We stayed here for a week
The room was clean and tidy, the cleaner comes every other day,
The family that own this are amazing and they will go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The staff are great and helpful, The kitchen staff are great and the food is absolutely amazing,
At night there is entertainment. Which is good and never boring.
The pool is clean and a good size, you have a couple of super markets close by and a few minutes walk to the golden coast beach, which is beautiful
We had a fantastic time staying here
And we will be staying here again next year.

Bar visit only. Should be an excellent place. Good set up and plenty of staff. Trouble is, they are all miserable, slow, unmotivated and unhelpful. Went 3 times to keep trying it and then gave up. The bar over the road is so much friendlier and a great visit.

So this place made my holidays the best ones. A huge place with a nice bar! Excellent cocktails and the restaurant has the best food. There is an ice cream shop with the best fruite yogurt. The people there are so kind and friendly! they made our stay even better!

We stayed at Windmills Apartments for a week and had a really good experience overall. We were in one of the newer apartments (room 235), which was very clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff came in almost every second day to tidy up, which we really appreciated.

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, especially the waiters at the bar and restaurant attached to the apartments. The drinks were cheap, the evening entertainment was great, and the pool was big and clean with plenty of sunbeds — perfect for relaxing during the day.

Our apartment had a lovely balcony with an amazing view, and there was a storage area for luggage which was very handy. There’s also lots to do nearby, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance and even a buggy hire place next to the apartments — the owners there are the nicest people ever!

The only downsides were that the sink had a small leak, there was no Wi-Fi in our apartment, and we had to pay €10 per day for air conditioning, which added up over the week. Apart from that, everything was great, and we really enjoyed our stay.

Would definitely recommend Windmills Apartments for anyone looking for a friendly, lively place to stay in Cyprus with lots to do nearby

The hygiene is really poor. We been there for 8 days and we never saw a cleaning lady. I had to ask for the change of the bad sheets. The furniture is so old and dirty, windows cannot be closed, we had two different apartments and in both of them we couldn’t close the bathroom window. Theres nothing in the kitchen of the cooking stools.

I don't often leave reviews unless they are positive. But on this occasion I feel I should. As it may assist other potential visitors. To offer some context my wife is Greek Cypriot and we come to the island every year for a holiday (since 1997) and sometimes to see family. We know the island very well and the people and how they work. This year we were restricted by our budget. As we know Pernera well and have eaten and partied at Windmills we thought we would give it a try. The room was basic with a bad water leak, we were told to put towels down as there was nothing they could do about the leak we would have to deal with it. Didn't offer a room swap or a beer just 'suck it up' there were cockroaches in our room, ac is 10 euros a night on top. We were not offered the breakfast we had paid for, the room was kept clean and the location is good but that's really about it. I would just say be very careful if you're thinking about booking. There is much better around for not too much money. We, sadly wont be back.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, bright, and very clean! We were surprised by the delicious food. The service was first-rate. Special thanks to the waitress, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to help us and organized a surprise cake for my friend. Thank you.

Lovely apartment, very clean, in fact amazingly clean. Although the staff are not overly friendly they are very helpful and will try to solve your issues. The staff are courteous and professional. Love to watch the bats in the garden area especially in the morning when they fly under the terracotta roof tiles .

Amazing place to stay. Pool a 2 minute walk as are the attached bar and restaurant and ice cream parlour. Rooms clean and comfortable nice balcony and air con is optional.

Staff are amazing in all 3 establishments. Cannot fault the food in either the bar or the restaurant.

This is our third time in staying once with our son who was 9. Nothing is too much trouble.

Entertainment in the bar is fun. Reasonably priced food and drinks. We Are looking to return next year with our 2 children.

Bar has TV that shows the major sporting events, but no sound which is great if you want to watch the game and still enjoy the music and entertainment.

Eleni and Anastasis are great. Make you feel really welcome. Having lived on in the island for many years and know what Cypriot hospitality is like this is up there with the best.

The bar has a kids play area with slides climbing frame and some arcade games.

Great place and everything in close proximity. Buses run every 20 minutes or so to protaras/ ayia napa. Fig tree bay half an hour walk but there is pernera beach an 8 minute walk. There is also the harbour where you can get boat trips etc also an 8 minute walk from the apartments.

There is a small church within the grounds. Please remember to be respectful when entering.

I was a bit doubtful of this place due to the reviews but when we arrived I loved the room and the location. Okay, it's a budget hotel and there is no frills but after a few days the cracks appeared. We didn't pay the 10 euros a day for air conditioning as we thought it a bit steep and looking at our unit it didn't look as though it would work anyway (there was a hole in the plastic with soot around it as though it had blown up). As we had a lovely patio area we sat outside and cooled off if it got too hot inside during the night. We booked for 2 weeks. After 9 days our sink, toilet and shower had not been cleaned. I complained to the cleaner and by this time had bought me own cleaning products to do it ourselves. The 'cleaning' consisted of leaving a new sheet folded at the bottom of the bed and emptying the bins. None of the surfaces were wiped or basin cleaned. They only work 5 days a week but in the 14 days we were there we were only 'visited' by the cleaners 8 times, once it was 3 days before our bins were emptied. I complained to the reception and to be fair they cleaned the following day but I shouldn't have to ask, this a is a basic of even budget hotels. It's one of those places where there was a lot of notices, one said the towels would be changed evert 4th day which is not enough in my opinion.
I didn't like the attitude of the staff/owners. They lent me a hairdryer for which there was a 20 euros deposit... which is fine but when I went to use it it had a continental plug and Cyprus has the 3 pin sort like the UK. My partner took it back and they told him to 'buy an adaptor'. He didn't accept this so they eventually gave him one that would work in the room. The first night we arrived they overcharged us for drinks in the bar so we never bought another drink the whole holiday - not a good business tactic.

10 a day for aircon rip off rooms beyond basic avoid! Management get a grip you shouldn't be getting so many bad reviews like this .

Arrived at apartments early hours of August 30th tired and hot .
When I arrived great service from the guy at the reception he booked me in and helped with my luggage great service until I got into my room I couldn't believe it no kettle no hangers for my dresses so basic 2 of everything now I know it is 2 star but I don't think it warrants a 1 star okay it was clean but I made sure I disinfected the room and shower area not quite up to my standards pool area appeared clean no life guard on duty while I was there a lively family were stopping having fun around the pool put so inconsiderate in my opinion free for all so young children in pool not safe quite dangerous.tThe staff were polite except for the blonde lady on reception she needs to take a course in customer care rude and arrogant the grounds are lovely stayed in ground floor apartment so made my stay pleasant I had to ask for clean towers which I didn't get so stopped a cleaner which was a rare site for a clean towel which she gave I know the room was cleaned because it was left how I left it and under the bed there was a unused tampon thankfully ..The bins were at least emptied .I was charged 10 euro a day for Aircon which is quite a lot and told not to leave it on in the day .
I was out all day returning just to shower and sleep so it was okay I could go on but the windmills is a 2 star very very basic I would not recommend if your looking for self catering this is not it it's just a base . Although I enjoyed my holiday I would not return

I got hand gesture to move away from reception, rude bad mannered staff . I dont recommend. We booked in some where else on bookings , so left came back to have our transfers, there was a pool but we refused to give any more money to them , please save your self the hassle , carry on scrolling and find a better holiday ,than this , had your money lump it attitude ,it was like Karen's diner of hotels , Zero stars 🌟 from us

Stayed here for 10 days. We were dubious about staying after reading reviews, but you have to make up your own mind. Rooms do look tired but everything we needed worked. We weren’t in it for most of the day so what does it matter. We were out for meals and drinks every night. Water was hot, beds were clean, we asked for extra pillows and got them on request, as well as towels.
Pool area is clean and chilled, no drama getting a bed.
Windmills food is lovely and has lots of options to choose from as well as artists.
Great location, enough to be going on with locally, or bus or walk into the Protaras strip.
My only negative would be we were staying facing the church (which is stunning) and I could hear the music till late on. Didn’t need air con as we felt room was cool enough.
I would stay again and recommend, it’s just what you want from your holiday.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend

We arrived at the hotel at 2am, only to find our room in a very poor condition. It was dirty, and the air conditioning — which we paid an additional €10 per night for — barely worked. The following morning, we went to reception to explain that the room was both unsuitable and unclean. They sent a cleaner, but after five separate attempts, the room was still not properly cleaned. In the end, we purchased our own cleaning products and cleaned it ourselves.

The furnishings, bed, and bathroom looked like they hadn’t been updated since the 1970s. To make matters worse, we found cockroaches and ants in the room. When we reported this, a staff member shrugged it off, saying it was “the season.” She then spoke in Greek to the cleaner, saying the room had been cleaned and there were no cockroaches — not realizing that I understood everything. When I responded in Greek, she was visibly surprised and said, “Oh, you speak Greek,” to which I replied, “Yes.”

We asked daily to be moved to a different room, but after seven days of being ignored or fobbed would not stay here again and would definitely not recommend

We arrived early hours of Tuesday morning as 2 adults and 1 child. Upon arrival I handed over my hotel booking confirmation and they couldn’t find my booking, eventually after almost an hour they found my booking under the wrong name and for 1 person. The guy on reception showed us to our room even though he knew it was only suitable for 1 person and he left instantly. I flew back round to reception and asked them to change our room. He was dealing with another complaint so we had to wait another 30 mins, by this point it was almost 4am which isn’t easy when we have an autistic child with us. He took my keys and came back after 20 mins to say he’d put a camp bed up for us when this room was small enough before the bed went up, my partners little brother was on a camp bed which was squished up next to the door, I complained further and was told there was nothing they could do regarding a room change. The following day we got talking to multiple families around the pool and they had also put complaints in due to a lack of cleanliness and safety in the rooms, all these families agreed that the hotel was to a poor standard and the staff were very poor dealing with these incidents. We booked a self catering room and were expecting facilities to prepare our own meals, however this was not the case. All we had was 2 glasses and 2 mugs which weren’t any use as we had no kettle. We had no cutlery or even any plates. The fridge didn’t work so we weren’t able to use it. We tried the hotel bar for breakfast one morning. We ordered drinks and food together and when our food came out we still had no drinks, we waited 30 mins for our drinks, even though they were serving drinks to other tables but told us the system was down. Me and my partner had a full English breakfast which gave us both a really bad stomach. Our room was like prison cell, considering we had one of the recently renovated rooms it was a disgrace. There was no safe, no TV, no catering facilities, not enough chairs on the balcony area, not enough pillows or towels. We requested more pillows and towels when we arrived and were told to come back tomorrow and we still didn’t receive enough after we asked. The cleaner came to our room once during our 5 night stay and this was the day before we were leaving. The aircon was €10 per day however the aircon unit in the room was absolutely filthy, it was yellow so we bought fans from over the road instead as lots of people mentioned they’d paid and it doesn’t even work. The mattress they used on the camp bed had a big hole in it. The room hadn’t been deep cleaned as there was plastic tags, hairs and dirt beside the bedside table. This was our first time in Cyprus and we are absolutely devastated that this hotel ruined our first experience. It just got worse as the days went on. We certainly won’t return and would definitely not recommend! We certainly aren’t the only family who felt this way! Massive waste of money!

We are on our last day of our holiday at windmills apartments and I really don't want to leave, I absolutely love it here the staff are really friendly and helpful the facilities are good, lovely swimming pool which is immaculate, lovely local area with plenty of shops and restaurants, the beach a short walk away, protaras town is a short bus ride away which only costs 2 euros, really bustling there which was great but also lovely to be able to go back to our lovely peaceful apartments , we will definitely be returning, thankyou windmills staff xx

We spent 7 wonderful days at the hotel, met wonderful staff, ate great food, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Good thing -there is no internet in the apartments, and we liked it ...to sleep peacefully.
There is excellent internet in the restaurant, pub and at the pool.

The beach is 10 minutes away, sandy, the water in the sea is warm and clean.

Plenty of markets, shops, restaurants, pharmacies nearby. There is also a polyclinic.

And let's not forget, the recommendation to try the waffles,pancakes and lava cakes next to the restaurant.

We stayed in studio which was lovely and clean and cleaned every day. Hotel was not very busy so plenty of sun beds. My only criticism is the air con. We paid €100 euros for 10 nights and it was pathetic. We had to get the maintenance guy to come fix it twice . They said it was not broke but their was hardly any air coming out of it. I would recommend taking your own fans instead of wasting money on air con

2nd visit to The Windmills, welcomed by everyone as a returning guest. The whole team are so friendly and helpful all the time. Lovely studio appartment, clean and tidy. The pool is great always clean & appealing. The bar & restaurant menus are fantastic and the food is always great. Can't wait for the next visit ❤️
