Well appointed space, lovely spacious room and bathroom.
Staff very friendly , well trained and very helpful.
Breakfast however can do with a bit of improvement. I love Sri Lankan food and found the breakfast buffet a bit underwhelming
We loved our stay at Era Beach. The hotel is beautiful and well looked after. We had a sea view room which was beautiful. Bed very comfy and spacious room. The breakfast included was also really nice - fresh fruit followed by cooked breakfast. The hotel has a nice size pool which was very clean. The hotel was right on the beach but you could not lay on the sand or swim in the sea. However a short walk along if you wanted some beach and a sea swim. The food menu for lunch and dinner was also good! I would definately recommend if you are looking for a chill out hotel away from the hussle of the town - about 10 minutes tuk tuk from Unawatuna. The only downside was the road noise in the morning (but didn't really bother us). Thanks so much Era Beach for our stay!
Beautiful hotel, "private beach" is not a bit misleading as it is very small with large rocks making swimming or sunbathing not possible.
The people we're nice, just very understaffed. One gentleman took our bags to our room. After dropping our stuff off to our room, we went to the restaurant, and the same genteleman that took our bags, also was our waiter. We ordered drinks and food and sure enough, he made our drinks and cooked our food! He was very nice and efficient but he could have used some help.
Absolutely beautiful hotel, it is more like a deluxe villa. It only has 10 rooms. From start to finish this place was magically. The food is amazing thanks to the wonderful cheif everything from local food to if you fancy a cheeky burger.
The pool is stunning and it is right on the beach so you can hear the sea all the time. The beach is beautiful. Plus there is someone who comes to the hotel and can give you a massage, which was amazing! It's a 10min tuk tuk ride from the main beach.
Sanjeewa really made our stay. He was so attentive and was so kind. He could sort everything from a tuk tuk to a whale trip. All the staff were amazing but only managed to catch Lakindu name.
We couldnt have asked for a better holiday.
Thank you to everyone at the Era Beach hotel it was the best holiday ever. We will be back one day!!
The staff are amazing at this property, they go above and beyond and are an asset. Beautiful rooms and grounds, very clean. Lovely food you must try the Sri Lankan breakfast.
Only negatives, the beach is not suitable for swimming but Dalawella beach is a 1km walk which was lovely. And the building works next door were very noisy. We booked a private pool suite but we’re unable to enjoy our pool due to the construction noise. This would usually have been enough to make me leave but everything else was just perfect and more than made up for it.
We will be back!
This was a beautiful hotel with lovely, attentive and helpful staff. Everyone there works so hard. The rooms are amazing! The hotel is not too big so it’s never overcrowded, infact it felt like we had the place to ourselves some days! I never tried out the restaurant as it is heavily seafood based so not great for vegans but the breakfasts were good and I was catered for. Location is good on the beach, we walked both ways but preferred walking a long to the right, climb over the rocks or wall if you can where the pipe is and keep going. Nice little area to explore :-)
Good position for Marconi Airport
The Sri Lankan breakfast was the best we had on our trip. Highly recommended.
Excellent stay.
10/10 - service, food, location and building quality and cleanliness.
Highly recommed.
We had booked a suite but we had to shift to another of their properties in Galle because the suite wasnt in a good shape or ready
Relaxing stay coupled with warm, intimate service only possible in a small property (5 suites only in tastefully restored seaside villa). Staff were all fantastic!
Gorgeous hotel with fantastic secluded beach right in front. Easy to visit Galle from there. Great service, great food. Loved it.
Everything about this hotel was just perfect. If you want individual attention and great service, this is the place. The staff, food and amenities were excellent.
Amazing view, friendly staff, comfy and clean rooms and delicious breakfast. Would definitely recommend to others!
This hotel is so beautiful and is exactly like their pictures. We've stayed in hotels all over the world and this is really something special. The staff are wonderful. They are really helpful but they also leave you alone when you want to just relax and enjoy the views. The food is top quality and everything is fresh. There are only a few guests so we always had the pool to ourselves and the beach in front is empty and beautiful. I wish I could live there!
We stayed at Era Beach in September 2014 and had an incredible time. The staff could not do enough for you and the hotel was just perfect! Rooms were large, clean and well equipped and maintained daily. The restaurant served incredible food at really reasonable prices and the service was impeccable!
I can't recommend this hotel highly enough!
We stayed for 3 nights at Era Beach. About 800 Rs to Galle Fort, worth the travel. Finding a beach to hangout at is hard during off-season as the tides are high and rough. PROS: The staff were very attentive and always want to help. The hotel is beautiful and relaxing. The food was great! CONS: The wifi was terrible. Only got any signal when near the office.
This is a small boutique hotel with only 8 rooms which used to be privately owned. At the time we stayed it was off season and only 4 of the rooms were occupied. An upside to the hotel was that the staff that were on duty were very effiicient and attentive. Unfortunately there were not really enough staff to man the restaurant, reception and the bar all at the same time. This meant that if you were not requiring the same service as the majority of the other guests at any particular time then it could be difficult to get someone to help you out. This may not be the case if you stay in peak season and the hotel is full. The guys tried really hard to make everything work but there was just not enough manpower. The rooms were large and comfortable and the bellboy responsible for servicing them was excellent and deserves special mention. The bar was reasonably well stocked and the restaurant in the hotel was nice but nothing out of the ordinary for a 4-star hotel. I would say that everything that is available around the hotel is a tuc-tuc ride away but not too far. The Japanese pagoda and Jungle beech are quite near, the rest of Galle about 10 minutes away by car. Overall I would say that the major shortcoming of the hotel in the off-season was a lack of service staff in the evening. A comment that was made by someone with experience of both this and the other Jetwing hotel in the area was that the other was a better experience. However, it is a little more expensive.
Quiet, friendly service, comfy beds with huge bathroom, incredible food!
A stunningly beautiful location just 10 minutes by tuk tuk to Galle Fortress. This boutique hotel is the perfect place to relax - staff are warm and welcoming, rooms superb and outlook over pool to Indian Ocean sheer magic. Was very hard to leave!
