A beautiful hotel in a stunning location
Pros:

As a frequent guest at RIU properties, I had slight reservations about the decor after reading a few online comments, especially ahead of the upcoming late-2026/early-2027 refurb. I needn't have worried. The furnishings are classic, impeccably maintained, and solid quality throughout.

The hotel's setting is phenomenal—peaceful, scenic, and easily one of the most relaxing places I’ve visited. If you want to head out, Corralejo town centre is a quick, inexpensive taxi ride (under €10) packed with shops and restaurants.

Food and drinks were top-tier with plenty of choice. Interestingly, we found the main restaurant even better than the à la carte Kristal. We will definitely be booking another stay.

Best Hotel Team we have ever encountered
Pros:

As you will read the hotel is a bit tired which no one in the hotel disputes however the hotel will close in October 2026 until April 2027 for a full refurbishment to bring things up to date. The government will pay the staff a furlough type wage during the closure, similar to what happened in the UK during Covid hence they will retain there amazing team, fingers crossed.

On arrival check in was smooth, they offer you a complimentary drink while they just input a few details on to there system. They explain the free Wi-Fi details and someone takes you to your room with your luggage and will answer any questions you may have. The back bone of this hotel is there staff as they are truly amazing as most people say and I will mention a few by name later in my review as they went that extra mile for us.

There was plenty of choice at the restaurant buffet ranging from freshly cooked dishes containing fish, meat or veggie to pizzas, pastas etc. They have gluten free sections and to be honest if you need help with dietary conditions please let them know as they will help. I have diabetes and they made me fresh sugar free Crepes in the morning when I wanted them, they had low sugar jams etc and I was well catered for. We used the Krystal al la Carte restaurant when we were there and again the food was very good and service impeccable.

The hotel was immaculately clean everywhere but in quite a secluded area but perfect for relaxing but if you want a bit more activity Correlejo town is about 2 miles away which there is a number 6 bus you can catch for €1.40 each way or €10 in a taxi. Reception have maps and bus time tables which they are happy to provide you with.

The hotel is actually on the beach itself and the beach has white powder like sand. This is the first time I have encountered a warm sea at any of the Canaries islands.

The only small gripe was is the All Inclusive cocktails are pre mixed hence you don’t see anyone making cocktails and to be honest they have to much sugar in them for us. You also can’t get a Latte with the All Inclusive option which considering how much extra you pay and the cost for additional milk seems a bit mean from RIU. However they did make me my favourite cocktail a Dry Vodka Martini with Olives every night. Although we never used the snack bar area for All Inclusive is very poor and un manned and should be reviewed by RIU.

To be honest we don’t usually do beach holidays but our experience at this hotel has made us seriously think of returning after the Refurb as we were made to feel special and welcome.

We would just like to thank Ulysses the Restaurant Manager for accommodating my diabetes requests and always checking everything was okay.

Ayoze who worked in the restaurant who always greeted us and was always accommodating and always had time for a little chat and looked after us at every sitting.

Guacie who made my Dry Vodka Martini fresh every time I needed one and if she wasn’t there she left clear instruction of how to prepare my drink for me.

Without a doubt the star of the show was Indira who worked at reception. From checking to leaving she was truly amazing. Indira ensured our mini fridge in the room was stocked with Coke Zero instead of full sugar Coke. Indira gave us loads of local information and was always pleasant, professional, very caring and always had time to chat and check on how our holiday was going. Indira is one of the reasons we are definitely contemplating a return to the RIU Palace Tres Islas. We do think Indira will excel in her career and hope RIU recognise her for the wonderful service she gives. Thank you Indira.

This hotel after refurbishment and if the team stay will be outstanding and we would like you to wish you all good luck for the future.

Another Amazing Family Holiday at Tres Islas
Pros:

This is the second time we have stayed here as a family of three. Whilst the hotel bedrooms are looking tired now they are perfectly comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food is the best all inclusive we have had with outstanding daily choice and rotation. Drinks and entertainment are ok too, but it is the amazing staff here that makes the holiday so wonderful. I’ll miss seeing some of the staff who feel like friends now and are a credit to the RUI brand. Highly recommended

3 Girls! 2 nights ! Exceptional
Pros:

Yes — definitely too many “exceptionals”! I’d make it sound a little more natural and less repetitive:

I went to Riu Tres Islas with two friends for a little two-night break, and we had such a lovely stay.

We each booked our own room, which was the perfect size for one person. I have stayed here before, but I have to say I was particularly impressed this time.

The real standout for us was **the staff**. From reception to the buffet and the à la carte restaurant, they were absolutely wonderful — friendly, welcoming, attentive and professional. They really do make a huge difference to the whole experience.

I’m not normally a huge fan of buffets, but as buffets go, this was very good, with plenty of choice. The wine was actually quite decent for an all-inclusive and the cocktails were lovely too.

The **à la carte restaurant was a real highlight**. It wasn’t open the last time I stayed, so this was a first for me, and we were really impressed. The food was excellent and, once again, the staff were fantastic.

The whole hotel is also spotlessly clean.

The hotel is due to close in October for six or seven months for a refurbishment, and I do think it will benefit from it as some areas are looking quite tired. But that honestly didn’t take away from our enjoyment of the two days at all. We had a great little break.

Living in Lanzarote, it is so easy for us to pop over to Fuerteventura for a couple of nights, and we will definitely be back. I’m really looking forward to seeing Riu Tres Islas after the refurbishment.

But most of all, a huge compliment to the staff. They really made our stay and are a credit to the hotel. EXCEPTIONAL.

Very Good, but could do with some anti-bug devices
Pros:

It was our third stay at the Riu Palace Tres Islas as we had found the Oliva Beach quality dropping recently, however in common with the Oliva Beach, and our other favourite, the Buena Vista in Tenerife, they have a very relaxed attitude to flies and food. At one point serving fresh salmon, a large fly was wandering around the side of the tray and the cook was just stood there; it was only when I waved my hand that he reacted and did the same. They have no UV lighting subtly placed around the edges of any restaurant (in any of the three hotels that I mentioned) and as such fresh food, is not always so fresh!

Also for the first time, there ere constant issues with the lifts, with one morning all four out of order, and whilst we have become used to one of the three in the Oliva Beach always out of order, we expect better at this hotel.

Super Staff
Pros:

We recently stayed at this hotel as a family group consisting of my wife, daughter, 7-year-old grandson and myself, and we had a wonderful holiday.

The biggest highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the staff. Every member of the team was consistently friendly, welcoming and helpful. Whether it was the reception staff, waiters, bar staff or housekeeping team, everyone greeted us with a smile and genuinely seemed to care that guests were having a good time. Their positive attitude and willingness to help really made our holiday special.

We stayed on an all-inclusive basis and were very pleased with the food and drinks on offer. The menu was varied throughout our stay, the food was freshly prepared, and the overall quality was excellent. There was plenty of choice to suit different tastes, and we always found something enjoyable to eat.

The hotel itself is a little dated in places, but we understand that a major refurbishment is planned for later this year. Given the excellent service and facilities already available, we can only imagine how impressive it will be once the renovation is complete.

The only issue we experienced was the reserving of sunbeds. Guests were getting up very early to place towels on beds, despite the hotel website clearly stating that this is not allowed. To be fair, the staff did their best to help us find alternative beds whenever possible and handled the situation professionally. While it was frustrating, it certainly did not spoil our holiday.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would like to thank all of the staff for their hard work and kindness. They are a real credit to the hotel and were the main reason our holiday was so enjoyable. We would happily recommend this hotel and look forward to seeing the improvements following the refurbishment.

Changes not for the better!
Pros:

This is our third visit to this hotel, we come back because we loved it so much previously. Unfortunately there have been changes since we were last here two years ago and not for the better!
The spa which was a wonderful tranquil place is no more and the outdoor jacuzzi has been filled in and turfed over.
Trying to find a sun lounger after breakfast is impossible, you need to by poolside by 6am to reserve a bed ( it didn’t used to be like this) people reserve beds but leave them empty until late afternoon. The hotel management say lounger reservation is not allowed but they don’t do anything to stop it happening. inflatables didn’t used to allowed in the pool, now they are, so in high season the pool is full of them, making it difficult to swim.
The rooms are now looking very tired and need updating. The size of them is very generous and the beds are very comfortable. No bathrobes unlike before. The mini bar and tea & coffee are supposed to be replenished every two days, they aren’t. We stayed for 14 days and ours has only been replenished 3 times.
We didn’t have any aircon for the first week, it needed a new part. We asked reception if would change rooms and were told there weren’t any available, we could check again in a couple of days. We asked for a portable fan in the meantime and were flatly told No!
The food in the restaurant is of a high standard but is very repetitive, especially if you are all inclusive.
The entertainment is evening only (nothing during the day) this is also repetitive and stops at 10pm, no music after that, by midnight the hotel is dead.
So I can’t say it isn’t peaceful of an evening, I had plenty of early nights and slept well.
The staff are lovely and did give us a very warm welcome as returning guests, but no sparkling wine on arrival this time while we checked in, we thought that was a nice touch previously.
Overall our holiday was good but the few things mentioned let it down, unless there are improvements we won’t be coming back a fourth time which is a shame.

Dissatisfied
Pros:

Sorry not 5 star. Room’s lovely and spacious and a lovely shower. But service is shocking especially in seaside bar and grill they are all a load of stressed out rude people. I accidentally sat a the wrong table my fault I misheard a waitress and went to the wrong table another waitress became sarcastic and rude and said in Spanish we are all the same. No curtsey room so had to shower in the spa which is like a sweat box also all inclusive fun’s out at 12 never known that before no entertainment except slow songs which are boring which is ok if you had somewhere to go in walking distance but hotel has lots of derelict buildings surrounded it.

Pros:

A lot of variety of food, entertainment OK, pool in need of updating, lots of broken tiles, lots of sand in the pool that was not cleaned. Rooms very old fashioned. Electrics went out on two separate occasions, hotel sorted the issue very quickly. We spoke to the tui rep who spoke to the hotel who said they would give us a bottle of cava as an apology we did not receive it though.
We would not stay at this hotel again.

Beautiful hotel and setting.
Pros:

The hotel is dated but cleanliness and service is exceptional.
We stayed on a half board deal, food quality and choice very good and catered for peanut and gluten allergies within our family, providing gluten free bread on request, and gluten free pasta on a pre-order basis.
Very informed staff, exceptional service.
The Hotel is being refurbished in Nov 2026.

Hotel Riu Palace Tres Islas
Pros:

We had a lovely stay at the Rio Palace Tres Islas in Fuerteventura. The hotel was very clean, and all of the staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay.

The location is perfect for anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s a beautiful setting and ideal for unwinding.

Our room was clean and comfortable, although it is starting to look a little dated and could benefit from some refurbishment.

The hotel was generally kept very clean, but we felt the areas around the sunbeds by the pools could have been cleaned more thoroughly.

The only disappointment was the food temperature. Although there was a good choice of food, the hot dishes were often only lukewarm despite being served from hot plates.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Bugs in all 3 beds. Spent hours trying to resolve with little results.
Pros:

We are currently are staying at RIU Palace Tres Isles hoping for a relaxing family break. The hotel itself is dated, but to be fair, several staff members were genuinely lovely and did what they could within the limits they were given.

On Thursday morning we discovered over 20 insects in our beds. We have photo and video evidence of this. We reported it immediately to reception and were offered a deep clean. We also reported this to the TUI rep Angela, who tried to help but told us there were no other rooms available.

The only alternative offered was two separate rooms of lower quality with no sea view. This isn't workable for our family: our 16-year-old son is autistic and cannot be separated from us, especially while already in visible distress. Splitting our family up in this situation would have caused him serious additional harm.

We asked to see the hotel's complaint book and were refused. When we explained the impact this was having on our son, the on site manager openly admitted he didn't understand disability and showed no willingness to find a workable solution. We were left facing another night in the same room, with no meaningful resolution offered.

After speaking to the TUI rep again we were then advised that there was a similar room without sea view. When we looked the room looked smaller and the termite damage on the floor more significant.

We came here for a family holiday and instead spent a significant part of it trying to get a serious issue taken seriously, with no consideration given to our son's needs.

**Advice for other travellers:** check your room thoroughly before unpacking, and be aware that the hotel's response to a serious issue like this fell well short of what we would expect.

Not a Palace
Pros:

Beautiful beach, great bar staff but then all downhill .
There were always flies on the meats and cheeses at the snack bar, no matter what time and no covering. Birds sitting on the self service food, when clapping away one morning at breakfast it just moved on to next dish, Got the waiter to chase away but he didn’t remove the food dishes.
Also plates frequently dirty with left over food and one evening I had a feather stuck on my plate.
Cost us a lot of extra money to go into town by taxi to eat.
Taxi into town 12 euros each way.

The lift was out of order for our entire stay and the one we had to use was padded with napkins to try to stop the shaking and screws missing on the control panel.

Entertainment limited and finished by 10pm with no activity during day.
Pool was very clean but surrounding areas left with bird droppings and fruit, rubbish etc for days,

We have stayed for many years with Riu and generally they have been of very high standard, but this one disappointed,
