Excellent experience at Miami hotel. The hotel was renovated with a very tasteful decor. The room is very clean and comfortable. Staff is very helpful and friendly and you can’t beat the location. The hotel is close to hustle and bustle of everything, yet very quiet and peaceful when you get back to the hotel to relax.
A lovely hotel right in the heart of Bangkok. The location is super convenient, with easy access to public transportation. The atmosphere is cozy and peaceful despite being in the city center. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended for a comfortable and hassle-free stay
Firstly, the hotel does indeed ooze a retro 70s vibe. So much so, they made me sign a thing promising not to have any photoshoots without their permission.
Location is good, close to Sukhumvit Rd, but generally quiet enough.
Room was spacious and well laid out, bed was on the firmer side of comfortable, but the AC worked well and the water pressure was excellent. The layout allowed for someone to use the toilet at the same time someone used the shower and a third person could be using the vanity.
Overall cleanliness was good, and value for what I paid was decent.
The less good: pool is small and doesn't get a heap of sun. There were no towels available for the pool, so I used a room towel. Only one small lift to serve 4 floors, which meant it got quite busy. No signage either to indicate which way to go to my room - inevitably I went the wrong way on my first attempt.
500B key deposit as well - cash only. Be prepared for that.
Staff were quite friendly and personable.
No breakfast or food options, but there's ample nearby.
All up I probably wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again, but glad I did to say I had.
Loved the whole vibe here! A vintage hotel with over six decades of history, beautifully renovated while keeping its original charm. The design is super stylish, cute, and full of character. The room was spacious. Great location, just a short walk to BTS Nana. Staff were so welcoming
I rarely write reviews, even though I travel and stay at various hotels quite often. However, after reading some of the recent misleading and unfair comments about this hotel—which I have been a regular guest at for years—I felt compelled to share my genuine experience.
My family and I have been staying at this hotel since before it was renovated. Over the years, we have witnessed its continuous improvements and the sincere efforts of the management team to enhance every aspect of the property. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the hotel underwent a major renovation, transforming itself into a beautifully refreshed space that perfectly blends a modern yet vintage charm. The rooms, facilities, and common areas—including the swimming pool—are all well-maintained, clean, and far from what some of the false reviews have claimed.
The staff are consistently courteous, friendly, and helpful. They always greet guests warmly and offer assistance whenever needed. Regarding the deposit policy, it is entirely standard practice among hotels, and I have always received a full refund upon check-out without any issues.
The housekeeping team also deserves special mention. They clean the rooms daily, replace the bed linens and towels, and provide two complimentary bottles of drinking water every day. Even additional amenities such as toothbrushes or combs are readily available upon request.
It deeply saddens me to see this hotel—one that my family and I truly appreciate—being unfairly attacked and misrepresented by dishonest reviews. If I were a business owner facing such unfounded criticism, I would feel disheartened as well.
I sincerely hope the hotel management and all staff members remain strong and continue their excellent work. Please do not be discouraged by such negativity—many of your loyal guests, including myself, see and appreciate your dedication. Keep up the great work and continue to grow even better.
I recently stayed at Miami Hotel, which has been beautifully renovated from an old building into a space with a very cool retro theme. The decor is both unique and stylish, creating a memorable atmosphere.
The staff made my stay exceptionally pleasant; they were incredibly friendly and accommodating. After checking out, I realized I had forgotten a few items, but the staff promptly contacted me and arranged for me to retrieve my belongings at the front lobby.
.
The hotel provides large outdoor swimming pool surrounded with many tropical trees to unwind the long day from shopping and the heat. Our children also really enjoy the game area with the free football table and air ball table.
.
Additionally, the cleaning staff was professional and attentive, maintaining the hotel's standards throughout my stay.
I highly recommend Miami Hotel for anyone looking for a blend of charm, comfort, and excellent service.
Looks Vintage, Acts Vicious
No positives - Only negatives & bad personal experiences
INTRO:
This vintage hotel is a relic of the past, with a management that is also living six decades back in time
Built during the Vietnam War to lure U.S. soldiers with an American vibe, hotels like Miami and Atlanta have been running in Bangkok for over six decades.
Unfortunately, the hotel management of Miami has decided NOT to evolve with time, giving guests the same outdated service level that was applicable in the 60s, with an ingrained fraudulent approach
SCAM ALERT: On top of this, they're conning innocent guests as they will ask you 500 baht cash at the time of check-in, stating its hotel policy under the garb of "room key deposit". Upfront, they don't give you a receipt for the payment. Upon asking for one, you will be given a chit of paper (no hotel name mentioned), but if you read it closely, it will say "NON REFUNDABLE" at the bottom (sharing a picture of the same for public awareness).
PERSONAL DISTRESSING EXPERIENCE:
To avoid returning the deposit, the front office informed me on the second day that there was a blackboard marker stain on my bedsheet which was uncleanable.
Interestingly enough, we weren't carrying any marker that could make the kind of mark shown to us in the picture on mobile. Just to prove their point, they took a picture of a black writing pen of our kids, placing it next to our bed, and said the mark was a result of that pen.
Normally, you'd assume its a white cotton sheet of a hotel room - easily wasahable to remove all stains. In this day and age, all kinds of detergents/stain removers/bleaching agents etc. are available to remove all stains, however, since the intention was to usurp the guest's deposit money, Miami Hotel told us "it cannot be removed despite all efforts & you have to money"
In the first time, they asked me to deposit 1,500 baht as a fine for it, claiming the whole cost of bedsheet.
The second time, they called me at 10 pm in the night and asked for 2,000 bahts. As I had returned after a long day of exploration, I told them this wasn't fair and confronted them. They seemed clueless as usual.
At checkout — just as I expected — they demanded the payment again. After much argument, they threatened to keep my 500-baht deposit and even said they’d call the police if I refused. Just let that sink in!!
Since we had to catch another flight and they were just wasting my time, I offered them what they wanted!
Left the hotel.. never to come back again - Also inform other travelers about this wretched place
NEGATIVES
> Poor, worn out infrastructure with a clear sense of untidiness & bad hygiene across
> You will have mosquitos in your room at all times. Since I travelled with family, we all had multiple mosquito bite marks on our bodies during the stay
> Pathetic Room service: Despite requesting two times, dental kits weren't being provided to our room regularly (we stayed for 5 nights). The bath soap bottle got empty after 3 days, and it wasn't refilled till checkout
> Room Amenities: No electric point was available for the kettle and the hotel manager stated she had never thought of putting an electric point where the kettle was kept.
> Check-out: they make you wait 10-15 mins while they inspect every inch of your room (trying to find ways how to cease deposit money I guess); and you feel like criminal awaiting a verdict
> No gym, restaurant, recreational area. There's one dining area at the ground that stayed closed every time I visited
> Onsite pool: The only attraction inside the hotel, which is quite small and again hasn't been maintained much since 60s, as the water wasn't cleaned & had leaves / dust particles on both times I went for a swim
> The shower in my room was leaking massively at check-in, and a team of 3 people came to validate it (giving me the impression that I might have lied to them about it).
> No sound proofing inside rooms - you will hear all kinds of noise from outside
POSITIVES
After such a horrible experience at the hotel, there aren't may positives I can recall but below are some:
> Location is great. Near to hustle bustle shops, diners, pubs and, most importantly, sky trains (BTS and MTR)
> Commute is easy but that is applicable to all hotels present on Sukhumvit road.
Not Recommended - 2 / 10
Great hotel and good value
Best part is that this hotel was close to the BTS rail lines, that you can get to this place straight from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Otherwise, the hotel is central to many shopping areas, you cannot go wrong. Swimming pool is great, where when at the right time, the sun will be right over you. This is a busy location. At night, many people are walking and traffic is usually bumper to bumper, but surprisingly, it usually has its way to move. Vendors at times line the streets. I'd pick up fresh fruits before heading back to the hotel or pick up some beverages at the 7-Elevens right next to the hotel. I am very pleased with this place.
As an architect, this hotel was beautiful with an abundance of character.
The main downsides were that the corridors, with their beautiful art-deco tiles, were very noisy. Sound echoed when cleaners worked, and when patrons opened and closed their doors.
Also, any form of late check-out is charged. Many other hotels are much more generous with checking out a couple of hours later.
Older style building very well maintained with modern renovations in rooms
A very charming hotel
Great location
Deep pool
Great value
Classic 60s vibe
Was great. The pool is an added bonus. Good CP.
Nice
A Hidden Oasis with Retro Charm in the Heart of the City
I had an amazing stay at Miami Hotel a true hidden gem tucked at the entrance of a quiet soi, just steps away from the busy main road. The hotel has a fascinating history and a truly unique pop-retro design that makes it stand out from the typical modern hotels.
What I loved most was the pool area it genuinely felt like stepping into an oasis in the middle of Bangkok. Palm trees, retro tiles, and relaxing vibes made it perfect for an afternoon break or photo spot.
The location is super convenient. It’s right at the beginning of the soi, so it’s very easy to walk to the main street, BTS, and nearby restaurants. The hotel offers a nostalgic atmosphere while still being comfortable and accessible. Highly recommended for those who appreciate style, character, and great value.
If you’re looking for a calm, stylish place to stay in Bangkok, I really recommend Thai Miami Hotel. It’s not overly fancy, but there’s something about the atmosphere that just feels right. The design blends traditional Thai elements with a modern, minimal touch — and every corner looks like it was made for photos.
The whole place has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Staff were super friendly, down-to-earth, and made me feel right at home. You don’t get that overly formal hotel feel here — more like staying at a cool friend’s place who happens to have great taste.
Honestly, I’m surprised more people don’t know about this place. It deserves way more attention. Whether you’re staying overnight, looking for a peaceful spot to work, or just want to drop by for a coffee and take some photos, this place is really worth checking out.
everything decor clean nice staff location
Good and clean, easy access by BTS.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS HOTEL. Reasonable price for its location, absolutely friendly staff they always greet you when you leave and come back to the hotel. 7/11 just next door as well as street vendors outside. NANA station just 5 mins walk away. Terminal 21 Asok is a walking distance maybe 15mins? absolutely convenient and i enjoyed my one week stay here. Will definitely be back.
I’m a frequent travel to Bangkok and I have stayed at this hotel for four times. I keep returning to this establishment due to its location, service and rooms; amongst other things. The basic room is cosy with to comfortable beds and pillows. Basic amenities are available. 7-eleven is just next door. Numerous restaurants and eateries on either sides. Housekeeping is prompt and does a good job of cleaning and resetting the room. It’s my go to accommodation when in Bangkok. Highly recommended.
