I really enjoyed my stay at Ramada Encore. The staff were amazing across the board, friendly, welcoming and genuinely helpful the whole time I was there.
The room was good and the bed was very comfortable, so I had a really pleasant night’s sleep. The only small things I would mention are that the lighting in both the bedroom and bathroom felt a little dim and the juice machine at breakfast wasn’t really up to standard. Neither of these things took away from the overall experience though.
I especially want to thank the lady at breakfast, I believe her name was Sam, although I may have that wrong. She was there from the 14th to the 16th and was so lively and chatty each morning. It was really nice seeing a familiar face each day, it just makes the stay feel more welcoming and personal.
I also have to mention another member of the breakfast team on the 17th. It was Pancake Day and she was encouraging everyone to have pancakes, asking things like “Ooh it’s Pancake Day, are you going to have a pancake?” and “What’s your favourite topping?” It was light hearted, funny and made the atmosphere feel relaxed and human.
A big thank you as well to the bar staff, I believe his name was John, again I could be wrong as I’m better with faces than names. He was lively and lovely throughout. On the first night there was a small disagreement between a man and a woman in the foyer, and the front desk staff handled it calmly and professionally, escorting the woman out of the building and resolving the situation quickly.
The food was amazing too. I really wanted to try the soup of the day and when the chef came out and said it was curried carrot, my first thought was not sure about that. I tried it anyway and wow, it was absolutely delicious. The belly pork noodles with the BBQ Chinese style sauce were just as good.
Would I come back? Yes, absolutely. A genuinely warm team, great food and a comfortable stay.
Very pleasant stay. Staff friendly and kind. Excellent dinner and fabulous breakfast buffet eith both hot and continental choice. Would be happy to stay again....
Stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary with friends on valentines weekend. The staff are so friendly. The hotel has ample parking charged at £10 per night, the bar service and food is very good and reasonably priced. The hotel is situated about 15 mins walk from Newcastle and close to the main bridges. The rooms have tea coffee making facilities, hair dryer, iron, heating and are clean and comfortable with everything you need. I would recommend to other travellers that they mention they want their room cleaning as its not done unless requested. Its also not loud at night and is nice and quiet. Will definitely be recommending this hotel and will stay again!
Brilliant Hotel. Staff are better than 5 star and made us feel like VIP guests. Big shout out to Becky on the front desk. She was fantastic with us. Definitely recommend and will be my go to hotel for future stays.
Hotel was great.. very clean.. staff are great.. really professional and friendly.. always there to help.. overall we had a great stay.. would recommend !
It’s ideal for a walk into the city or a business nights stay has a small gym area. Car charging at decent rate and it’s got all basics you need reasonable menu good breakfast.
The environment was peaceful and welcoming. Staff at the front were friendly. The service was exceptionally good. I liked there room I could see the picturesque of the Gateshead college and other scenic buildings. This provided a more relaxing feeling.
Beautiful place to call home for a little while. Its close location to the Baltic Centre, Millenium Bridge and Gateshead made it very convenient for me to mix work, pleasure and take long, relaxing walks on the Quayside. There were also bus stops close by for when it got too cold for me to walk to Gateshead.
The room had a large and comfortable bedroom and bathroom, with constant hot water and good pressure. The coffee supplies in the little coffee and tea station was replenished almost daily and the towels and bedsheets were changed frequently. Granted, I could hear everyone who came out of the lifts, but every other side of my room were silent, hence the 4/5 rating.
The breakfast buffet will be something I'll miss and the breakfast staff were so helpful and kind, especially Jenny, she was always friendly and chatty. I can try and recreate the buffet feel at home but it won't be the same. Oh and the dinner menu was tasty, especially the black pudding bon bons, pizza and chicken forestiere, highly recommended!
Overall, I'll gladly come back.
The hotel was clean, the staff we encountered were very helpful and polite. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower room was lovely with the shower having a nice spray, also it was clean and spacious with enough towels. The food was plentiful and tasted good.Breakfast was enjoyable with plenty of choice. The food was always filled up promptly .The manager in the restaurant and his staff were very efficient. He also got stuck in with clearing tables and accommodating people., while being polite and helpful. It was nice to see and hear them working as a team. Well done.
I visit here regularly with work, and the lovely Jenny at breakfast remembered my name, is so friendly and always very attentive to all the time and is always happy to be here! You can tell she enjoys her job and it’s nice to see! Have a lovely Xmas all
A really homely hotel, super helpful staff, comfortable rooms, great parking.
Location is fantastic on the quayside.
Great provision within hotel for business (delivering course in meeting room), Jen was absolutely amazing, ensuring we were well looked after, every day for the two week booking. She ensured the room and all facilities and resources were exact to our needs and made everyone on of us feel welcome on a daily basis, often going above and beyond.
Excellent customer service for everything. We have stayed before. Location great for Gateshead and walking over the Millennium Bridge into Newcastle. Family room was great and walk in shower. We will be back again.
Great location right next door to the glass house. Lovely festive atmosphere, reception staff very welcoming and friendly. We had our special request granted. Room was spacious lots of mirrors one full length with good lighting. Plenty of hanging space. Only downside is the toilet /shower room is a wet room so not ideal and would have preferred a bath. Bed is super comfy. Quiet through the night. Would definitely recommend.
I recently stayed at this hotel for seven months, and I can honestly say it felt like a home away from home. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well-maintained throughout my entire stay, but what truly made the experience exceptional was the staff.
From day one, the team was incredibly lovely—friendly, warm, and always welcoming. They greeted me with genuine smiles every morning, remembered the little things that made my long stay easier, and were always happy to help with anything I needed. Their hospitality never wavered, even after months, which says a lot about their dedication and kindness.
Living in a hotel for such a long period could have been challenging, but thanks to the amazing staff and the comfortable environment, it became an enjoyable and memorable experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for not just a place to stay, but a place where you’re truly cared for.
A lovely clean hotel… lovely bar area.. restaurant and all public areas were spotless.. rooms were spacious and very clean.. the room had everything you would need.. staff were all friendly and customer service was excellent!!
To be honest I have no idea where to start or really anything good to say , first impressions were very poor the area was a little rough but I was prepared to overlook that but first impression of the hotel wasn't much better, first thing we were asked on check-in was extra money for the parking charge which is £10 per night , no offer to give is our room key first , whilst waiting there were multiple people pass looking quite intoxicated and being loud, things went worse from there
Entering the lift there was a faint smell of cannabis which hit you like a wall when you exited the lift on the floor where the room was , when we got to the room the smell was apparent all throughout, the seats are stained and filthy toilet not much better when complaining at reception the team showed no concern or interest in our complaints , ended up leaving and finding another hotel as honestly the Ramada was a disaster all round
Lovely staff and vibe throughout and really good food (the short rib was truly excellent). The room was a bit basic with a small TV and an iron and ironing board facing the bed?? The bed was low but very comfortable but I'm nitpicking as the place is a bargain at £60-£80 or so. Would recommend and use again.
Nice clean and modern hotel Staff are very friendly and helpful Breakfast buffet is lovely and I had a omelette another day Small bar with good choice of drinks
Fab hotel.
Ideal location for my visit to the Glasshouse. Convenient on site parking for only £10.
Friendly receptionist - my check in was warm and welcoming and I had a good chat with the receptionist.
