Grand Excelsior Hotel Al Barsha

This was a pleasant hotel. It wasn’t fancy, but it met my needs. The staff were pleasant. The price was reasonable. The bed was a little over firm. The daily breakfast buffet was decent. There was fresh fruit, and an omelette station.

I enjoyed my stay very much. Checkin was quick, room was clean and comfortable. Quiet hotel as well even with a club and bar downstairs. Very relaxing stay.

I had one of the worst experience with the staff of this hotel. I would highly cation considering staying in hotel.

Upon my family arrival, the hotel staff had me wait over 2 hours with keep saying that the room will be ready in next half an hour but with every half hour, they keep extending.

Finally upon checking in, they took my passport information and said it was enough and my family information is not necessary. During my stay, one night at 12am, I received a call from reception very rudely asking with whom I am sharing my room. I told them with my wife. The person tone was extremely rude and demanded that I bring her passport to the reception right away. I told her that I will bring in the morning and hang up. The manager called yelling why don't I bring the passport right away. I told him too, it is midnight and I am very tired. I will bring next morning. He showed up with 4 security guys on the door demanding the information.

They do not seems to have any regards for their guest. It seems they have camera in the room and watching their guests otherwise how would they know who in the room with me. They even have a hole in the safe so they can see what guests are placing in the safe.
The breakfast items were stale too.

Once again, I would caution everyone to choose this hotel. They are watching you in the privacy of your rooms.

It's a good reasonable property and is walkable distance from Mall of Emirates and the metro!

Paid for early check in and late check out - well worth the money

Staff should treat all customers equally regardless of age or race.

Helpful staff, accommodated a late check in which was appreciated. I had informed hotel ahead of this. Stayed in the ambassador suite. Looks amazing in pictures. In reality - it’s tired, old and dirty. Carpet terribly stained, shower leaked so bad that it flooded the bathroom. Bed was uncomfortable. Pool area on roof, small and would get busy if one family used it! And despite being pictured, no fruit in fruit bowl - just an empty bowl on arrival. In its day the room would have been superb, but that day has long gone. Breakfast was middle range, and would be tiresome if staying for more than 1 night.

Housekeeping staff is excellent and approachable very good men i can recommend them to give a salary increase coz they are the nicest men and very polite and kind

The rooms are big and clean. The service is poor. I waited for a long time to get an iron and ironboard.

The hotel was convenient to the Emirates Mall and Metro, good restaurants. Only complaint is they allow smoking in the bar

Great hotel, great price, great location. Only issue was towels not being left following room cleaning. This was resolved by phoning reception to request same. Overall would recommend this hotel.

We last stayed there when it was newly opened. Now the two rooms we were put in look scruffy and in places, very dirty

i booked a suit, supposedly the best they have but unfortunately it was not , the shower is broke , the sink is not working , towels are not available i have to call every day for towels, breakfast is not to expectations. room service was very poor ..
