I have been here several times before and although it is very nice, there was something just not quite right this time. Maybe just me??
179 miles (too much on this road), my fav N103 is almost half roadworks... Poor surface and traffic lights.
Anyway, found Forte in usual around the houses fashion. Nice friendly Check in.
Room 10 was good. Food? Hmm. On the first day I was going to say a bit disappointed, but as I stayed longer and looked at the price and choice I decided it was good value.
Breakfast was very, very good.
Great hotel with classy facilities in an old fortress. Spacious rooms and king-size bed. Buffet breakfast. Pool and gym are available and not crowded but didn't have the time to use them.

The property was unique with amazing views from the pool area. Breakfast was excellent and staff was friendly and helpful.
This place can only have 5 stars. From the welcome on arrival, to the pool and the food. And finally the after service..... helping me even when I had left.
it's a little bit older property but was made as a hotel to last long. You will live in the fortress and feel like a king. Lots of spaces to discover.
Rooms with wooden floor are in good maintainance, new soft matresses and working AC! We slept with open window, singing birds in the morning!
A huge outdoor pool is a big plus - Sauna as well (but only accessible during summer time - which is real pitty -Sauna is needed especially in colder days!
Breakfast has the typical Portugese selections (but eg. local presunto or salciccia), coffee from vending machine is always a problem.
This place could be Pousada de Chaves! Highly recommended (for rates below 100€)

I love bringing friends here. The look on their faces as you enter the walls to reveal this gem of a hotel
Brilliant check in with friendly staff . We were hot and sticky being 37.c
The large pool was open and welcoming
The rooms clean and well equipped . Just one of our party had a plumbing issue with the shower
Breakfast was beautiful with loads of fresh fruits and yoghurts . Plus hot food if you wanted . Staff very friendly
On our second night we ate the restaurant in the hotel. Although very busy with a large group the staff were great and one of the best meals was had by all. Our group of seven throughly enjoyed the hotel has many antique artifacts as is like a living museum

Probablemente la mejor opción de alojamiento en Chaves, tiene todo lo que se puede necesitar (buena ubicación para llegar andando a cualquier parte de la ciudad, aparcamiento, un buen restaurante, habitaciones espaciosas con camas cómodas, personal muy amable y dispuesto.... repetiría, sin duda

Hotel with character located in a Fortress. Style is great and very well preserved. Breakfast is very good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Restaurant is very good with nice service. The hotel is very clean. Easy parking facilities in front of the hotel inside of the property. Nice swimming pool and places to relax and enjoy the sun.
This hotel was amazing!! We had a great time there. The view from the breakfast room was awesome. Staff was great .
Not every day you get to sleep in a castle
simple check in,staff were very friendly and helpful.my room was across the way from reception and had everything one needs for a comfortable stay and do walk around this hotel as it's a bit different from the norm but in a good way and with the centre of chaves a short walk away via a draw bridge the location is great.
