The Fern Gir Forest Resort, Sasan Gir - A Fern Crown Collection Resort

We had an excellent time at the resort with our family! From the comfortable in-room stay to the fun play area and delicious dining options, everything was top-notch.
The hospitality was truly impressive, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Highly recommended for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

Everything was excellent. Four star because of issues with prechecking. Hotels.com agreement was to pay at the property. Also they had my credit card information to charge if we don't canceled before allowable time.
They send me their bank information to transfer funds week before while we were traveling outside US.
Then they sartrd calling asking for OPT number.
My us credit card don't provide OPT.
They acted like they never had foreign citizen stay at their property. Afterfew phone calls. I told them I will provide valid credit card at chek in. I also called hotels.com. they instructed never transfer money. This was frustrating to deal with while traveling away from home. This was not expectrd from a 5 star property carging US $200+ per night.
After this everything went smooth when we checked in.

Hotel is in an excellent location for jungle safari. Plenty of activities and very good service and hotel. Nice to stay a few days if possible in the peace and quiet. Spa was very good too.

The property is good. The staff behaviour needs improvement, found unauthorised entry of a staff member inside our room while we were not there.

There are plenty options in Gir to stay at. However, most of them are locally owned and operated. There are just couple of nationally recognized chain names here. Fern is one of them.

I stayed there for 2 weeks straight.

Condition of this hotel needs improvement.
Rooms given to us had bugs in it. They fumigated with chemicals and we had to stay there for a night. Condition didnt improve, so they relocated us in different zone.

1 out of 2 rooms I had suffered AC issue. It wasnt cooling well. They tried fixing for about 7 days but didnt fix the problem entirely.

Breakfast food quality was mediocre. Staff does need lot of training.

Very nicely design and feel like you are in the resort and easily spend three four night.

Very good place to stay when in Sasan Gir to see the Lions. The rooms are nice and clean. Food served in the restaurant is very good. Staff is very cooperative.Did not take their help to see the Lions so cannot comment on their competence to do that.

Only reco is that the Bathrooms can do a bit of makeover, specially the shower knobs. It is either very hot water or cold water. Getting warm water is a bit of a struggle.

Toilets and power points need updating to accommodate new generation connectivity for charging and overseas visitors.
Smelling of sewer in the bathroom wasn’t pleasant. Otherwise it was a very good experience especially considering it is inside a national park!!

The stay was very nice and comfortable. The evenings around the pool side were fabulous. Thee food was very good.

This property is fabulous . Here stay is worthwhile.Staff is so helpful that you could not feel strange yourself.

We loved everything about this place. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The food was great. Would recommend it to everyone and would love to come back again

Cottage washroom photo shown on hotels.com website is actually the washroom of suite room and misguided me during booking. We were three adults in one cottage. The double bed was having friction noises while we change our sleeping position. Extra bed too has the same noise. In addition the fan was making very disturbing noise and could not let me sleep calmly. Property and food is good otherwise.

The ambience of the resort is amazing with 2 mini lotus ponds and with lots of trees which attract birds. It is a pretty little resort with good hospitality. When we checked in, they asked us how our journey was. All phone requests for supplies or help with electronics to the reception were taken care of very well. We stayed in a tent which was comfortable.

The spa services are good too. The Riverside restaurant was closed when we went however the Banyan Tree Restaurant is a good restaurant with a local tribe person playing a Ravanahatta so melodiously.

There are tea/coffee/mocktail services to the pool too so one can enjoy sipping tea in the pool.
The breakfast buffet which was complimentary for us had a wide variety of items and was pretty good.

Overall, our resort experience was pleasant. I would highly recommend this resort to someone who is visiting the Sasan area.

Real issue is the sound. The tents are ny the roadside and you can not sleep in the night

if you are going to stay in Gir, and if your budget allows - DEFINITELY STAY IN THIS HOTEL ONLY. no questions asked hand down best resort in Gir. maintained grounds. good location. food is very very good.

the only con would be - some mosquitos in the room. being a jungle I am not how much control does the hotel have over it. would suggest carrying something for mosquitos - repellent, whatever different products available.

The front desk staff was exceptionally good. My stay was for 3 nights, but I saw everything there to see, and ask hotel if I can check out one day early. My booking was through Expedia, and they had to get in touch with them to get it approved. I did not have much hope, and was prepare to pay for 3 nights. But at check out front desk has contacted Expedia and got it approved for 2 nights and I only paid for 2 nights. Job well done in India. I trust Firn Gir Hotel will commend the front desk staff for Job well done.
Also at restaurant, a female employee named Soni was very good. Always had a smile on her face, and greeted us with a warm welcome. Overall good stay and good staff.

We did not expect to stay in the middle of a forest. It is a tent room with all comforts one can expect in the middle of a forest. Very comfortable with wi-fi, TV etc and the hotel staff were very courteous and accommodated our late arrival and had fantastic stay.
