Great value
Pros:

The in-house onsen was good and free. As usual in Japan, the staff were very polite and courteous. Rooms were a good size for Japan. This Route-Inn hotel sensibly offered an 'eco' option such that in exchange for not having clean bed linen and towels every day we were given two free beer tokens each - for two people so four beers (from a vending machine) - a good deal given we only stayed for 3 nights. Why some other travellers hotels in Japan don't do something similar is strange. The two ART hotels we stayed at for four nights earlier on this holiday each changed bed linen and towels every day - such a waste of water and energy in this day and age. So well done Route-Inn.

Cons:

The included breakfast was OK although there were no non-Japanese options such as muesli and decent western style bread or decent coffee, but my main criticism is that the hot food, in bain-maries, was not at all hot - usually tepid. If the breakfast price hadn't been included in the room tariff I would not have gone back for it on the second and third days. The free coffee machine in the lobby made half decent coffee though.

It is a basic hotel. The rooms are small but clean, and this was reflected in the cheap price.
Pros:

The hotel had a good bath. It had washing machines and seperate dryers, so we were able to wash our ski clothes. Some of the staff were able to speak English well. It was a good location ,close to train station and with free parking for our car. Restaurants were close by (walking distance) and offered an authentic Japanese experience.

Cons:

The breakfast is average. Kitchens in cold climates should ensure the hot food remains hot and supply warmed plates for hot food. The quality was average. The breakfast time was busy. The rooms and bathrooms are quite small. There seemed to be only one lounge area but the sign said no eating or drinking in this area.

Pros:

朝食が美味しかったし、朝食会場のスタッフさんもフロントのスタッフさんもとても気持ちよく接してくれました。
宅配便を利用できてとても便利で助かりました。
お風呂場があり、家族みんなで入ることができてとても良かったです。
