We had a nice stay overall. The weather was great for the first four days, which made the holiday very enjoyable. The outdoor areas and swimming pool were lovely, and there were some activities for children, which was nice for families. The food was okay, and in general we had a relaxing and enjoyable week.

PROS: The staff were very kind and helpful, I'm rather a demanding customer, with several particular requests, and I was very surprised to see all were met. The all inclusive was very good with 3 buffet restaurants, normal, Asian and Mediterranean. The food quality I have to say was amazing, the variety and the selection for gluten free, lactose free, and so on, were also very very good... The kids club was good, the pools were very good, we particularly enjoyed the kids 0.30m pool which was comparatively calm. The night entertainment was good, not the best of an all inclusive hotel if you compare it to other 4 starts all inclusive hotels in Turkey, for example. But still good. I would definitely recommend yhe hotel and come back again!

Hotel 3HB Guarana was a very pleasant stay. There was plenty of entertainment, the pools were fun and we enjoyed the close beaches!

We stayed at this hotel 21st - 28th March 2026. The location is set just out of the fishing village but in a very quiet area so no noise at night apart from occasional traffic as our room overlooked the road on the second floor.
The room itself was a lovely size with super comfy beds nice balcony and a big tv which actually had the most english speaking channels we have ever had abroad which also included kids tv channels. The bathroom was a great size with a full size bath and shower and great supply of quality soap, shampoo and conditioner.
Also in the room is a free safe to use and like the hotel the rooms are kept spotlessly clean and cleaned every day with fresh towels and the superb cleaners left us some towel art a few times which was fantastic. Also free wifi is great and was very fast throughout the hotel and grounds.
The pools are lovely but very cold. One of the best things for us were no reserving sunbeds what a breath of fresh air but there really is no need as I have never seen as many sunbeds in a hotel in all my many travels so there is always plenty available all day.
The main restaurant was great with plenty of choice breakfast being very good with fantastic button mushrooms and fabulous hash browns to mention but a couple of highlights. Food could do with keeping warmer really as it is never piping hot just a niggle we had really. Always something for everyone to eat though with a good choice on offer. In the main restaurant help yourself to beers, wine and fizzy drinks but beware the offered two sorts of Sangria were very potent . Plenty of seating inside and avery large area outside to eat alfresco.
We would have liked to eat at the two speciality restaurants but because the hotel only opened for the season the day before we arrived ther was an issue with under occupancy which we fully respected so some things were off the agenda [ hope to try next time].
The snack bar was available at certain hours and was a good place for afternoon snacks ie pizza, sandwiches,chips and lovely toasties as well as a few cakes and biscuits.
The entertainment was the usual hotel acts but they were fun and the entertainment team were great.. The entertainment with the live band and lady singer was great fun and got the crowd going and joining in .
The sports bar was good for a change on night with lots of big screens showing multiple sports.
One of the highlights for me was in addition to super bock and Sagres beers there was Somersby cider on tap ~holiday made !! The drinks were very good and the bar staff were plentiful and efficient so no queues here .
We ventured out a few times while we were here and the old town in Albufeira was our favorite plus the fantastic walk on the beach to Quarteira with mid stop at a beach bar. The beach is accessible behind the hotel via some wooden steps.
If you do venture out use the Uber app for taxis it will save you a small fortune .
Also a Monzo card is a good option for the best exchange rate while you are there.

To conclude the 3hb Guarana is an absolute gem of an hotel it is spotlessley clean all of the time. All of the staff are absolutely brilliant and we would like to thank each and everyone of them with this review for the perfect vacation and we will be back in the near future for some of the same . A special shoutout to the bubbly restaurant greeter at the time of our stay Ana Melo who was an absolute joy everyday we were there who made our ventures to the restaurant a truley enjoyable experience, Thankyou Ana . I hope this review is a help to future holiday makers and we can reassure you that you will not regret for a second the decision to holiday here and again thanks a million to the management and all staff for making our holiday such a memerable one love to you all John and Nicky - Leeds - England.

2nd year returning!!

🌟 We returned to 3HB Guaraná this year because our children insisted — they wanted to see Barbara, Pierre and the team again after such a great experience last year. The staff are genuinely the biggest strength of this hotel and made us feel very welcome again. Shout out to Mus and Kenny this year who made us laugh so much!!

🏨 The hotel is still very clean, and overall standards are good. The manager was also helpful in moving our room, as the original view was poor. That level of service was appreciated.

⚠️ However, compared to last year, there has been a noticeable drop in key areas.

🏋️ The gym feels dated and in need of an upgrade. The food was also disappointing at times, often being served cold which shouldn’t be happening at this level.

🎯 The children’s entertainment lacks creativity and investment. While the staff themselves are excellent, they are working with poor materials and limited options. Broken equipment and repetitive activities just don’t keep kids, especially older ones, engaged.

🎭 The evening entertainment was the biggest let down. It felt like a complete downgrade from last year. External acts were poor, the magician repeated the exact same show, and overall there was very little energy or atmosphere. It genuinely impacted the evenings, and I hope management take this feedback on board as it is currently ruining what should be a key part of the holiday experience.

🎶 The only act worth keeping was the 3-piece band — they were brilliant both years and created a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the rest of the entertainment needs to be removed and completely rethought.

👏 It’s frustrating because the in-house entertainment team are great and clearly capable — they just need proper support and investment instead of relying on outside acts.

🍻 The sports bar was a highlight in the evenings — a good place to watch football, play chess or just relax when the main entertainment wasn’t worth attending.

⭐ Overall, still a good hotel with excellent staff, but a clear step back from last year. With improvements to food, facilities and especially entertainment, it could easily return to a higher standard.

We arrived on opening day. Met by lovely helpful receptionist who checked us in efficiently. Room on 5th floor. Very nice but only issue was the constant humming which was quite loud even though we had Aircon set to off. We got used to it but disturbed my sleep more than the husbands! Hotel was very clean and tidy. Pool areas were great, we were lucky with the weather so were able to sunbathe but the pool was freezing although my husband braved it. The indoor pool was nice but not much warmer! Bonus that the hotel offers free pool towels. The restaurants were all lovely, good choice of foods although could be warmer. You find that at most buffets though. We enjoyed the Mediterranean and oriental restaurants, need to be booked at reception. The Mediterranean was too chaotic but I believe the hotel were changing it to two sittings later in the week as it had long queues for the mains. We downloaded the Bolt app and got discounted rides to Vilamoura and Albuferia old town which was a great way to explore other resorts. The evening entertainment was hit and miss. We enjoyed the live bands and the Kahoot quizzes but some other acts were quite poor. The choice of drinks were good. I enjoyed beefeater pink gin and sprite but the cocktails were very disappointing. All premade and very poor. The Staff were all very friendly and helpful, couldn't fault the service. Simply brilliant hotel! Efficient check in process. Accommodation and facilities excellent, staff, excellent, food and drinks amazing can't fault anything to be honest and will definitely be back here again. The indoor pool is great (although the jacuzzi being cold was a shock 🤣).Gym was good..highly recommend the white sangria if you haven't had it before! Obrigado 3HB Guarana and see you again..
