Pros:

Bathroom has mould and smells really bad and my son developed allergies. He went there for his exams days. He completed many times but no response. Very poor customer service.

Pros:

As former graduates, we were naturally delighted to be able to stay once more on the campus of the University of Kent (at Canterbury), UKC. It's certainly developed the intervening 53 years! We were particularly impressed by how the University has been able to put key buildings into every available space, without making the site feel overcrowded. The freezing winds, whistling directly from Siberia, have now met their match in the (almost) completed campus. We were even able to go down to town for a curry; we got taxis, but the regular bus service is just as good.

Our accommodation was certainly an improvement on what we left behind in 1972, with considerably better facilities in our student bedroom than we had been used to, including very generous cupboard space and a large double bed (presumably a nod to the fact that students have sex lives, which was never admitted in our day!). But for students to do anything more that study and copulate in their rooms, they could do with an extra chair or two so their friends can sit and chat; or a bed that they could sit on. Ours was far too high for that; indeed as 75 official old farts, we could barely climb up to go to sleep. So a small plea when re-equipping: smaller, lower double beds and more chairs. Other than that, we wouldn't want to change a thing.

So excellent value for money, by no means the most luxurious place you could book in the Canterbury area but certainly the best value.

Good for student accommodation
Pros:

We stayed at the accommodation as we were attending the University open day, so it was good to be on site and to walk around the campus before the open day started.

The accommodation is essentially a student room so its basic and the bed is well used and uncomfortable. The room was clean however and had the basics of what you needed for a short stay.

Esperienza budget in un dormitorio universitario
Pros:

Altrimenti cercate altro.

Pros:

This is great value budget accommodation and would be my first choice over well known national providers should I visit Canterbury again. It's a campus style university so be prepared to walk to the car park or restaurant but the layout and landscaping is nice and neither were too far away anyway. We went for a couple of lovely walks through the grounds during our stay. The breakfast was good with what looked like a number of tastes catered for. Throughout our stay, staff were pleasant and helpful.

Pros:

Very convenient access to Canterbury - buses run from the campus every 15 minutes or so into the centre of town. Wonderful friendly waitress in the restaurant. Very uncomfortable mattresses on the beds. Hot water was off for one of the days we were there. Breakfast expensive for what it was and uninspiring.

Relive your student days?
Pros:

You need to understand that you are staying in student accommodation here so just expect a basic but adequate room, for example there is no TV and the ensuite is quite small. Towels, tea and coffee making facilities and small bag of toiletries are included. Free parking is available onsite but we found when busy we had to park further away. Overall a good stay and we would certainly stay here again.

Pros:

Lovely view of Canterbury Cathedral from the campus, and pleasant walks. A few inconsiderate people arrived on our second night making lots of noise and leaving cigarette ends all over the floor instead of placing in the provided bin. Other than that a most enjoyable stay.
