It is absolutely an honour to stay here.
Pros:

This was my first time to Penang and this unique historical setting took me back in time as well as to a new country. The elegance and beauty were beyond expectations. You could get carried away with the surroundings but what is the quality of the stay? Well it is equally amazing. From the man that welcomes you at the gate with a beautiful smile to the reception staff, who will help with anything you request. (In my case sending postcards back home.) The rooms are clean and so many little thoughtful ideas are added. (Thanks to the efforts of Hoque) The daily turn down service was unique each evening. At breakfast we were treated like guests to their home by Jalal and his colleagues. In the evening enjoy a drink from Shobor who is great behind the bar. This hotel is unique in making you feel like you are at home. This is maybe because it was a home in the past. But the current custodians are welcoming guests on a phenomenal level. I would like to end with the queen of the house. Ginger the cat who is an absolute delight to see roaming and ruling her house. I will be returning .

Cons:

Maybe the only area that needs improvement is the pool. The location is by a busy road, although hidden from the road. It’s noisy and the pollution from the road affects the water.

erg mooi hotel, wat meteen het mooiste museum in George Town is.
Pros:

Erg mooi hotel dat in het huis van de ooit rijkste man van Azië zit. Interessante geschiedenis en erg vriendelijk personeel. De dagelijkse rondleiding van een uur in bij de overnachting inbegrepen.

Cons:

Het zit wel aan de rand van het stadje, dus je moet iets meer lopen. Verder is de boot om in George Town te komen "digitaal" gegaan zodat het zonder passende bankpas - mits die het dan doet als buitenlandse reiziger - onmogelijk is om mee te varen. In Maleisië zijn ze helemaal mal geworden met digitaal gaan.

Это место где живёт душа настоящего Пенанга, это история, архитектурная эстетика, торжество геомантики, , великолепный дизайн и ода Шинуазри
Каждый день туда стоят очереди и это того стоит
В первый раз не попали сюда из за солдата, во второй раз попали на несколько часов и полностью очарованы этим местом
В ресторане подаётся ужин от шефа, обязательно попробуйте
В отеле ведутся экскурсии но они не мешают и не проходят в жилой части
Это великолепное место, если вы приезжаете в Пенанг то обязательно к посещению

Belle nuit dans un musée
Pros:

La chambre est tout simplement superbe, nous avons l'impression de dormir dans un musée. De part son coté musée et ouvert au visites extérieures cela peut peut-etre géner la tranquilité même si la partie guest est normalement pas accessible.
Le petit déjeuner est un peu limite par rapport au standing de l'établissement, pas de viennoiseries, pas grande variètè de pain, pas grand choix de fruit frais

Pros:

Stunning location with a great historical story to it. Guided tour was complimentary and was great.
Lovely staff. Great atmosphere. Wonderfull breakfast. Everything perfect!

Cons:

Don't have your laundry done there. It's ridiculously expensive compared to anywhere else and not in proportion to the other costs, because apart from this, price-quality it is great!

Wishing we could stay forever!
Pros:

This is an exceptional historic hotel with some modern comforts — including excellent beds/linens, showers, and outdoor pool area. Service is friendly and efficient. It is within walking distance of all major sights in Penang and there is an excellent street food court with live music down the road. We are wishing we had never left!
