The Mere Golf Resort & Spa

I attended the spa for a facial and full body massage. I felt like I was on a conveyor belt, there was no personalisation to treatments. Although the therapists themselves were good, at £200 for the half day, I was disappointed that a 'full body massage' only included the back and legs and not arms, feet etc. I have been to many spas and this is the first time I have been told by a therapist that a full body massage is not actually that. More disappointingly, I complained to the hotel, and never heard back from them, even after following up - so much for a 5 star hotel and customer service! I will not be returning.

Had a lovely spring spa session with my partner. The lovely Enisha gave me a back and shoulder massage that was perfect for what I needed, relaxing but enough pressure to slowly slip away a few knots. After the message was a facial, again lovely! Facilities are great and definitely worth it!

Just had an incredible massage from EMILY! She is very talented & really lovely too! The whole visit using the facilities has been great.start to finish. The facilities are great.& all the staff are kind and friendly. An asset to your business. Would definitely recommend.

Had an amazing experience at thhe Mere spa.
Came down for a festive getaway with my wife and had a fantastic treatment to a special shout out to Beth from the spa! Felt so much better after having the treatment.

Wow. I have driven past the entrance several times over a number of years and I was invited here to celebrate a birthday, it didn't disappoint. It is currently being renovated so you have to get into the car park a slightly different way. The whole experience is another level. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted and made to feel that they were expecting us as everything was well organised. They sat us in the bar area with glasses of water until we were ready and then gave us a little tour of the facilities. Brilliant. Treatments were very relaxing and worth the time. Afterwards, we had use of the spa area and it was perfect. There were not many people there so it was very enjoyable and we could use the areas that we wanted to visit at leisure.

Amazing massage from an excellent therapist, professional and her expertise was fantastic. I felt amazing afterwards and would visit again for the same treatment. Reception and pool team I spoke with were also lovely. The rest of the day was spoiled in parts by a group of women drinking and shrieking, dragging sun loungers around, hogging areas of the spa and generally behaving as it they were the only people in there and not giving two hoots about anyone else; could they talk non-stop any louder?!. Plus a few men on mobiles having loud conversations by the pool; it’s spa not an office! Whole place is being refurbished soon and I hope they ban mobiles and carefully monitor client behaviour, so everyone can enjoy the spa, because the clue is in the title, ‘spa’ a place of rest and relaxation.

We took our 3 children to the Christmas Festive lunch but unfortunately we were not told the meal would be held in the makeshift club house. We were surrounded by golfers and sat next to the golf shop.
We were made to pay for our drinks as soon as we ordered them which was bizarre.
The food was OK but for the price we paid (and it was our first outing with our 5 week old daughter) the experience was more than terrible.
As a place I have stayed at a number of times and also used the spa more than 5 times over the last couple of years I won’t be going back.

Went to meet golf friends at The Mere for a drink when they had Their Captain’s and President’s competition, what a lovely friendly atmosphere and thank you to Sue for a fabulous welcome and making us feel so welcome for our few hours there , it really was a lovely couple of hours with fantastic service

My partner and I visited the Spa on a Thursday for a Serenity Spa day. We were greeted at the reception by a friendly and welcoming member of staff, Sarah Jayne. She explained that we could use the spa, confirmed what time our treatments were booked, asked what time we'd like to take our afternoon tea and handed us towels and robes for our stay. The spa was excellent! The plunge pool was the perfect temperature and a good size, the steam room was amazing and the sauna was fabulous. I had a treatment and it was the best, Bethany knew exactly where the knots were and eased them out expertly. The afternoon tea was delicious and our dietary needs were attended to with ease - the warm scones were a delight for the taste buds. James and the team in the spa were all friendly, welcoming, and made the day feel very special. All in all it was a remarkable spa day.

I have been a Health Club member for the past few months. The facilities are excellent, but what really separates The Mere from other places are the wonderful staff. They are so friendly and will do everything they can to make every visit feel special. This is embodied by James, whose levels of service are up there with the best I have experienced in hospitality. I would recommend him to anybody and the Health Club would not be the same without him. I hope he stays here for a long time!

We booked for afternoon tea and although the hotel itself is closed for a refurb, we still received the best treatment in a separate pop up restaurant on the hotel grounds. They made the interior look lovely and the staff were so friendly, I didn't take the lady's name who served us but she was so welcoming and looked after us well. It was our second afternoon tea at the Mere and we will definitely be returning.

I bought a spa day at the Mere for a friend’s 40th. I wanted to write a review as the service and staff were so lovely at the Mere. The lady who did my treatment (massage and facial) was excellent and I felt thoroughly relaxed. All the reception and bar staff were friendly and very helpful. The place is really nice, well maintained and quiet. The changing rooms and general facilities are great. We had the best day. I would recommend the groupon spa deal (it includes afternoon tea and prosecco) very highly!

Had a spa day with a friend. We had been looking forward to this for a long time. We met Martin when we arrived and he was so kind, got us a well deserved hot drink after being stuck in traffic and even helped us take pictures.

The pool area was quiet with not too many people around so we got to enjoy all of the areas and relax.

Evy did my treatment and it was amazing and my friend had Emily, again he enjoyed his treatment and we both felt so relaxed.

I have been before and Will definitely come back. The team at the Mere resort spa make it. Must visit!

We booked a spa day with a treatment and afternoon tea as a special treat for our friend before her wedding. We were all very impressed with everything! The afternoon tea was delicious, the treatments were divine and so relaxing and we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet and free from kids the place was on a Saturday. A welcome change to other spas.

Booked afternoon tea and treatments at the mere spa in April. I had a Lovely facial and massage from Evie who was a lovely lady and it made the entire experience. I would definitely recommend her and would book to go again the treatments where amazing!

Fantastic spa day. Great facilities. All very clean. I went there mid week and it was almost empty at times during the day. Lovely friendly staff. Rosie on reception was really welcoming and Evie the spa therapist gave a brilliant massage. The afternoon tea included on my deal was good and so was the glass of Prosecco! I recently visited the Mere Golf resort at Knutsford. The weather was cold and wet but in the Golf bar, it was warm and homely. The service was amazing and so so friendly. A huge shout out to Sue and Chelsea at the Club bar. Both made me feel very welcome. Great smiles, great service and I will certainly be back. Nige

This would’ve been a five star review if there had been more beds available around the pool.
We had a groupon deal.. the facilities and staff were amazing. The treatments are brilliant and the afternoon tea was lovely.
I complained about the beds, as there were eight that were not used for over an hour, yet they had towels on them, left by other customers, which meant nobody else could use them.
Hopefully they will make more beds available in the future.

On a recent visit to the Mere Spa I booked a back massage. The treatment was carried out by Aneesha. Prior to my massage Aneesha did an assessment of my needs and explained how she would perform the massage.
I have had massages in Hotel Spas throughout the world but I found my experience with Aneesha at the Mere to be the best I have had and I felt great after the treatment.
