Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon

The holiday at Hikka Tranz hotel was a good experience. The location is excellent. Our room had beautiful views. The room was clean, although the bathroom could use an update.

The pool area is very nice, and we especially liked its garden-like atmosphere. The proximity to the beach is a big plus!

The service was mostly excellent. We especially remember our room attendant Dinesh. He always had a smile on his face and asked about how we were doing every day.

The staff at the restaurant and the Tropic Bar were also extremely friendly, especially Renuka from the buffet restaurant, who was genuinely interested in our well-being. In addition, Chamod, Janitha, Prasad, Dinesh and Prasanna from the Tropic Bar deserves a mention.

For a Humid place we were told that only one 500ml Bottle per pax is offered. Although on several request some more bottles were provided. Also at the restaurant no Indian Veg options were available.

Hello everyone!
We had a very nice stay at Hikkaduwa Tranz by Cinnamon. We spent wonderful days there and had many interesting moments and experiences.

We saw baby turtles being released into the ocean, monitor lizards and small squirrels that regularly passed through the garden, and huge sea turtles on the beach. There are interesting reefs nearby where you can see beautiful fish and much more.

Honestly, we have no words to describe the staff. I don't know how to express my gratitude to the people who took care of our stay and made it comfortable and enjoyable - I am simply speechless. The people of Sri Lanka are the best and friendliest people we have ever met.

The hotel staff - at the reception and in the restaurant - every single one of them was extremely kind and always smiling. The food was excellent; many thanks to the chefs and sous chefs! Heartfelt thanks to the restaurant staff who served us — Gamini and Telakasiri. Thank you, all of you! 🙂

Special thanks to Uditha who cleaned our room every day and made sure everything was tidy and well organized.

Beautiful setting. Lovely staff. Greeted on arrival and looked after by Vishmi. Pool and grounds immaculate. Breakfast spread amazing as was the food in the Crab Shack.

We had an exceptionally wonderful family holiday at HikkaTranz. The location is truly unbeatable with just metres from the lovely ocean, you could just spend hours looking at the amazing views, either from your own sea view balcony or in the pool area, which is, by the way one of the most beautiful ones I've been to.
The hotel and it's outside area are well maintained, the guards are present to make you feel secure and staff are always available. We saw birds, some iguanas and squirrels in the garden, it was very fun to watch them.
Sun loungers were always available and there were at least two beach access were you could enter to the public beach and if lucky, to see the giant turtles.
We went for AI and must say it was the one of the best we've had. Lots of variety and so fresh and delicious. We were taken very good care of by the lovely staff, especially would like to thank Thilakasiri, Sanjeewa and Gamini who were always there for us.

Our room was with sea view and did easily accommodate 3 persons (2 adults and a teenager). AC kept the room cool and the beds were comfortable, slept very well during our 10 night stay. Bathroom was big enough and plenty of space for your personal belongings.
Our room attendant Rasun took very good care of our room and it was always spotless. He was very attentive and making sure everything was taken care of.

Over all, HikkaTranz was very good choice and we definitely will come back! It must be one of the best hotels in the area, maybe the best one, the location is exceptional, the staff amazing and they really make sure you will make the most of your holiday!

Hospitality at its best! Spent 2 weeks with my family here. A big thanks to Chamila and Renuka in the restaurant, accompanied by Asoka, Kasun and the rest of the team you made every meal an wonderful experience.
Kumara in the bar made the coolest drinks by the pool, always with a friendly smile. Last but not least - Madushanka, always greeting us with a smile every day and the lovely folded animals as a little surpise in the room.

Very friendly staff and wonderful service. Location is very nice, hotel is located right on the beach! The staff were amazing,but especially would mention our room attendant Rasun. Very kind and did a good job. The waiters were wonderful and friendly too, i especially would mention Gamini,Thilakasiri and Sanjeewa. Food was great quality and lot of options. Rooms were clean.Also we had a really nice sea view. No noise at all! Overall a wonderful experience!☺️🫶🏼

We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth and well managed. The staff were extremely courteous and made us feel welcome. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all necessary amenities. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable experience. Highly recommended for both leisure and business travelers.

Since 10:00 pm, I have been requesting a Sinhala song. She said management asked not to sing Sinhala songs and also mentioned that she doesn’t know any. Several people made requests because there were a couple of Sri Lankan guests. Even though they refused to play any Sinhala songs, we were very disappointed. On New Year’s Eve at Hikka Tranz, with such bands playing, they were able to play songs from other countries (which I prefer not to mention) when requested. The band seemed more interested in taking pictures and selfies with the crowd.
It is surprising that a band like this was selected for Hikka Tranz.

We stayed at the Hikka tranz for new years and really enjoyed our stay here we loved the access to the beach and the activities available such as surfing , snorkelling , diving , water aerobics , gym and lots of swim options. Lovely restaurants available around Hikkaduwa including the Hikka tranz. Really great destination for everyone.

Not worthing 400 usd per night (half board), i am sure your money can go further in other hotels in the area. Hotel feels like a bit run-down and a renovation is definitely needed. Service is very good though and you may enjoy good variety of cuisines in the buffet. I did two dives with the hotel’s dive shop; they are well organised and professional.

Family vacation with kids. Overall very good stay. Checkin was straightforward even being a peak month. Amazing food. Friendly staff.

Had a very unpleasant experience here. We went to see the hotel and dine there. Then we went to see the beach. When we went to see the beach and came back before dining we were told that we cannot use the washrooms by the security guard which was quite shocking. So as we left, another security guard at the gate refused to let us leave coercing us to buy something and said we should “buy at least a beer bottle” and mind you, we don’t drink. We were not informed of anything of the sort as we entered and it really ruined our whole experience of the hotel. The hotel looks very nice though and had a nice pool. Just very poor staff hospitality and poor policies. People should be informed of this before they enter. Not as they leave keeping the gates closed and making them feel held hostage. Absolutely wild! Never had such and experience like this! If at all they should implement a policy of charging a parking fee, not coercing them to buy food or drinks. Absurd as entering a hotel and seeing it is an invitation to treat and seeing the beach is public property. Overall an awful experience, having stayed at the hotel multiple times over the past 10 years as a local.

Actually I have visited 6 occasions to HiKKA Tranz for various celebrations. Latest been my Wife’s birthday (date 15.12.2025 - 16.12.2026 Beach Suite )

I am a huge fan of HiKKA Tranz since 2022. Mainly because of this special human being Mr.Ruwan, The Senior restaurant manager of HiKKA Tranz… whenever, I visited there with My family Mr. Ruwan make sure we get the absolute best service. He is a great hospitality professional who takes the guests very serious and provides an attentive service.

Moreover, my kids are in so much love with HiKKA Tranz with the amazing hospitality, great view and comfy rooms they have. Hikka Tranz for me is by far the best beach resort in southern province.

Thank you Mr. Ruwan and amazing staff for giving us the best you can offer. Surely this will be our comfort zone for Many years to come.
