It was a beautiful place and very calm, which is a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the city. The views are absolutely phenomenal and the people very friendly and attentive.

Very chic and stylish hotel in an amazing location. The rooftop bar is the pièce de résistance with stunning views.
If I’m being picky, the walk from lower street level is a shift but it does negate the need for a gym - some kinda liked it.
Pool was lovely, staff were incredibly friendly and helpful!
The stairs to the pool are very many so in the heat it’s very tiring to go up there. We had to change rooms at the beginning because the water smelled of sewage and the room was very outdated and old.

Breakfast was good, with eggs and tapioca pancakes to order. Staff was friendly and great, and they spoke English! Pool had a nice view. Free bottle of water in the room.
LOCATION!! This was totally unclear from the site, but it is located near the entrance of a favela. Like many people, I had an Uber driver refuse to drive up. During daytime, the walk is fine, but during night, I felt unsafe walking up. I'm sure overall it is fine and tourists generally don't get hurt, but my tolerance for risk is quite low when traveling, and I felt incredibly unsafe in the area, and this prevented me from leaving the hotel past dark. It was also incredibly hard to find when checking in on the first da, because there are no signs that there is a hotel, and you have to press a button to be allowed to enter.
Inside the hotel, it felt safe, and it was decorated nicely. However, there are a lot of stairs (wasn't a problem for me, but could be for other guests). The sound-proofing was horrible, and I could hear every noise coming from the hallway. The room was not fully clean, as I found a used floss pick on the floor.

Das Gebäude hat einen sehr schönen Flair und das Personal ist sehr nett. Das Zimmer war sauber. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse ist einmalig. Frühstück war auch sehr gut.
Im Bad hat es Schimmel bei den Silikondichtungen. Auch die Wände im Zimmer haben Anzeichen für Schimmel. Die Lage ist nicht ganz ideal, da das Hotel an der Zufahrtsstrasse einer Favela liegt.
The staff were very attentive and spoke English which helped us so much. The room number 2 had a great view with a sunny balcony and the bed was very comfortable. The pool and pool bar on the upper level, although there were a lot of steep steps to get to it, was worth the effort as the view across Rio was amazing. The breakfast was very good, omelette, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, breads, cakes were all good.
Some Taxi drivers were not keen to take you up the very steep long hill to the hotel which can be a huge problem so make sure you have it agreed with the taxi drive before taking your ride as we had to pull our luggage up the hill. Also if you have any difficulty in walking up steep stairs then perhaps this is not the hotel for you. However, if you can climb stairs the hotel, staff and facilities are worth the effort, we had 4 nights and loved it.

The staff could not be nicer and were very helpful with recommendations in the area. We felt safe in the area and it was close to the beach along with lots of bars and restaurants. The pool was also lovely and quiet during the day with an amazing view out to the sea and sugarloaf.

A beautifully styled and tastefully designed property, with stunning communal areas. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooftop swimming pool area was wonderful.
The blinds didn’t adequately block the morning light, and the bathroom would benefit from some refurbishment.

J’aurais aimé des rideaux occultants : la lumière est très forte dès l’aube…
Belle grande chambre avec vue sur le Pain de sucre. Même si elle mériterait un rafraîchissement elle a beaucoup de charme. Personnel très sympathique.
Petit déjeuner correct sur une belle terrasse arborisée. Magnifique et grand rooftop avec piscine.
Le quartier non loin des favelas peut un peu inquiéter au début, mais le personnel nous a rassuré et il est effectivement possible de descendre au centre d’Ipanema à pied sans problème.
Super emplacement, propre, cadre très sympa sur la terrasse. Service au top, toujours aidant et souriant (parlant très bien anglais)
