This used to be a great place to stay in Santiago, especially because of its beautiful and unique architecture. Unfortunately, the experience is not what it used to be. The staff was friendlier in the past, and the overall service seems to have declined.

The biggest issue was the extremely unpleasant smell in the room, which was similar to insecticide. It was so strong that I had to open the windows, and the staff brought a fan to help ventilate the room. When I mentioned the smell, I was told that I was probably sensitive to their cleaning products. However, this was far beyond a normal cleaning-product smell and was simply intolerable.

The staff was okay, but the response to the situation could have been more understanding and proactive.

It's disappointing to see a place with such beautiful architecture and character fall short on basic comfort and hospitality.
