Ich komme bestimmt wieder!
Pros:

Tolle Lage und trotzdem ruhig. Zudem gab es noch ein Upgrade in eine Junior Suite.

Restaurant am Abend auch sehr nett, gute und passende Preise.

Pros:

BARCELO har en perfekt beliggenhed når man vil opleve Hamborg til fods. Det ligger tæt på hovedbanegården, indkøbsgaderne og seværdigheder. Vi ankom i bil og kunne parkerede i Hotellets egen parkering kæder for 27€ pr døgn.
Hotellet er meget roligt, ingen gadestøj eller andet. Vi vil helt sikker benytte os af BARCELO næste gang vi skal besøge Hamborg.

Least service-oriented reception ever!
Pros:

You are in the hospitality business, yet some of your reception staff are among the least service-oriented people I have encountered.

Your sauna is officially available until 23:00, as stated in your standard service offering. Therefore, I went to the sauna at 22:15. However, it was not running or not working. After waiting for a while and not being able to figure out how to switch it on, I went to reception in my sauna bathrobe to ask for assistance.

Instead of helping, the response I received was simply:
“Sauna ist vorbei, komm morgen.”

Seriously? Is this how you speak to guests? No attempt to check, no “leider”, no apology, no willingness to support, not even a basic level of professionalism. Just a flat “no”.

Nice hotel close to Hamburg train station and city center
Pros:

We had a great stop - close to the station, nice breakfast and recommendation to a lovely gasthaus just down the road. Biggest and most luxurious bed ever !!! Very friendly and helpful staff so overall we were happy with our stay.
