Gardens and pool area excellent, large area overlooking sea, plenty loungers although many reserved early!! Not managed at all. Some overlook adult only infinity pool overlooking the sea, some more beds on a sandy but again overlooking the sea and loads pool area - heated. Few fab Restaurants within 10 mins walk although not many. Loads of restaurants 20 mins walk away. Food at hotel is good although the buffet area is busy. 2 restaurants can book during stay a-la-carte which were good. Not much veggie option though. Very strange lack of sockets in the room. 19 euros per hour if ask to keep room on check out day? Otherwise courtesy room available - only appeared to be one for the whole hotel though which was booked ! No sockets in there and none in the optional gym changing area, tip. Local supermarket 5 mins walk for bottled water as the mini bar charges for water and it’s extortionate, this should be complimentary as at other 5 star hotels. Also loads of books available to borrow in the room where suitcases are stored on departure, maybe a selection could be available somewhere as didn’t know until we left and would have borrowed some. Definitely recommend a sea view room we had 5th floor which was amazing!
We stayed for a week over the New Year period, as a family of 7 and enjoyed every minute, despite the unusually bad weather at that time of year.
The location of the hotel is perfect. One direction takes you to La Caleta, and the other towards the Bahia del duque (lovely walks/runs along the coast).
We were so impressed with how polite and friendly the staff were at the Riu Palace. They made us feel so welcomed and their attitude really stood out from other hotels we have visited over the years. The food at both breakfast and dinner was exceptional, with plenty of choice.
The New Year Gala was a real highlight for us. The atmosphere was great, we were able to sit outside under heaters for the evening meal and the live music was fantastic entertainment.
The pools are cold at that time of year but it is to be expected.
The music/bands on every night on the terrace were top quality and we enjoyed having a few drinks, next to the lovely heaters outside. One evening we had a Queen tribute act that was very memorable!! Overall, we loved our stay and i'm sure we will be back in the future!! Thank you.
We really enjoyed our holiday here, particularly as we had a whole week of blue sky, sunshine and heat. There are good pools and bars and numerous sun beds to choose from in the sun and in the shade. The pool and beach areas are vast and exceptionally maintained. Our room on the 4th floor was spacious, clean and comfortable with all mod cons and a balcony overlooking the sea facing the sun. Rooms were replenished and tidied daily. The waiters don’t speak fluent English (us Brits are guilty of relying on this) but we received very good friendly service. Drink and wine menus are accessible via a QR code. This hotel is in an excellent location along the seafront close to shops and bars from as far as Los Cristianos along to La Caleta. The breakfast buffet and evening buffet were extraordinary with high quality food and lots of cuisines to choose from. The two other bookable restaurants were good too, although a lot of tapas in huge portions in Espanol, and in Krystal the food was very rich. The air conditioned gym was impressive. The entertainment music bands were great too and a lovely way to end each evening.
Majority of clientele over 80. The bed linen and towels are very old and threadbare. The food was ok if you prefer quantity to quality. Generally everything was very tired. The staff are lovely . Not worth visiting the Spanish or Krystal restaurants on site.
We booked a double room with sea view directly with hotel and requested the 5th floor - we were allocated the 3rd floor thus not such a good view. The room was spacious and clean, with a large comfortable bed. We prefer a separate bathroom but the bathroom 'wall' is actually a very large piece of frosted glass and provides a clear view of the person using the shower. At night if you need to use the bathroom the light illuminates the whole bedroom which is not conducive for someone trying to sleep!!!!
Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful - apart from those on reception. We had a late return flight and requested a late checkout. We were told we could only have 2 hours at 20 euros an hour which we accepted and had to confirm the night before departure. When we returned to reception to 'confirm' our 2 hour checkout we told by an aggressive female receptionist that we could only have 1 hour. The hotel was not at full capacity and we wasted an afternoon. Certainly not 5*
The breakfasts were plentiful as were the evening buffets with freshly prepared dishes on offer. The a la carte meal at the Spanish restaurant was good. However the meal at Krystal was abysmal. The Partridge pate tapas had a sugary grilled topping which was unpleasant. The crispy duck confit with goats cheese, samphire and pear were two large 'spring rolls' that were akin to cardboard, the 'crispy' duck filling was soggy as it was in a cheese sauce. No samphire could be seen, the spring rolls were placed on a pile of mixed salad leaves without any dressing. We did not eat much of this dish. The roast suckling pig was a piece of luke warm pork with a strange topping that certainly was not crackling. It was placed on a bed of cold dried apricots with a side of cold mash. The grilled beef tenderloin was anything but tender and indeed was very tough. The smoked cheesecake smelt and tasted like smoky bacon crisps - most unpleasant. Thus we left most of our meal as did several adjoining tables.
The location is good and opposite a beach. However the early morning brigade of people saving loungers was in full force - the staff never moved any towels despite some of the loungers never seeing a human till midday!!!
Thus our high hopes for a luxury break were dashed and we will not return as there were too many elements that were not 5* worthy.
Booked through the RIU website direct opting for a room with a sea view. On arrival we were disappointed to say the least. It was a room with a pool view at best. On complaining we were told that all rooms that faced the sea were classed as sea view by their definition. Misleading to say the least. You need a room on at least the 4th of 5th floor to have any chance of seeing the sea. Heaven knows what a room with a partial sea view is.
Other than that everything else was great. We feel overcharged for what we received
We last visited the Riu Palace 10 years ago and recently stayed for a week 30/11 - 7/12.
We were not disappointed with all aspects, it is just as we remembered, the staff were so attentive, our flight was delayed so we missed dinner but a meal was laid on for us. Delicious food experiences every day & extremely high standard of cleanliness. We have already booked for 2 weeks in 2027,
Our 5th time here and it doesn’t disappoint. The staff make you feel so welcome, the hotel is kept impeccably clean. Our room was very well located on the ground floor with beautiful views of the sunset.
The buffet was busy at times, but it was easy enough to be seated in the outside area, which we prefer. A great selection of food from the buffet and a different roasted joint each night.
The evening entertainment was mediocre, but that’s not what we were there for. Domino were the best while we stayed.
Sun loungers were not a problem unless you wanted to be by the infinity pool, but we preferred to be in a quieter area with more space around you.
The Sunshine bar was a great place to chill and relax before getting ready for dinner and a big shout out to Camilo, Theresa and Laura who made us so welcome every afternoon.
The Riu Palace Tenerife was an excellent choice being in a great location away from the busy area of Adeje. The hotel and its grounds were very well maintained with plenty of sun beds, the staff always friendly and helpful. Rooms very quiet and large, beds very comfy with tea/coffee making facilities plus free to use safe. Check out views from outside bar area on 6th floor especially at sunset with a drink. Good choice of good and nightly choice of live entertainment
We stayed at the RUI Palace Tenerife in October, this was our first time staying at a RUI hotel, but most certainly will not be our last.
The hotel was beautifully decorated, kept meticulously clean and felt very spacious . From the moment we arrived and throughout our stay everything was exceptional.
Our room was a junior suite, on the 9th floor (906) and it was kept spotless by our wonderful housekeepers. There was lots of space, quality towels and linen, robes and slippers, a jacuzzi in the bathroom as well as a rain shower and quality toiletries. The double size balcony had fantastic views, two reclining chairs, a table and two additional sun loungers. It was so nice to retreat to our balcony and enjoy the views and amazing sun sets.
As part of the junior suite you had dedicated Balinese beds, in the adult only area of the sun and pool terrace. These were very comfy, to provide extra privacy we would suggest some low level bushes are placed at the front of the terrace for privacy from the walkway below, but without spoiling the view. There were always sun loungers and towels available. The pool bar service was speedy and efficient.
The food was excellent with plenty of choice and lots of variety. We would suggest better labelling and segregation of vegetarian/ vegan options but the food was plentiful, even towards the end of service. Drinks were reasonably priced and again lots of choice.
Finally, the staff, they really are the heart of the hotel and great ambassadors for the RUI brand and would be one of the main reasons we would stay again at a RUI hotel. Everyone we met was genuinely happy, friendly and wanted to make sure your stay was the best it could be. We cannot list all the names ( sorry) but a special mention to Jamie and Angy in the restaurant and also our wonderful housekeepers.
We would also like to especially mention the reception staff who were on duty when we arrived on the 17th October at approximately 9.30pm. Whilst checking in a fellow guest had a nasty fall, the reception staff quickly ran to assist the lady, they called for a doctor, helped and stayed with her offering reassurance and making sure she was ok, showing great empathy and genuine concern for their guest.
Overall we would recommend this hotel, we had a great stay and can’t wait to return.
I expected a 5* hotel but got a four. Whilst there isn’t much to complain about, there are just some missing touches from the places that mean it’s not the top quality I have experienced elsewhere.
There aren’t any vanity sets in the room, you have to pay for water, the sheets are only changed when you ask them to be and some of daily bar staff are hit and miss. We had a shower that leaked on the bathroom floor everyday and the evening entertainment for 1.5 hours a night is chronic and definitely for the over 55’s.
Major plus sides are the wonderful staff, the amazing cleaners who keep the rooms spotless, the free safe in the room and the abundance of excellent food and sun loungers. The pool side bars and restaurants are good and generous portions and the cheerful staff make it a lovely experience.
There isn’t much too do other than bus/ walk into Los Christianos or La Caleta but I do like the peacefulness of the place and the fact that nobody nags you during the day to do aqua aerobics or yoga.
If you want a holiday with good food, quiet sun loungers and comfy beds, this place is for you. It’s away from the bustle of bars and parties and has a nice view of the sea.
Fabulous holiday! The resort is beautiful, and the food is very good, although we did find that the meat and fish were often served a little on the rare side or even row.
The swimming pools are fantastic, and the beach right in front of the resort is a real bonus. The staff are friendly and courteous, and the whole place is spotless. Rooms are spacious.
A few minor improvements that could really make it feel like a true 5 star:
• The access area at the front of the hotel, where cars park, should be better lit. We went for a walk one evening and all the lamps were switched off, making it quite hard to see.
• For a five-star hotel, the bathrooms could include a few more complimentary toiletries such as cotton pads, shower caps, etc.
• Drinks are a bit pricey, and we noticed several guests choosing not to order any at dinner. Slightly more reasonable prices would likely encourage more people to buy them.
• The safe was also quite expensive, and it didn’t make much sense that it became free from November onwards. It felt a bit petty to have to pay for it just for the last few days of October. A 5 star hotel should offer it as complimentary.
• lack of any sports facilities, even table tennis
• lack of a room to watch any sports on tv
• No little “extras” like fruit water by the pool
Overall, it’s a fantastic hotel, but in a few areas it didn’t fully live up to a five-star standard. Some aspects felt more like cost-saving measures than thoughtful touches, so not every detail conveyed that guest comfort was the top priority.
This was our second stay at this lovely RIU hotel. It’s location is excellent as it’s in the quieter part of Costa Adeje but within 15 minutes you can be in the busier resort centre. The hotel is kept very clean throughout and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Our room was spacious with a modern decor, comfortable beds and had a lovely view over the garden and part sea view. The choice of food was excellent in the buffet restaurant for both the evening meal and breakfast. There was evening entertainment of live music every night which was very good most nights. The negative was that this finished at 22:15 after starting at 21:00. We felt it should go on a little later. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel.
Another fabulous holiday at RIU Palace. Staff attentiveness is second to none. A big shout out for Laura, and Teresa Sunshine Bar for making our holiday so special. Everyone so welcoming and helpful / too many to name but a special mention also to Camillo and Nayi.
Choice and quality of buffet food in main restaurant exceptional. Rooms spacious and comfortable.
Thank you and looking forward to coming back next year.
Great hotel. Stayed in a garden room which suited us as terrace in shade for sitting out until early afternoon. It was very quiet. Despite all the tiled floors and comings/goings of guests at various hours we were never disturbed. The food was fantastic. We never ate in the speciality restaurants due to the fact there was so much choice at the buffet. (Also, there appeared to be a lack of veggie options but am sure they would have cooked something!) The tap water is horrible (desalinated), hence the need to pay for bottled. It is an upmarket area so the local restaurants are very expensive and glad we booked half-board. Excellent entertainment every night - quite low key and all finished by 10.30pm. We noted a few families with small children and younger couples, but mostly older folk so if you want a peaceful relaxing week this is what you will get. Pools are lovely, but do close at 6pm. The service is certainly 5* and the staff all work incredibly hard. One odd thing, we found guests engaging in their own book swap by leaving unwanted items for others to read on the small coffee table at the pool exit. When we came to leave and put our suitcases in the left luggage room we discovered a vast collection of abandoned books! A small bookcase would not go amiss. Most hotels have them, particularly if there is not much to do other than lie on your sun lounger and read!
We love the Riu palace and have been many times. Lots of people like to try somewhere new for their holidays but I think the fact that we keep coming back says everything! This is our ‘relaxing we don’t want to do anything’ holiday (compared to other holidays where you’re up and sight seeing etc the whole time).
Food is fantastic, a weird comment but the porridge is the best porridge ever! So creamy😂 I’ve tried to recreate at home and I just can’t do it!!! There’s everything you can wish for for a breakfast buffet. Evening is equally as tasty - they do a different meat each day which we look forward to. Eg roast beef, ribs, salmon etc. Another weird comment - the mash is really tasty 😂
Great atmosphere, immaculately clean grounds, poolside and rooms. The porters bring your cases to your room so you don’t have to lug them around upon arrival. They will also book you taxis for excursions and you just wait outside. You feel completely taken care of.
Evening entertainment isn’t very exciting if you want one of those all inclusive shows and discos but we actually don’t mind as we like to relax in bed or on our balcony! (As I said this is our lazy holiday!!!)
They have 2 pools - 1 where inflatables are allowed and 1 where they are not. We just set up camp near the quiet pool and do not begrudge the children in the other pool enjoying their holidays :). You can get food and drinks ordered and delivered to your lounger (ultimate lazy holiday) and they provide fresh pool towels each day.
We also got engaged here in 2024 on our balcony after 10 years of coming to this same hotel (even before its renovation!) We love it. And we will be back in the next few years x
This hotel has a lot of good points. It is an immaculate hotel. Your room is cleaned twice a day. The staff are amazing, all of them. They are very friendly, and always greet you and make you feel welcome. The rooms are lovely, although if you don't get one with a sea view you are literally looking at the hotels next door. As others have said the fact that you are charged for a safe in your room in a 5 star hotel is frankly ridiculous and really is a negative point that could easily be addressed. The gym and health suite are good and we used them most days. The pools are nice, and not too cold. Location is good if you want the quiet end of Costa adeje. In short you expect a 5 star hotel and that is what you get. The food is simply amazing every day, and caters for everyone. You would be very hard pushed to have a day where there wasn't a dish you tried and found delicious. The negatives... You are in a 5 star hotel and the price of everything matches that, even the shops and the spar nearby seems to be ridiculously over priced whereas if you walk towards fanabe things get cheaper, walk a little further still towards los cristianos and suddenly a drink costs 2 to 3 euros, about a third of the cost or more. The biggest negative depends on who you are and what you are looking for, if you want a very quiet holiday this is just the right place, if you want any life at all or even a smile from other hotel guests this probably isn't the place for you.
We have been to numerous hotels in Costa adeje this has to be one of the best .
As we arrived our cases were taken into reception by the other and taken straight to our room .the booking in process was a dream the front desk staff could not of been more helpful and gave us all the information we would need need for the holiday.
We got a pleasant surprise of an upgrade the hotel it’s self is kept very clean and tidy the gardens are well kept there are many places to sit if you just want to chill plenty of sun beds around the three pools lots of shade if you need it .we sat on the hotels man made beach
Overlooking the prom and the sea .
During the day you have a choice of three pool bars two of these you can order food as a snack
The breakfast is substantial a lot of choice from fresh fruit cold meats and fried breakfast could have done with some English sausage
I would dare anyone to say the evening meals were poor in fact they we’re definitely five stars
We booked the Spanish Al cart this was excellent not just the food but the service
In fact it does not matter were you are in the hotel the staff are so friendly you feel as if you belong there
I only have two negatives
They definitely need to upgrade the pillows and on a lighter note the sunshades on the beach area are deadly
I have got so many scratches on my head from the wicker
Would I come back the answer is we have already booked twice for 2026 so yes that is a definite
We so enjoyed our stay at Riu Palace Tenerife. Nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful
Staff. Each member is exceptional and we noted
Fernanda and richel for their dedication and professionalism
In the dining hall monica on reception for getting our holiday off to a great start, and maritza our amazing cleaner.
The adults only infinity pool and Riu white party were absolute highlights, as was the food; we loved the tuna and salmon steak!
Lastly, the quality of the evening entertainment was not lost on us. The Cuban band and singer was exceptional
and we felt the same about the eighties band Final
countdown. Each talented musicians all singing harmonies and taking a lead in their own right. Great choice of songs. We did feel
That a slight criticism is they must have been told to dumb down set list as sweet Caroline appeared every night but that’s not the hotels fault. We loved the Spanish guitarist too.
The only thing missing for me was an aqua class!
Very helpful and informative staff, we checked in online through the rui app but had to do it all again on arrival so was pointless really. Reception staff mentioned a welcome drink, but it never came so we just went to our room. We did arrive after evening meal had finished but a buffet in the restaurant was there for us to enjoy. beautiful and varied food, there was something for anybodys taste and much of it cooked fresh as you wait. large room tea and coffee in room, including kettle and ironing board, dressing gowns but no slippers. AND always very quiet in the room.3 pools one infinity and all very quiet plus a small one in the spa inside. And a small childs pool. Food at pool bar was very good. Entertainment every night albeit subtle but just as we like it.perfect location in the costa adeje resort. A 5 star hotel should not though be charging extra to use the safe in the room.sorry! A couple of bars and restaurants and small supermarket just 100m away, more within a 15 minute walk towards los Americas. And upmarket shops bars and restaurants at plaza del duque just up from the promenade. We got a taxi from the hotel to los Americas 10 euros and walked right back up the promenade to the resort about 40 mins.(glad we stayed in adeji!!!, LOL). If we returned to tenerife we would definitely choose costa adeje and the same hotel.
Tip: paving around the pool gets very hot and sand on beach direct from hotel is black and again is hot so take flip flops and water shoes.
AND there was never a wait for a sunbed 🌞 the hotel have got that right ✅️ always available at any time of day , so no rushing up ,even with the usual suspects reserving their pitch from early doors🚪 which is annoying. Another tip to note, download the RUI app, and claim your rui points, towards future upgrades, requests or towards your final account.
