredibly warm and welcoming and are an asset.
It turns out the hotel is in administration.
