Very close to local amenities, very quiet even next to the main road. Short stays would be fine for this clean hotel, an
Pros:

Location was great, just a couple of hundred metres to the town centre and only a few minutes drive to the indoor bowls club. My room was quite large and the bathroom was to. The shower area was large and the shower itself easily controlled and plenty of hot water. The bar lounge was a good size with plenty of seating available and the bar prices were so much cheaper than I was accustomed to. Although the breakfast wasn’t supposed to start till 8am the chef kindly made it for us at 7.30 because several guests needed to be out before 8.15. The cooked breakfast itself was tasty and ample, with cereal, yoghurts and a choice of juices readily available. Car parking was at the rear of the property, out of sight from the nearby main road. We ate our evening meal at a nearby Wetherspoons and during the short walk to it I noticed a nearby Chinese takeaway and a KFC restaurant.

Cons:

I was on the 3rd floor with no lift! The Velux window blinds let in early morning light and one was broken. The shaving light above the mirror in the bathroom was defective and the toilet was tucked in too close to the sink. I had wanted to eat in the hotel restaurant but it was closed that evening due to a meeting. The menu looked a little limited but as I couldn’t use it I cannot comment further. I couldn’t get any hot water in the bathroom sink and had to boil the kettle for shaving water.

Pros:

Nice room, good location

Cons:

Ordered breakfast for 8.30. No one around till about 9. Then the order was wrong for my partner. We tried to change it but he just said eat around what you don’t like. The food she didn’t like had tainted all the other food though. Very disappointing really.

A good place to spend one night, including a nice breakfast.
Pros:

Nice breakfast (freshly cooked).
Helpful staff (changed me to another room very smoothly).
Very clean room.
Comfortable bed.
Good fast wifi.
Quiet.

Cons:

There is no lift! I was late booking, so I got a room on the second floor, up some very steep stairs. Tricky if you have any walking problems (I do, due to old age).

The room wasn't warm enough: in fact the first room I was assigned was even colder, so the receptionist moved me to another one very politely. It had inadequate radiators and no air conditioning, so the best thing was to go to bed!

The TV was old, so no possibility of mirroring video from a phone etc. Time to change it!

Felt very cosy in the actual bedroom

Cons:

In the bathroom wallpaper was peeling, had a crack in the bath tub and damp marks all over the ceiling. Additionally the kettle in the room was mouldy.

A good middle-of-the-road hotel.
Pros:

On a cold winter's night the hotel was warm, welcoming, clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking. Good breakfast.
