Disgusting Hotel - booked and paid for overnight stay with young children due to length of airport layover.
Hotel cancelled booking 40 mins before we were due to arrive, we now are stuck in PVG Airport for hours with nowhere to sleep.
How can a hotel take your money and then cancel booking like that - shocking absolutely fuming!
.
Absolute terrible hotel. Aircon not working and stuck on 26 degrees. They told me they cannot adjust the temp because it is winter!! I made the grave mistake of staying at this place twice. Never ever again. The reception was apologizing and offered a fan.
Very nice hotel
No good restaurants around the hotel
Good , very clean and close to the airport. Keep in mind no restaurant on property.
The hotel was really nice and modern and room was fantastic. On the downside there was horrendous noise during the day due to construction and I was trying to rest. Also the staff speak little to no English.
I had to stay here as my flight was cancelled. I was told I had to share a room with a stranger or pay for half the room. Staying with a stranger is not appealing as it is not safe. The hotel would not budge on the matter and was down right rude! Then starting at 7:00 am, pounding of construction woke me up and continued until I left for the airport at 10:00 am.
Cannot recommend this hotel and I hope I never have a canceled flight where I have to stay there!
I was picked up from airport transfer was arranged by airline , when i reached hotel no greeting i was straight asked for passport and 200 rnb deposit which was refundable i was given a room 83078 , i am sharing couple of photos of my room i dont need to say anything else after that about my experience, i hope hotel management will follow up with housekeeping & maintenance staff .
This hotel was a freebie transfer hotel given during a China Eastern lay over so shoulden't be too ungrateful - but! The only thing International about this decaying place was the name. English was completely absent - apart fortunately for one notice in the lobby that gave airport transfer times. The room, which was as far from reception as the airport and required dragging wheeled luggage along thickly carpeted hallways, had no documentation - in any language. Not only were the unusually meager facilities a mystery but no Emergency Evacuation notice, which usually graces the back of the entry door existed. Calls to reception were unanswered and the long haul back through the long lonely corridors was prohibitive. The dining room for breakfast again had no explanation of the many offerings and the friendly staff were unable to understand the most basic queries. A friendly reception desk would have eased the discomfort but most unfortunately the gruff staff there were perhaps the worst feature. China Eastern's offer of accommodation for long transfers is a positive but if you have a choice avoid this place.
I spent a night here and hotel has well furnished and stylish rooms . There is no one to take your baggage to your room and soft carpet on corridor make it difficult to scroll the bags , so try to get rooms near lift. Except for a girl at reception no one understands english . So mixed experience as food was good and bus that takes you to airport is punctual and takes exact same time as driver tells .
A value for money hotel, having latest door locks with led display of room numbers.
We stayed here as part of transit with Hainan Airlines. The most problematic part was the airport pickup but that I blame on the airline. We had to go upstairs to the airline service counter who then sent us back downstairs to door #27 but it turned out we had to cross to the island. All of this was unmarked. They rely on you calling the driver directly on your cell if there is a problem. In this case the driver did not have any record of us but reception fortunately did when we reached the hotel. I must say we speak Chinese and I am not sure how they would expect non Chinese guests to navigate this part.
We had pretty low expectations based on prior transit experience elsewhere but the room turned out to be quite nice and clean and comfortable. There are two restaurants and we only had a buffet breakfast which was quite satisfactory. You book the return shuttle at check in and it was fairly smooth. We did not go anywhere else.
We got a free hotel voucher during a transit in Shanghai. When we arrived in Shanghai, we were greeted by a China Eastern Airlines staff. Probably due to some miscommunication, we could not find her after picking up the luggage, but fortunately, we asked some nice locals to call the number on the voucher and we were able to meet with her again and got on the hotel shuttle bus. The shuttle bus stopped in the arrival level near door #7 and #8 in front of two zebra crossing lanes. As we arrived quite late, the shuttle bus was packed as it may be the second last airport pickup on that night. The check in was quick (15 min.) considering there were more than 10 people ahead of us. They asked for 200RMB for two persons as deposit (refundable when checkout)during check in. The room was spacious and clean and really was a non smoking room, unlike some other hotels. I would say this would be a comparable 3 star hotel. Next morning, we walked to the nearby KFC for breakfast , then ventured out to the area near Shanghai Disneyland, which is about a 30 min taxi ride. The taxi fare is around 60RMB one way. In the afternoon, I walked to Walmart store from the hotel that took around 15 minutes. We took the same shuttle bus to the airport, and the bus also stopped in the arrival level near door #7 although we are departing. Most likely, that is their pickup and drop off spot.
Overall, it was a comfortable stay but there could be communication issues. I believe customer service training and coordination could improve travelers' experience with this hotel.
Finding an English speaking person in Shanghai ALONE is a challenge, you'd hope a hotel would at least have some sort of leg up. No! Finding the shuttle bus was a challenge, to then be brought to the hotel after clearly informing the hotel staff that we were trying to book a room, to being told that the hotel is booked up. Needless to say I wanted to burn the place down to the ground.
Finally, and miraculously, accommodations were found and they were actually very nice (this places saving grace). Subsequent downfall? The food is rather terrible so if you're doing an over night layover stay, just eat elsewhere if you can.
Moral of the story: be clear in all telecommunications and when in doubt, stay until they find a room for you too.
The reviews from previous contributors are awful. However, my experience is not too bad. As a transfer passenger, China Eastern gave me a free voucher to stay here one night. If you are looking for a hotel which is convenient to go downtown Shanghai, this is definitely not a ideal choice although its shuttle stops at the subway station. You need another 40+ minutes to go downtown. But there are several Chinese restaurants, a bakery, a convenience store, a KFC and even a supermarket in five minutes walk. My wife and I went to a Chinese buffet restaurant for dinner. In there, we choose three dishes, a bowl of Shanghai style vegetable rice and a bowl of soup for less than 50 RMB. They are delicious but a little bit salty (which is common for Chinese), but I guarantee you it is real Chines food. If it is still not enough, there is a 15 minutes walk Walmart (Chinese style, which is a little bit different from USA) where you can but fresh fruits. We shop a hand of beer in for just 9.5 RMB. The western food in the breakfast buffet is below average but please try Chinese style noodle soup instead. I found China Eastern also accommodates its crew in the hotel because I saw dozens of them in the restaurant. The only con is the receptionists, even the housekeeping smile more than them. They do charge a refundable 100 RMB for deposit instead of wiping your credit card.
- Waited for 45 minutes for the hotel shuttle at 23:00 and it is then a 15/20 minute journey to hotel. Not ideal to stay here late at night if you need the hours to sleep. Staff are not helpful and very slow.
+ However the rooms are very good comfortable, clean, good quality and the bathroom is very clean. Pictures don't do it justice.
Just a shame the transfer to the hotel is not managed efficiently.
We had our flight dates changed & were put up in this hotel for 2 nights by China Eastern Air for free . After reading numerous reviews, we were skeptical about it at first, but when we got there we were surprised at how nice it was.
They had a lady waiting for us at the airport outside the gate to pick us up but the bus driver was pretty rude, didn't help with suitcases & instead had a smoke while watching us struggle on.
The hotel reception staff spoke next to zero English, which i think is pretty poor for a 4 star International Hotel.
The room was very nice & clean, beds comfortable & the shower was great.
Free breakfast was alright, food is all chinese except for cereal & they don't have drinking water. Food could be labelled in English for reference. If you like your coffee, i advise you to bring your own.
There is a bakery & KFC across the road if you are looking for something else.
After reading some reviews about Lihao International from other fellow China Eastern layover customers. I was very hesitant about staying here.
However, to my suprise, as soon as I got off the plane, I had a nice young lady with my name on a piece of paper to help me through the visa transfer section of Shanghai international.
She did have to go pick up other customers, and told me to wait around the lobby just after the visa area. I wasn't sure about what she said. So I just asked once. And was given clear instruction to wait there. Which was fine with me, just be patient, it's definitely worth the wait!
The shuttle bus was nice and cosy, it takes about 20 minutes to get from terminal 1 to the hotel. The receptionist was nice. They do ask for a key deposit, of roughly 20usd, or 100¥. So make sure you have some cash on you. I didn't have any usd or ¥. But they accept most currencies.
And last and most importantly, the room. Being in transit from New York to Shanghai for 16 hours then a 16 hour stopover in Shanghai, i was desperate for a bed. Just any bed. I adjusted my expectations to sort of be lenient with the reviews. But to my suprise. The room was amazing! Hot shower, toothbrush, body wash, shampoo, BIG towels, universal charger points and a big bed.
All in all, there is a good side to Lihao international, they do have a breakfast as well, I didnt get that far, i just wanted to sleep. But, if you do find yourself in this scenario where you have a free stay here, defintely consider it, it's worth it. And if you're unsure with anything, just ask, the staff are most happy to answer questions.
Safe travels!
When China Eastern Airlines offered us a free night stay at this location, I almost turned it down based on the reviews, but decided to give it a chance. Things started out well with the hotel rep meeting us before the immigration inspection at the airport and waiting for us until we were through.
The shuttle bus to the hotel was a fairly dated vehicle, but after 20 minutes we arrived at the hotel. The staff at the hotel were quite pleasant, but I must add that the adults in our group speak Chinese, so there was no language barrier. The room was actually quite clean and had some nice amenities (soap, shampoo, shower cap, etc.). We spent a quiet evening in peaceful sleep as the beds were quite comfortable.
In the morning, we sampled breakfast. While most from Western counties wouldn't like the breakfast, the lone native Asian in our group quite enjoyed it. At breakfast, I saw several China Eastern personnel, so this must be the same hotel that they make available to their own.
Overall, unlike one of the prior reviewers, I would stay here if offered a free room (though I think I would stay somewhere else if I was paying).
It is just horrible and dirty hotel
Hairs in the bed
Holes in towels
Uncleaned room
In addition check out so far away standards
Do not wait have you done a good stay
She just tell me check out finish
Just think other hotel
