I was looking for a hotel in Saigon to stay with my 16-year-old son and, unfortunately, I didn’t research enough before booking. One of the biggest disappointments was discovering that the rooftop pool was 18+ only, meaning my son could not use it at all despite being 1.8m tall and travelling with me.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere at reception felt very cold. We were welcomed with a cold tea, but there were no smiles or warmth from the staff. After settling in, we went upstairs for drinks and food and, again, the service felt unfriendly. We were also asked to pay the bill immediately even though we were staying at the hotel, which felt strange and unwelcoming.
On our third morning, I arrived for breakfast at 9:37am and, before I had even reached the dining area, I was greeted with “Good morning, breakfast is until 10.” I only eat fruit and yogurt in the morning and was finished within minutes, but the interaction made me feel rushed and unwelcome. The following morning, I chose not to go for breakfast at all.
The spa area also did not match expectations. It is advertised as being open until 10pm, but when I went at around 7:30pm there was no one there. The jacuzzi was cold rather than warm or hot, and the pool was also very cold.
The worst experience was on the morning of check-out. I became extremely unwell with chills, fever and vomiting and could barely get out of bed. I did not want to inconvenience the hotel by asking for a late check-out, so we packed our bags and went downstairs. I asked for a glass of orange juice because I was trying to replace fluids and electrolytes, and I explained that I needed to sit down because I was feeling very weak. I was simply given the bill and told to go to the lobby if I wanted juice. I sat visibly pale and unwell at reception for around 30 minutes while my son went outside to find me something to drink, and not one member of staff asked whether I was okay or needed any assistance.

Location is excellent for wandering around District One. Great rooftop pool with awesome views and a good cocktail list. Long Island Iced Teas hit the spot.
The room flooring needs an upgrade. They are a bit old and worn.
