Basecamp Spitsbergen Hotel

I love the interior decorations in the field of the overall experience. Great staff.

Basecamp is a stunning property and gives the authentic feel of a base camp ie no tv, phones, or wardrobes in bedrooms. The breakfast had great variety and eggs Benedict was a popular request. The only downside for me as a sole traveller in a triple room was that I had to pay the full price. There are no facilities such as a sauna or pool - but this is the high Arctic so I'm not sure if any accommodation has these facilities! Staff were wonderful - friendly and super helpful.

We loved our stay here. It is a unique place — much more interesting than a crowded hotel. The breakfast was extraordinary, the staff helpful and friendly, and I would stay there again.

Ett helt fantastiskt boende som passar bra in i miljön ! Rummen har en interiör med känsla att bo i en hydda/jaktstuga men med samtliga bekvämligheter. Väldigt bra frukostbuffé !

Very special place to stay in Svalbard. .

Wonderful and cosy comfortable place to stay. We had a 5 night stay and would have been nice to have had our room serviced at least a couple of times but not once?.? Bathroom a little too small, i struggled in the tiny shower cubicle. Beds excellent and super cosy! Breakfast very good.

Unikt sted med fantastisk beliggenhet, vi kommer garantert tilbake og kommer til å bo på samme sted. Hele familien storkoste seg der.

Det som virkelig stod ut var betjeningen - både i resepsjonen og i frokost salen - det var fantastisk hyggeligenog hjelpsom. Vi kommer helt sikkert tilbake

Stemningsfullt lite hotell i gjennomført stil. Vakkert interiør, god frukost, hyggelig personale, varm atmosfære.

Longyearbyens beste hotell - på alle måter.

Vi er et par med voksen datter som valgte dette hotellet for en langhelg på Svalbard. Vi er utrolig fornøyd! Veldig hyggelig betjening, spennende rom og god frokost. Dette var i september, så det var en svært stille og rolig atmosfære på hotellet, noe som passet oss godt. Vi velger definitvt dette hotellet neste gang på Svalbard!

Meget bra betjening som ga oss god info om Svalbard

The pandemic doomed our Wedding Anniversary travel to Svalbard and in fact we never made it.
Though we had a “nonrefundable” reservation, we were unable to —reschedule—(they are not the same thing!!!) our plans we had travel insurance. We wanted no reimbursement. We just wanted to set a new date. Our Finnair flights plans changed several times, making our stop on Svalbard not possible.
Our disappointment was great. Basecamp, which really does look amazing!!!, would not allow us to reschedule on our original booking. Basecamp offered to send a letter about our not staying in the hotel and so I forwarded that to the travel insurance, which was to no affect..

We were out a thousand dollars and felt there was no recourse in sight.

I really only write positive reviews. This planning was just a victim of Covid and even though I was “vaccinated” (travel insurance), I still got sick (charged the full amount).

Koselige rom og god frokost.

Veldig hyggelig betjening, super service og sentral beliggenhet. God frokost og nærhet til alle fasiliteter. Kan absolutt anbefales!
