Nothing, it’s a great venue
It was very clean, in the perfect location for my trip and clearly signs of improvements e.g. new carpets
Everything is hugely dated. The bed wasn’t very comfy and was just a standalone bed . A buzzing noise was right above my head in the wall all night, making me wake up several times (I think it was the extractor in the adjacent room). The room key was like something out of a comedy sketch and I can remember the last place I stayed without a key card. The bathroom products looked like they were bargain basement and from the 99p shop. I’ve stayed in lots of hotels with booking.com, from budget to a real treat and everything in between. This would be joint worst with any other budget hotel I’ve stayed in - except the price wasn’t really a budget price and I’ve stayed in much better mid-range hotels for the price I paid, including in more established locations.
Friendly staff
No parking, tv in my room did not work, very noisy, drafty and out dated
It was lovely and warm, the room had everything I needed and the staff were friendly
Stopped serving food at 6pm when most workers are looking for food, bed was shaped like a bath tub and felt like a bag of tennis balls, water became "too hot" after holding my hand under the shower for 7 mins.
Cellings were suspended, no sound insulation against neighbours with zero sense of consideration towards others by being quiet. Room was cold, towels were dirty and the bathroom door wouldnt even shut!
Honestly nothing very disappointed, I usually don't do bad reviews but never had something like this experience with hotel , to be very dirty from kettle, and towels so disgusting and I spoke with receptionist he didn't bother to much to change or do something

The gentlemen on night watch were really friendly and the room was very clean.
The hot water in the shower dribbled at best and was scorching hot but when you tried to cool it down it became ice cold. Mentioned it to the woman at the desk and she said i am just going to have to just deal with it.
Good location as I was exploring the area by bike and needed a place to stay for the night.
Very noisy surroundings and walls are thin so you could hear neighbours. Not cleaned well.
The next morning there was nobody at the front desk for checkouts. No sign on where to leave the room keys either. Never experienced that before
Location of the light switch next to the headboard in room 103. The light came on when I moved in bed!
The room was large, very clean, large comfy bed and lovely bathroom with piping hot water. Staff friendly and helpful. Also it was useful to be able to stop briefly in lay-by at front of hotel to ask where to park.
Unfortunately I was on the side of the hotel where there was a pub/club nearby with noisy party goers, and in the morning a fair bit of noise-doors banging etc.
Within walking distance of the train station.
I never arrived until after 10pm and the night porter was very polite and pleasant.
TV in bedroom didn’t work.
The welcome was, as we have come to expect when we play in Wales, friendly, helpful and hospitable. The room 304 was quiet with a nice view of the hills, it was more than adequate apart from the TV which I just could not get to work, but that is down to my lack of tuning expertise. If Merthyr Tydfil run an event next years as is expected, I will certainly use the Hotel again. Diolch yn fawr iawn
Nothing to add I was satisfied. For the price it gave all I expected and provided all I needed with great hospitality. The breakfast was sufficient and well cooked and presented by friendly staff.
Very good all prepared fresh
Great location for travelling in and out of Cardiff very friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money and always someone at reception day or night to help you in anyway.
If I had one fault it would be that the breakfast finished at 9am I think 10am would be a better finish time.
