I visited this hotel recently with a family member, and overall our stay was very good but there were a number of issues we really weren’t happy about.
The first issue was the evening we arrived, the male receptionist (he conveniently had no name badge) was particularly rude, he was rather blunt and rolled his eyes over a payment discrepancy that was resolved almost immediately.
Our room was not that clean either, there was urine on the toilet seat, hair behind the shower room door, dust around the toilet and the power sockets and the reading lamp over the bed was broken to the point it was only useful if you sat on the floor next to the bed. Apart from all that we had a lovely stay and the food was consistently delicious. One more thing you should be aware of, that we weren’t when we booked, the hotel Las Arenas advertises a Spa, well.. it doesn’t actually have one all it has is a pool and a sauna, It’s sister hotel has the spa.
We stayed 10 nights, first week October 25.
Double Standard Room (SeaView, with Balcony)
Breakfast included.
Overall, an enjoyable stay. Let down by restaurant manager, and some annoying, petty rules: The use of the room safe, attracts a fee of 30 Euro. Can’t use room Key / room account, for bar purchases - cash or card only.
Not allowed to take drinks, or coffee, to room.
A bit on the expensive side.
Great location - facing promenade, almost on the beach.
Very clean, very modern decor, well maintained.. Excellent public areas / lounges - extensive and comfortable .
Good entertainment in evenings.
Slow bar service due to shortage of staff.
Hotel takes coach party’s, this impacts on bar and breakfast / restaurant service.
Safe, Modern lifts - but, only two, which accommodate 4 passengers each, so can be a long wait.
Bedrooms are clean, comfortable and attractive, “Modern / Minimalistic “ - No drawers. Open, hanging spaces ( with a limited few “captive“ hangers) and very few shelves.
Large numbers of well positioned (2pin) power outlets in bedrooms. No kettle or iron.
Missing a “make up” mirror over desk!
Very comfortable beds. Great Shower.
Balcony, with two chairs and coffee table.
Good AirCon.
WiFi pretty good, measured 92 Mbps download, in bedroom.
Excellent Cleaning staff: friendly, polite, helpful and efficient 👏👏
Two moderate size swimming pools. The ground floor pool doesn’t catch the sun. Other pool is located on the roof / 7th floor, with nice views, but limited space. Don’t try repositioning chairs, to suit your group, or staff will pounce!
Excellent breakfast - large choice, good variety - buffet / self service. Adequate tables, except when bus trip are in hotel.
But - Don’t dare enter near to closing (10:30am), or stay even slightly longer.
The restaurant Manager struts around, like a mini General, shouting “closed”, and (almost physically) ushering people from their tables. And, don’t think about taking your part drunk coffee with you - he demands the cup!
When he was told that certain items of food, had run out - 30 min before closing - his response was , “ when it’s gone, it’s gone”😡
Regularly, up to two, of 4 coffee points runs out, again causing long queues, which are ignored by staff.
All somewhat intimidating and stress inducing, for what is advertised, and charged as, an upmarket hotel - so much for 4 star, rating?
I would feel quite indifferent about recommending Las Arenas. It is quite unlikely I would stay at this hotel again for a number of reasons though the main one being the Restaurant Manager who completely ruined the start of our holiday, a holiday that we have work hard to afford and for what we had waited a long time to share with family for a very special occasion. Whilst the hotel was clean and modern with a good breakfast, the evening meal selection was poor for vegetarian choice and the allergen advice was particularly very poor and quite concerning. Just one example being that there were peanuts mixed in with rice, this was a major concern for us because such a high risk allergen was not well advertised when we had a anaphylaxis risk with one member in our party, indeed what was the purpose of peanuts in plain rice?! The Restaurant Manager (Nicholas) ruined the first morning of my holiday and it took a good few days for me to move on from this experience. I emailed the hotel twice to inform them of my complaint though I received no response, I also tried to inform Reception though I found the moderate level of spoken English to make this somewhat difficult to achieve efficiently. The hotel felt considerably almost regimented, breakfast finished at 10.30am and there was no running over time, on our first morning we were actually shouted at by the Restaurant Manager when we were finishing off breakfast at 10.35am, this was simply unacceptable. Normally you can leave the restaurant and take a coffee, but not in the Las Arenas. The first breakfast in the hotel very much marred my whole experience and ruined the start of my 50th birthday celebration and our wedding anniversary, this being the last holiday we are likely to have as a family and a holiday that was very much needed following a very serious illness, The room we had was large, clean and relatively comfortable yet the shower ran hot and cold and the frosted glass between the bathroom and bedroom was made for a less than modest shower/toilet experience. There was a considerable draft coming through the patio door. I was woken up very early every day because of the poor quality of the patio door, the noise below our room was unexpected. It became obvious we were above the hotel kitchen hence every morning I was woken early due to delivery vehicles, people shouting/speaking excessively loudly and the alarm from the bin lorries, plus the dog barking and people shouting in the residential accommodation opposite the hotel. In respect to the poor quality patio door, it would have been very easy to have been locked out on the patio and indeed, this did happen to one of the Domestic Assistants of whom we had to help when she became locked out on a neighbouring balcony one morning when the door clicked locked very easily on closing. There were a number of excessive charges such as 40 euros for safe deposit hire (non refundable) and the double sun loungers on the roof terrace were between 40 and 90 euros to hire (though I believe you also received a sandwich and drink within this price). Whilst the hotel was fairly well located, very clean and the majority of the staff were hard working and pleasant, I would not consider this a 4 star hotel nor would I probably stay here again, there were other local hotels of which we have stayed in Can Pastilla and had a much better holiday experience.
I stayed here in July with 24 friend for my hen do as I know the area well but hadn't stayed at Las Arenas before . We liked the location, the entertainment and the rooftop pool area. The breakfast was OK and we did have to complain about a rude reception staff who worked at night, who did call us in Spanish but didn't realise two of my party spoke fluent Spanish - a little embarrassing for them!
However, I decided to book a stay for my honeymoon there as again location wise, it was where we wanted to be. I emailed in advance, as did the travel advisor. When we got there, a day late due to a flight cancellation - they had resold or allocated my room to someone else - saying originally they could not find my booking and I would have to stay at a sister hotel (which is not as nice btw). I refused - the reception staff were rude, not apologetic and then miraculously found me a room!
The hotel was exceptionally busy, but you never saw any management talking to clients or checking facilities or areas. On the rooftop, staff were not consistent in enforcing no glass around the pool.
I emailed 2 days before we left, saying I did not want to leave a poor review and would like to share my thoughts, no one had the decency to reply to that email or take the time to ask personally.
No one took the time to leave say a cheap bottle of fizz for our honey moon or a congratulations note/gift. We ravel often on birthdays etc and all the hotels I have ever emailed have been kind and thoughtful, but not Las Arenas.
I have therefore decided to leave an honest review and to not stay at the hotel again. I had reservations for July next year, but have cancelled. They do not value their customers enough to have repeat business. Very disappointing.
Hotel is spectacular! Unfortunately I am not able to give a 5 star review as my check in took over an hour. There was only one guest service agent with 10 guests waiting. Not sure why, and he was doing his best. It was 23:30 and everyone was exhausted.
The hotel itself was clean beautiful and great location across from the beach.
I have just returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely hotel, it was clean, modern, comfortable and the rooftop pool had great views.
Taxis getting around are a little expensive so bare that in mind if you are planning on spending a lot of time in PALMA.
I am NEVER one to write reviews but the staff went above and beyond for me that I would like to show my appreciation of the efforts they went too. I was visiting for a wedding, on the morning of I requested an iron from reception, I tested it on a towel before placing on the front of my dress... a HUGE BLACK stain melted on to it. I freaked out and ran to reception with a lot of frustration and stress that i had no outfit for a wedding in 1 hour.
The staff took the dress from me whilst II went to get ready and rallied around the house keeps to try and fix it, they were very apologetic and I left it with them. I came down an hour later, they said they hadn't managed to get the stain out fully but they had done something so the dress was wearable.
I had a little freak out expecting to have to run round some local shops to find something semi appropriate. A gent and a very lovely house keeper then appeared with the dress, they had sourced and sewn on an exact color matched flower to the front of my dress covering the disaster. I couldn't believe the lengths they went to to ensure I had something to wear.
I know they will have gone to great lengths to help me, and I had so many compliments on the day and no one would've known!
I also arrived by to my room that night to a complimentary bottle of wine (which I definitely didn't need) but the gesture and care was hugely appreciated.
The staff went above and beyond for me and I am so grateful - Thank you again x
An excellent stay at Hotel Las Arenas! A solo traveller, arriving around 4pm and was greeted openly at reception. There was an issue as my booking had been duplicated but the receptionist was calm, reassured me everything would be sorted and worked to fix it. The room was fantastic. Lovely balcony space, excellent storage and wardrobe space and everything was great. The bathroom was fantastic - two options for the showers (a rainforest shower and normal shower head) and everything was clean and tidy. Great food choices for both breakfasts and the evening meals and the pool areas were brilliant. The views from the rooftop bar are something else!
We had a wonderful sea view room opposite the harbour. The weather was fantastic and we really enjoyed the soul and motown singer and the Diana Ross and Whitney tribute acts. The hotel is cool calm and well ran. We really enjoyed our stay my 3rd but my husbands first and we will return. The hotel is easily located for airport and bus to palma. The views are amazing we love the location.
Wonderful
Excellent hotel
Modern, spotlessly clean, fantastic showers powerful and hot
Lovely roof top pool with bar but very busy and not many Sunbed’s
Another pool on ground floor that we used and very nice and relaxing.
Food at breakfast was great with something for everyone and massive choice.
Staff on desk were lovely helpful and polite as were the cleaners
Beach was sandy with lots of sun beds 6 euros for a bed and 6 for a brolly cash only
Lots of local restaurants
10 mins cab for 20 euros from airport
Would be very happy to return ☀️
Just minutes by taxi from Palma airport this hotel has everything you need.
We have previously stayed at the sister hotel The Nautic in 2023. So we were keen to try Las Arenas.
The hotel has a small rooftop pool with a fantastic bar. Plenty of seating and sofas to enjoy those spectacular views of the bay and marina. There is also a pool on the ground floor which was never crowded. So great for a peaceful way to spend a few hours.
Breakfast was included and had a great choice and was never too crowded.
Evening entertainment was very good with a special mention of pop/opera singer Hilton Andres who had the whole street applauding.
The hotel is perfectly placed to either cycle in to Palma (about 30/40 minutes) or take a bus/taxi in around 15 minutes.
The beach is glorious golden sandy beach right in front of the hotel. Plenty of water sports are on offer. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants are all in easy walking distance.
It’s a great location as so close to the airport, perfect for a long weekend getaway.
Las Arenas is a fantastic place to spend a holiday. We have returned several years now, and find it absolutely worthwhile.
Easy location to reach from airport. Clean enough and modern. Breakfasts not great, only went for one. Food menu small for evenings or day time. Pools cold especially the roof top. A lot of guest in and back out due to the wind and rain water temp. Might be worth considering having it heated on the rooftop.
Zimmer sind sauber und aufgeräumt
Frühstück und Abendessen ausreichen
Ansich ein schönes Hotel aber nichts für längere Aufenthalte
This was our second visit to this hotel. It is very central to everything in Can Pastilla, very close to beach and we all had sea view rooms which are cleaned daily.
Breakfast is plentiful, to a very good standard and you would not go hungry. Some very loud German guests this time round, who clearly have no manners. The second negative was no kettle in room, us Brits love a brew on the balcony. Also we were promised wine etc in room for my brother in laws birthday while there, that never happened. All in all a pleasant stay.
Wow, what a place!! It met all our expectations and more for a seaside experience. Wall to wall windows filled with sea views(be sure to ask for them specifically. I will definitely stay here when I'm blessed to return to the beautiful Spanish Island of Mallorca.
とても充実した旅ができました!
I went for a long weekend and it was such a lovely hotel a really short journey away from the airport . It was a very modern hotel and had a single room on the 3rd floor which was really spacious . Breakfast had everything , hot and cold selection and so much choice . The best part was the rooftop such amazing views with a bar small pools and very clean and modern
The hotel was nice and cool. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds super comfortable, housekeeping did a great job. Welcome drinks and reception was nice, so were the staff in the hotel.
The only problem is the pool bar. Its staff is rude (if you can find them) and the overall experience at the pool bar is not one of a 5 star hotel.
Visited here for a drink and a bite to eat on a Tuesday night. Live music which was very enjoyable. Service was very good and the food was very reasonably priced. Good atmosphere there while the live music was on. Good spot for a drink and a bite to eat.
