A convenient and peaceful stop whilst exploring Southern Dartmoor, with lovely views of the moor and of Plymouth Sound i
Pros:

A good location for cycling around Dartmoor. Externally a bit disappointing but once inside, lovely helpful staff and excellent food. They went the extra mile as I had lost an item of jewellery of great sentimental value, which they found for me, thank you so much!

Cons:

The building needs a bit of modernisation.

Like steeping back to the 1970's
Pros:

The room (13) was large with scenic views. Ample car parking space.

Cons:

The hotel is in need of modernisation, decorating and some TLC throughout. The door to my room was difficult to open/close due to it binding on the frame.
The toilet roll holder was missing and the toilet was not very clean either.
There is no lift or entrance ramp so best avoid if you have mobility issues.
Was told the room had a sea view, but I didn't take my binoculars so I can't confirm or deny this.

great location amazing views
Pros:

we where given not one but two free up grades the room wasn’t good it was superb
staff go out of there way to make you feel happy , the chef was spot on we eat one evening and had breakfast the next day . both where great , yes the hotel itself could do with a bit of tlc in some areas . but all the staff more than make up for it

Pros:

Great location for getting onto the moors. Friendly staff with easy check in check out. Comfortable room to relax after a days hiking. Breakfast was very nice.

I never used the room and still have not got refund

Cons:

Absolutely awful customer service. Brother was very unwell, hotel was very difficult to get to. Rang the hotel and informed them. They said no problem and they will cancel the booking with no charges but still haven’t done this! After one month still chasing the refund, please kindly process this

Pros:

The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location was rather remote and peaceful, surrounded by the wildlife and the forest and we liked spotting the sheep out and about.

Cons:

There was a small spot of blood on the toilet seat upon arrival that I had to clean up myself , which was a little jarring, and maybe would have liked a bigger breakfast portion as me and my daughter found the portion rather small for the price but other than that it was a nice hotel.

It did the job for an overnight stay.
Pros:

The property was in an amazing position with fantastic views. The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to help. The food was also very good.

Cons:

When we arrived we thought the property was closed. There appeared to be no life around at all apart from a couple of cars and a few sheep (to be expected on Dartmoor!) in the car park. The property is in need of major refurbishment and it could be an amazing hotel in time.

A nice hotel at the edge of Dartmoor
Pros:

The fact we had a small balcony and the view from there was excellent. The bathroom was clean, service was good, and we slept well. A fan had been provided, but wasn't required and there was plenty of coffee and tea in the room.

Cons:

Breakfast could be a bit more generous - other places offer a sideboard with cereals and bread ready to toast yourself. Here it was limited to a few options of cooked food (this was good quality) and coffee, but no cereal, yoghurt or fruit on offer unless ordered separately for an extra charge. A little disappointed by this, as otherwise our stay was very enjoyable.
