When I last stayed there it was during a heat wave and my room had no A/C at all. Even though they assured me I was wrong and it was working, it was not. My room was over 25+ degrees and I had to buy two fans in order to stay cool enough. My 2 other sisters stayed in rooms the same weekend and one said she had no A/C either but my other sister did have A/C so I don’t know. The service man did come to have a look but he thought it just needed to be re-set but such was not the case. When I called the front desk they told me it was impossible that my A/C wasn’t working because it’s all on the same system. Well I’m the one in the room so I’d know if it was working or not. I’ve stayed at this hotel a thousand times over the years and typically it’s good overall. I think some things like the A/C obviously need to be updated.

The security deposit is quite high
$250 per room is crazy when you book more than one room. Other than that it's good for the price.

ICK! That's how I feel after having stayed here. This hotel is disgustingly filthy, outdated and in need of a bulldozer. I will admit that the staff at the front desk, housekeeping, attached restaurant and pub were pleasant but that's the only positive. The foyer was quite dirty with tracked in dirt and stones. The hallway carpets are extremely old and FILTHY. Stains and discoloration everywhere. We reserved a non-smoking room (unsure hotels are even allowed to have smoking in them anymore anyways) but when we opened the door to our room, I immediately felt like I licked an ashtray. My mouth was seriously dry and the smell was nauseating. All furniture and parts of the room were extremely outdated and not in good condition. The bathroom wallpaper looked to be from the 80s and had stains on it which I'm sure could be cleaned off. The plate on the door by the lock had who knows what on it but visibly dirty. The little deck out the 2nd door overlooking the pool area looked to have the original carpeting on it.. so filthy and covered in cigarette burns.. there was a piece of metal that was completely broken in half just on the other side of it that I saw that made me feel unsafe to be out there. The adjoining deck had a bucket on it collecting water from a leak from some piping up above and the carpet seemed to be in the same disrepair. Green material growing on glass blocks in pool area. Ceiling tiles in halls discolored and sagging. Ceiling in our room sagging.

Beds were comfortable, cleanliness however was questionable. The 2nd floor balcony overlooking the pool was covered in gum. The lady at the front till had about the same problem solving skills of a sheep and was very confrontational.

I didn't experience anything at the hotel. They took one look at my address and told me because I live in the Battlefords, they will not rent to residents. I explained to them that this is my wedding night and that I have a sitter for my children, but she said it was their policy. I am never supporting any of the businesses in that building, nor any of their franchises.

No complimentary breakfast but the Smittys was fine.

Very friendly bar staff, front desk girl wasn’t sure what to do about the cigarette burned bedspread. Manager did deal with it next morning immediately (not charged damage deposit)
