Excellent Hotel, highly recommended!
Pros:

Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Laura was great. We received a very nice upgrade. Nice, fresh hotel, very clean. Great breakfast buffet + many a la carte options to choose from.
Great location by the port. Very convenient with a grocery store next door. We had a wonderful stay!

Cons:

Only a minor thing. It would have been nice to have a couple of hooks in the hallway to hang your jackets on.

Excelente estadia, boa localização
Pros:

A localização é excelente, mesmo na marginal com vista mar, o quarto disponha de uma boa área com excelente comodidade, higiene e conforto. O staff foi sempre simpático e atencioso. Completo pequeno almoço com produtos locais.

Não tenho nada a apontar de negativo, pelo contrário só tenho que tudo em geral

Óptimo para uma noite. Experiência boa.

O quarto tinha uma vista fabulosa.
Tinha aluns pontos com humidade mas é normal com atmosfera.
A cama tinha alguns ruídos, mas nada de transcendente.
A banheira era óptima mas não adequada para pessoas idosas.
O pequeno almoço era excelente.
Os funcionários muito simpáticos.

Pros:

We absolutely loved the hotel and ended up extending our stay for two more days. Everything was perfect — especially the front desk staff, who were incredibly helpful, kind, and professional. I really wish I had taken their names to thank them personally. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The only small note is that the breakfast could use more variety, but overall it was still fine. As an experience, I truly enjoyed it and would definitely consider coming back again.

Unbeatable location with best of downtown: Marina and historical center - next to all amenities
Pros:

Gaivota's location is unbeatable since it is both central and with sea view first line. So you get a gorgeous marina view or location without sacrificing being also right next to downtown amenities such as historical places, old town, marina restaurants, supermarkets, rental car agencies, etc. The rooms have been modernized and are full of little touches such as complimentary local cakes, water, nespresso, tips for enjoying the stay and so forth. The breakfast is great with both bufffet and a la carte included for each person. So you can get some fruit and local bread plus order eggs benedict or fantastic omlets. It is right next to a supermarket so you can have some meals inside enjoying the view or hop into a car since the rental car agencies are right next to it to go explore the island including hot baths in furnas or caldeira velhas, using towels provided by the hotel. Hotel reception workers are all locals and very nice to accommodate your requests. They have agreement with nearby park to park the car for 5 to 10 euros a day so pretty reasonable for central location.
