Confort des lits à revoir ( matelas basique, lit trop bas et pas de lit double). Piscine d'un autre âge, à rénover et mal entretenue. Quant au petit dejeuner, il faut venir tôt sinon il n'y a plus grand chose à manger. Restaurant le soir correct et agreable sur la terrasse. Je be comprends pas pourquoi 4 etoiles pour cet établissement.

Everything was perfect, we had a great stay.
The environment is unique and the staff is very friendly.

The grounds are beautiful, and the view of the ocean stunning. I loved having a patio with chairs and table to enjoy the outdoors, and the many verandas, outbuildings, etc offer plenty of places to hang out. The breakfast was good too. I'm not sure if we were there in the off season, but some if the buildings felt...tired. The whale watch tower was locked. I would stay here again though, it was nice.

Fantastic location with rooms dotted around the garden. Our room was spacious, comfortable and simply furnished with an outside porch with seating area and access to the beach. There was also a kettle in the room! Would highly recommend the restaurant which is reasonably priced, popular with locals and serves with excellent food. We were there in March and had fortunately booked a table, because the restaurant was pretty full.

Our stay was very enjoyable. The property is very unique and picturesque. The small cottages with a couple rooms each are very quiet.
The grounds are very old and beautiful. They are cobble stone and so not ideal if you have mobility issues.
Food and drinks at the restaurant were excellent and breakfast had a good variety.

Très belle chambre mais sans air climatisé un peu chaud ! Très bons repas servis au restaurant. Site de l’hôtel est exceptionnel, luxuriant et en bord de mer.

We had a lovely stay. Great and quite location, and as there aren't many rooms, it feels very private and like you're in the middle of the forest. Yes, the rooms are a little outdated but everything was clean. Friendly staff, decent breakfast, and parking available right on the property. Would stay here again.

The no airconditioning would not be a problem if the windows openned fully. We barely had a breeze in our room and it finally cooled down by around midnight most nights. The property is really great with it's own ocean swimming spot down the way, but the pool was extremely poorly maintained.

Déçue de cet hôtel.
Je m’attendais à un hôtel plus accueillant. Hormis le réceptionniste, l’hôtel est dans “son jus”: tout semble vieux: mobilier, installation et je n’avais vu une boutique d’hôtel comme celle-ci qui s’approche plus d’un vide-grenier que d’une boutique.
Notre chambre était très sombre, la lumière du couloir ne marchait pas et l’alese du lit faisait un bruit de plastique dérangeant.
L’endroit est pourtant très beau, il y a de belles vues sur la mer c’est vraiment dommage de laisser cet hôtel décrépir. Heureusement que nous n’avons passé qu’une nuit.

Schon der Check-in versprach nichts Gutes. Eine unmotivierte Mitarbeiterin zeigte uns schlechtgelaunt den Weg zu unserem Häuschen.

In anderen Bewertungen las ich „in die Jahre gekommen“. Das impliziert für mich einen gewissen Charme. Den hat es aber echt nicht mehr. Die Häuser sind prima, nur wurde schon sehr lange nicht mehr in sie investiert. Das Lost-Places-Gefühl versucht man mit Raumduft zu übertünchen, aber die Möbel speichern Muff. Der Schrank war wegen des Miefs unbenutzbar. Die Matratzen waren dünn, alt und mit einem Plastik-Matratzenschoner bezogen. Die Bettwäsche war synthetisch, sodass man in seinem eigenen Schweiß garte. Die Fenster konnte man nicht weiter als einen Spalt öffnen, sodass man auch nachts kaum lüften konnte. Der Kühlschrank brummte so laut, dass wir ihn gleich ausstellten.

Beim Anschalten des Badezimmerlichts ging eine Lüftung mit an in der Lautstärke einer kleinen Propellermaschine.

Das Gelände könnte sehr schön sein, ist aber vor allem ungepflegt. Die unebenen Gartenpfade machten aus unserem Wanderurlaub einen Nichtwanderurlaub.

Es gibt einen Zugang zum Meer, den allerdings nur gute Schwimmer nutzen sollten. Er liegt an einer kleinen Felsbucht mit hübsche bunten Fischen.

Das Restaurant wird ähnlich dilettantisch betrieben wie das Hotel. Die Karte ist okay, aber mehr auch nicht. Das Frühstück ist mäßig, mit gerade so trinkbarem Kaffee.

Alles in allem ein Erlebnis, von dem man nur abraten kann. Schade, denn die Lage ist wunderbar.

Beautiful place

De ontvangst bij de receptie was slecht. We kregen ook een van de minste kamers, zonder terras. Zwembad moeilijk te vinden en lastig bereikbaar. Tuinen zijn prachtig, maar als je slecht ter been bent erg lastig. Het diner was goed.

Precioso entorno, mucha tranquilidad , vistas increíbles y el personal muy amable, el desayuno muy bueno.

Amazing hotel! Great food and nature trails. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The setting is beautiful! Aldeia de Fonte Hotel is in a very lush and green part of the island, as well as near the ocean. You can hear the waves crashing on the rocks from your room. The outdoor dining area is so pretty. You feel like you are in a rainforest.

Great restaurant, great views and swimming from the cliff

Cet hôtel possède une piscine naturelle privée juste incroyable ! Le restaurant est très agréable, sous la tonnelle avec les oiseaux. Le petit-déjeuner est vraiment très bon. La chambre et la piscine extérieure ont besoin d’un petit rafraîchissement, mais nous recommandons cet hôtel.

The grounds at this hotel are amazing! They are beautifully landscaped and the rooms are in small buildings around the property. You can walk to cliffs and there is a small balcony overlooking the ocean.

The food at the restaurant is excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were there during off-season and there was not always someone at the property but you could call.

My reason for a lower rating is the mattresses. They are probably futon mattresses and they are very thin and hard. After two nights my joints hurt.
