Location
We had a very mixed assessment of this hotel.
Some things were good. We found the staff to be very pleasant, courteous and professional. This included the staff at reception and those who assisted with the morning breakfast.
And the breakfast, included in the price for staying here, it is pretty good. A good selection of cereals, fruit, yogurt, and hot items.
As for the not so good, they charge $30 per night parking. However, there is plenty of free parking within two blocks, in the residential streets near the hotel. There is really no need to pay for the parking. And the price is exorbitant.
Also not good, the beds. Too soft and they make for an uncomfortable night sleep.
Also, if you have a room near the pool, it can get very noisy in the evening and up to 10 PM at night.
We liked the design of the rooms. Well, laid out and quite spacious for a two bedroom room. And the rooms were clean and well maintained.
We would not necessarily stay here again. But not a terrible experience either.
The Hyatt exceeded my expectations. Customer service is non existent especially in the travel industry these days, but everyone at the Hyatt was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was also a pleasant surprise - a good mix of hot and cold items. If you're in downtown Riverside, stay at the Hyatt.
Average room. Met purpose for what I was in town for. It was noisy on the 1st floor and you could hear every door that slammed and the dog barking early in the morning.
The room was very very clean which is important to me. The breakfast was one of the best I've had at a U.S. hotel. Veronica was an especially exellent housekeeper,

The booking.com listing showed 'parking' which I took to mean free parking, but when I arrived I was charged $30/day to park in their own parking lot. Outrageous. I would not have booked this place if I had known I'd have to pay an extra $30/day to just park my vehicle.
Good quality brand, nice hotel, great staff. Hyatt always delivers. If you haven't ruined your hearing, don't expect good sleep here if your room faces Market Street. Cars race there throughout the night, though it calms down in hours after midnight...except weekends. Friday night restaurants and bars letting out...whoa...patrons screaming and yelling work me up. Perhaps ask for room facing parking lot, furthest away from Market St.
I was at a 3 day convention at the Riverside Convention Center and chose to stay at the Hyatt Place Riverside Downtown because of it's close proximity to the convention center.
The hotel far exceeded my expectations in both the consistant friendliness and helpfullness of the staff and the general atmosphere. I had to add an extra night at the last minute and my convention rate was honored with no questions asked.
The rooms were well stocked with towels and toiletries and well cleaned. The complimentary breakfast was the best I have encountered with plenty of fresh items, and a menu that changed daily.
Thank you to all the staff who made my stay so relaxing, and congratulations the the Hyatt for such a customer centered hotel experience.
