Amazing! A southern charm right on the water front. Great location in Beaufort, SC. Chris and Suzanne, the owner's, were present and such a delightful couple to share stories of past and present adventures! They have gone all in with their renovations, traditional decor, and hospitality! The staff was phenomenal, down to earth and willing to do whatever it took to make us comfortable. We shared great conversations of where we were from and our journeys through life. The breakfast and social hour eats were top shelf! Chef Megan, ensured our food was prepared according to our health concerns...something you won't find while staying in most hotels. Our room was beautiful and very clean. The shower was large and comforting. The bed was comfortable. I'm a senior with back issues and I prefer a firm mattress. The bed did not feel that firm but was very comfortable and provided a good nights rest. Thank you Megan, Wendy (your restaurant choices were awesome!), Robert, Karen, Mayra, and Liz for your charming personalities and hospitality! We will see you again!

Entire experience was superb. Staff booked us two tours, which were exceptional. Highly recommend Cuthbert House
Relaxed atmosphere. Great southern hospitality and complimentary breakfast. Beautiful and tastefully decorated. Although there were other guest in Inn, it was quiet and comfortable throughout our stay. Staff recommended destinations and even provided State park pass for a day trip.
Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back.
We spent a delightful four nights at the Cuthbert House as an interlude stop between Charleston and Savannah. When visiting city it only makes sense to stay at a beautiful B and B directly river front with unobstructed views,
As a senior couple we decided to opt for the ground floor coast suite with sitting area outside fanned seating and a large bathroom. This worked as it avoided stairs except for breakfast and social hour. We didn't miss out on spectacular views however as the breakfast alcove or veranda during social hour provided them .
Cuthbert house is about a 5 minute stroll into the main part for town for restaurants and activities and parking is plentiful in case you wish to venture further afield.
The served breakfasts and social hour appetizers were delightful. Chris the owner attends the social hours is a wealth of information and insures that all details of operation are attended to. Its not surprising that a number of our fellow guests were return visitors. We are glad we opted for a 4 night stay.
The staff we polite engaging and extremely helpful with great local recommendations. We still owe the chef a Mofongo recipe which will be forthcoming shortly.
Thank you for a great stay!
We spent an evening here with friends! From prearrival to post departure, everything was outstanding! Every member of the staff went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay! Eagerly anticipating our return!
Spectacular experience! Such a beautiful home and so elegantly appointed. The rooms were immaculate, the breakfast delicious and the staff generous, kind and accommodating. The history of the Cuthbert legacy was also fascinating. The parking made it seamless and the welcome award-winning. We look forward to visiting again soon and recommending the Cuthbert House to all our friends passing through SC.
The Cuthbert House is our go to inn when we need some much needed R&R from our B&B on Amelia Island. We love the Coastal room and the patio to sit and enjoy coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon with its fabulous view of the water. An added plus is that it’s pet friendly so our black lab, Sandy, can go with us! The staff is very friendly and even brought Sandy a treat. We will be back!
Beautiful Inn,service, food, decor, location all 5 star. Highly recommend for a couples trip.
Fantastic stay, hospitality was fantastic, recently finished renovation was done very tastefully. Great location, Peyton was a great morning hostess, Manager was attentive and informative.
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Cuthbert House for our anniversary. The owners and staff care about the details, and it shows in every part of your stay, from the decor to the food, and from the hospitality to the socialization opportunities. Quiet, comfortable, beautiful and a fantastic location close enough to walk to everything downtown. Would definitely visit again!
If there was a higher rating than 5 - they would receive it
What a wonderful bed and breakfast!! The details of the house are perfection! From the social hour to the breakfast served and lite snacks provided. The service and hospitality was top notch and we will definitely be back!! I would recommend this beautiful house time and time again for any occasion.
Our stay at the Cuthbert House was wonderful.! The location was perfect for walking in the historic part of Beaufort as well as the shops and restaurants. The atmosphere here was so tranquil and the accommodations are beautiful. We will certainly return soon for another stay!
We were in Beaufort, SC for a wedding and stayed at Cuthbert House with other family members.
It is a beautiful setting and within walking distance of a town filled with restaurants and shops.
The team of Tara and Kathleen made our visit so special. They catered to our every wish and then some. They were very generous with their time, their experiences and their wonderful personalities. We can't say enough about how special this experience was. It was a magical weekend.
Wonderful stay! Charming house with beautiful views! Everything was within walking distance!! Terra Ashley with the Cultbert House made us feel so welcome and did a wonderful jobs serving our breakfasts!! We will be back!
Wonderful location near shops & restaurants, amazing staff, beautiful views, and historic inn has been beautifully restored!
A most marvelous and enjoyable stay in Beaufort at Cuthbert House, just a few blocks from downtown. From the moment we arrived we could not have been better looked after. A delightful room overlooking the water, an invitation to drinks at 5pm and delightful staff to look after us. A leisurely breakfast next morning-actually three of them-completed our perfect stay. If visiting Beaufort, this is your Number 1 destination. We look forward to our return
The location, the welcome, the staff, the grounds, the decor, the breakfast, the guest hour 5-6pm, the historic preservation and historic preservation Cuthbert House is truly t
We stayed at the Cuthbert House April 5–8 and had a wonderful visit. The inn is absolutely beautiful, full of history and has stunning views from the front veranda. Our room (Oaks) was very clean and nicely updated, blending modern comfort with the charm of the historic property.
Breakfast each day was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, and the evening social hour—featuring champagne, beer, wine, and light appetizers—was a perfect way to unwind. The owners, Chris and Suzanne, were incredibly welcoming and made a point to personally greet every guest. We especially enjoyed hearing their stories about the inn’s history and renovations.
The staff was also very friendly and helpful, always available to offer recommendations or assist with anything we needed, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
The location is ideal—just a short, easy walk to downtown Beaufort. We loved borrowing the inn’s bikes to explore the Spanish Moss Trail and the historic district. The added extras, like beach chairs, towels, and a parking pass for our trip to Hunting Island, made everything so convenient.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!
My wife and I spent 2 nights here between stays in Savannah and Charleston in March. We were greeted warmly, with cheerful assistance with our bags. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the beds are comfortable. The grounds are very well maintained.
The evening social hour is a great touch allowing all the guests to meet and mingle over drinks and hors d’oevres. The main front parlor, ‘pub’ area, and rear parlor are also nicely decorated with comfortable chairs as well as antiques.
Morning breakfast was nicely presented and served. The views from the front porch of the water are lovely. EZ walk to shops, restaurants, and surrounding historic neighborhood. We highly recommend the Cuthbert House!
