A nice hotel at the edge of Dartmoor
Pros:

The fact we had a small balcony and the view from there was excellent. The bathroom was clean, service was good, and we slept well. A fan had been provided, but wasn't required and there was plenty of coffee and tea in the room.

Cons:

Breakfast could be a bit more generous - other places offer a sideboard with cereals and bread ready to toast yourself. Here it was limited to a few options of cooked food (this was good quality) and coffee, but no cereal, yoghurt or fruit on offer unless ordered separately for an extra charge. A little disappointed by this, as otherwise our stay was very enjoyable.

Pros:

It's in a good place & not too expensive. It's an older moor hotel, a bit basic & tired & even a bit grubby in the showers, but they did a good job with staff & also very good food. Overall it was fine ✅

It did the job. On the other hand, value for money was good!
Pros:

The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent.

Cons:

The hotel is in need of redecoration - there were areas where the wallpaper was coming away from the walls. Also, it is very stuck in the 1950’s!

We had a lovely weeks stay attention to detail was great, highly recommend it. Easy distance to Plymouth.
Pros:

Lovely staff, very welcoming. Good position to visit Dartmoor and Dartmoor zoo. Rooms a good size and decorated nice, very clean.
Breakfast and evening meals amazing very good chef.

Cons:

Power in the showers were lacking, but adequate. Give plenty of time for meals but they were worth waiting for.
