City Square Motel

The room was dirty. Marks on the back of the doona cover. Mattress was very tired and support not good. The TV could not be made to work and kept showing no signal on the screen. Room window filthy dirty

The rooms are basic.
Our room did not have a door on the bathroom!

It was small, was meant to be a queen room, but I got a single room.
The room was dirty, dust everywhere, hair in the bed, Mirror not cleaned, walls had spills on them.
Stuff from previous person left in the fridge.
Went to staff to change rooms, they denied.
If I could have got accommodation else where I would have got a refund and left. But being Aus GP week Melbourne was booked out.

Room doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned ever, lights in shower didn’t work

Room had nasty mould patches and the hall lights all flickered constantly

Management was unfriendly & unhelpful. Reception desk seemed hardly attended. A SECURITY INCIDENT when someone tried to get into my room at night. This person was NOT a Motel guest who forgot their Room number, but a homeless person who had previously stayed at this Motel and kept the Room key. He followed a guest into the Motel when they entered after-hours via the locked entry door. My door was well and truly locked, but I was left feeling frightened and uneasy for the remainder of my 7 days stay. MOULD in bathroom (basin, shower recess and shower door) and in the upper door seal of the bar fridge (see photos). DIRTY MICROWAVE with food encrusted on the ceiling of the machine. DIRTY & DUSTY CARPET, even after I complained and asked for it to be vacuumed, but nothing was done (see photos). DIRTY & UNACCEPTABLE LAUNDRY FACILITIES. I was taken to a secure area on the 7th floor for the washing machine which was in a very messy and dirty room. The tumble dryer (with a very full and dirty un-emptied filter) was in another room on the 3rd floor, with graffiti on the walls and the machines, and a filthy floor (see photos). The smoke alarm in my room was NOT WORKING (which surely is illegal) because there was no pilot-light showing. The Air-Conditioning unit, which also supposedly functioned as an air purifier, was so DUSTY & DIRTY that I doubted its effectiveness. This Motel is truly dodgy, dirty, and totally unpleasant.

Carpet wasnt clean, very dusty and dirty especially in the corners, ac was broken, one small light in bathroom (so very dark in the shower) not suitable if youre over 5'10 as shower head is very low and toilet very close to door. Also me and multiple people stood in the reception for 20 minutes waiting for someone to check us in.

Room was not clean, the aircon was full of dust as well as the vent in the bathroom, the perimeter of the carpet was filthy like it hadn't been cleaned in months. there was a very musty smell through the whole building. Did not enjoy my stay, I left early and went to a much better hotel for the remainder of my time in Melbourne

I have stayed here many times. Location is great and it’s usually very good value for money. However I feel maintenance isn’t being kept up as it should be anymore. Stayed in room 424. The fridge had been leaking water so the carpet was wet and mouldy and the whole room smelt terrible. First time I’ve had any real complaints with the motel

Room was a disgrace on there 30mins and had to leave broken pipe, mould, dirty sheets, couch had stains you don't what to know about, room has not been clean.

Price, Cleanliness, Beds, Air conditioning (or lack of)

Broken glass in the entryway was there for our whole stay, cleanliness was ok, tv was plugged into a power socket that was hanging off the way with wires exposed. Good location, but that is the only thing going for it.

Room wasn't clean look like it was slept in and there was a smashed crack pipe on the bedside table

Appeared to be mould in the shower. Pillow very flat and lumpy. Otherwise relatively clean.

Cleaning is very poor..everything else is good
