Noticed lots of baby cockroaches moving around. The bathroom sink was cracked. The pillow was too blown up, not a good quality.
The sea view ONLY
old style but reasonably comfortable. please buy a new printer. I was delayed.15. minutes at check out while the poor lady at reception tried to print the invoice, in vain
The property is in great location easy check in and checkout. The property is old under Reno the noise is excessive. The check in and check out is easy and staff were helpful
My stay was mixed. In the first half of the stay I had an ‘upgraded’ room on the 4th floor because the tool I was supposed to use was being refurbished. The room was tired and dirty. The bed uncomfortable and worn out. The fridge had a sludge in the bottom that 3 days later still hadn’t been cleaned up.
On my return I had a refurbished room. What a difference. Clean, modern, comfortable.
When I checked in there was no water in the room. I asked for some bottled water at reception. They offered me some ‘filtered’ water but claimed only the housekeeping staff could issue bottled water. So I went to the store along the street and bought some.
Oh and the lift broke down on two occasions.
Not cleaned properly, dust everywhere, found small cockroaches the first day, could easily smell smoke from the smokers next room, mini dridge not working, location of hotel is pretty nice though
The quality and service are not commensurate with the fee.
Recommend that you do not choose this hotel as you will be waste your time & money.
It has got cockroaches
Not good. That is not a hotel, it’s basically a room, which was very small, you can barely move around.
Well never recommend this place
Definitely it’s no palace, hence its name
I have paid for single room and arrived 23.50 pm at the hotel. They said I had not paid, they didn’t find the reservation and it took them one hour to give me a room as walk in, when I had previously paid for the room
Comfortable
It was a nice and quiet place. Staff was helpful and was generous enough to keep my bags for 4 extra hours after checkout. The rooftop restaurant and bar was super awesome. Room was ok except that the AC in my room was not working and was not responding to the remote. Not a big deal as it was not hot. But something the hotel should make sure it works before someone checks in.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sea Palace Hotel in Colaba, Mumbai, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I stepped foot into this vintage hotel, I felt like I had traveled back in time to old Bombay.
The hotel's location is simply superb, overlooking the Arabian Sea and just a stone's throw away from the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel. The check-in process was swift and hassle-free, contrary to some reviews I had read. The staff at Sea Palace Hotel were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable.
I had the privilege of staying in a sea view room, and it exceeded all my expectations. The room was impeccably clean and fresh, and the space provided was quite generous. The bathrooms were also well-maintained and spotless. Although I had booked breakfast, I unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to enjoy it. However, the staff was incredibly accommodating and understanding of our situation.
I stayed at the Sea Palace Hotel for a total of five days, and I can confidently say that I will choose this hotel again for my future visits to Mumbai. The price I paid for the excellent location and top-notch service was definitely worth it. The managers and staff at Sea Palace Hotel truly believe in the mantra that the customer is king. They made us feel welcome and treated us like family throughout our stay.
Lastly, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Sea Palace.
The Sea Palace Hotel is in the most amazing location overlooking the harbour and 2 mins walk from the Gateway to India. Lots of shopping and excellent places to eat and drink in the vicinity. Also the hotel had its own roof top bar/restaurant which is lovely in the evenings. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Mumbai. I already recommending this hotel to my friends. Thank you Sea Palace Hotel for a most remarkable stay in Mumbai. And a special thanks to D’Souza the front of House receptionist. From Rahul and Penelope
No frills hotel but the bed was comfortable, the AC worked and there was running hot water. The room was plain and small. The sea view room that we booked was not available (despite having called and confirmed a day prior) but they did provide a smaller non view room. Breakfast was good. Location was excellent.
Good value for the price. Convenient location close to Gateway of India. Breakfast is good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms could use a bit of an upgrade.
Good location.Hotel OK.Food very good but very expensive especially the beer
Poor service , terrible rooms they need to renewait the rooms . The paints were chip . Every were there were spider webs and bothrooms were horrible in place. All the furniture was out dated and Air conditions was in bad conditions. Rooms were having nasty smell . Breakfast was ok the good part of Breakfast was the serve you fresh omelets on the table of your choice.
Overall very very bad experience .
The hotel is right on the seafront; it is quite rundown, and the room was very basic, but the beds were comfortable. The breakfast included omelettes cooked to order and various Indian dishes. The great location, sea-facing window, and warm, helpful staff made our overall experience very pleasant
The location of the hotel was really good as it was next to The Gate Way of India and Taj Hotel. Hotel has 2 restaurant, one on the rooftop and another in the front- both facing the sea. Hotel entry and elevator will make you feel that the hotel is old but rooms are fairly upgraded. Staff is really polite and quick in service. Breakfast was a bit disappointing because of less number of items but food quality was fine. If I would ever come back to Colaba, I would definitely book it for its true value for money and location.
