Schweizerhof Zermatt

We stayed for 5 days. Initially we looked for another place and got finally to this one which was the best we could do. The location is one step away from the three starting points.

Our family of four recently completed our third stay at this wonderful hotel, and once again, it exceeded all of our expectations. Returning here year after year has truly become a tradition for us, and each visit somehow feels even more special than the last.

What sets this hotel apart is the incredible staff, who consistently go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. This year, in particular, we experienced unexpected travel disruptions due to a delayed flight, and the team handled the situation with genuine care and professionalism.

We would especially like to recognize Zoe at the front desk. She went out of her way to assist us with adjusting our travel plans, ensuring everything was clearly communicated and organized. Her kindness and willingness to translate everything into Italian for us made a potentially stressful situation feel seamless and manageable. Her dedication truly made a lasting impression on our family.

The hotel continues to provide a warm, welcoming environment that makes traveling with children easy and enjoyable. It’s rare to find a place that combines comfort, consistency, and such personalized service.

We are already looking forward to returning again next year!

Amazing rooms - and a wonderful location! Great place to relax at the end of a long day! Especially with the spa & indoor pool.

Location was fabulous, ambience was great and staff were amazing, super friendly and very helpful. The restaurant had a great DJ, lovely food and the design was superb. The only small negative was the location of the couch in the Attic suite. The TV was on a wall behind the couch so it was impossible to sit on the couch to watch TV. It also wasn’t overly comfortable with no cushions etc. But just a minor negative with all the positives well and truely out weighing this. We would definitely stay again.

The service, the ambience, the food, the rooms; one of our favorite places in all of our two week visit to Switzerland. The staff is amazing, special note to Dominik who persevered in retrieving my lost wallet which was waiting for me when I returned home to California. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay in Zermatt.

We had an exceptional stay at Hotel Schweizerhof Zermatt. The room views were absolutely stunning, overlooking the snowy mountains and a beautiful ice-skating rink, truly magical, especially in winter.

The restaurants were outstanding, and the general areas, décor, and furnishings throughout the hotel were elegant, warm, and impeccably maintained. Every space felt thoughtfully designed and welcoming.

The service was exceptional from start to finish, but a very special touch was the surprise personal birthday card and balloons left in my son’s room to celebrate his 16th birthday. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made our stay even more memorable.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zermatt.

Hotel is luxuriously kitted out and in good location, but the traditional Swiss hospitality is lacking. Staff are clueless and borderline rude. The only comfortable place to sit and relax in the lobby is the cigar smoking room. Will not recommend unless you like being surrounded by yellow fume or having to squeeze between table or dining guests to your poorly lit room.

Loved the hotel. It’s an incredibly convenient location and the rooms, breakfast and spa are all top class. I would highly recommend this hotel

I am writing to provide feedback on my recent dining experience at restaurant, which has left me very disappointed. I ordered a medium rare steak, but what I received was a piece of old, tough, and overcooked beef. When I cut it open, it clearly did not resemble a medium rare steak.

I first asked one of the waiters and she assured me it was cooked medium. Later, a second waiter took my steak to the kitchen and the chef insisted that a red center means medium rare. However, the quality and appearance of the steak I was served did not reflect this at all.
In contrast, the lobster pasta I also ordered was excellent—flavorful, aromatic, and juicy. This made the disappointment with the steak and service even more glaring.

What an outstanding hotel and we were fortunate to also have snow on arrival and a perfect day the next. From our early check in to seeing our beautiful room with a view of the Matterhorn and an excellent breakfast, everything about this hotel was first class. Our only regret was that we didn’t have another day to avail ourselves of all the amenities.

Conveniently located and so easily accessible to all points of attraction. Very friendly service at all levels round the clock. Excellent breakfast varieties and quality! The best I have experienced over my last 3 months of travel in APAC with 2 top notch hotels. Had dinner once and the king Prawn, wild game dish PLUS classic dessert turned out surprisingly well appealing and really sumptuous! Back to overall experience, it's honestly worth staying there. Even a very junior expatriate who just been there for about 6 months and the hotel is his 1st time job, is apt to be proud of in this industry. Extremely patient and attentive to ask just to ensure the guest comfort n satisfaction are being fulfilled. Two thumbs up for Schweizerhof Zermatt! Made my days and visits to Zermatt merrily unforgettable 👏👏👍👍🫡🫡💪💪

The staff was attentive and helpful from check in untill our departure. Front desk, Breakfast, transportation... everyone! So nice. Excellent language skills... Nothi g lost in translation... The location is perfect in the heart of Zermatt. Close to yrains, buses, resturants, shops etc... perfect location.

The property is clean, well decorated and just simply beautiful. WiFi flawless and fast, rooms are well appointed.

The views of the Matterhorn from our room were spectular.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Schweizerhof Zermatt, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. If you're planning a trip to this stunning Swiss village, look no further—I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for two nights and it was magical. First, the hotel is quite literally feet from the train station which made lugging our bags a breeze. Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff were so kind. Our rooms were wonderful. We had a double and a cozy. My daughter loved her cozy and had a Matterhorn view. My double did not, but we really didn’t mind. The rooms are spacious, and I just have to say the fact that there’s a DYSON hairdryer in each room was so appreciated.

My only small complaint at all was breakfast but just more that they seemed short staffed but they were so kind.

We didn’t eat dinner or lunch there but because we were out exploring.

This hotel is a 5 star to me and I am incredibly picky and only stay in high end. I loved it and if we ever have the opportunity to return, we would stay at this property.

Exceptional accommodation, service and location. Wonderful ambience throughout the hotel, with quirky touches in every nook and cranny. Ate at the restaurant the 2 nights we stayed there. Rocco was our waiter, very attentive and friendly, with great suggestions. Happy to see some aussie Angus beef on the menu. Breakfast was phenomenal, and catered extremely well for lastose/gluten intolerances. Highly recommended.

Wow, what a great hotel. Having stayed at several hotels in Switzerland, this one was a class above. Friendly, helpful service; classy, cozy rooms; spectacular restaurant dining and breakfast menu - with many gluten free selections for those in need like me. Special call-out to our wonderful waiter Rocko the both nights that we ate there. FULLY RECOMMEND.

Beautiful property, with spacious and well appointed rooms. Some rooms have Matterhorn view.

Located right on the Main Street, five minutes walk from the train station, and 15 minutes walk to the cable car station.

Great restaurant with Peruvian Asian fusion dishes that were very delicious. Impeccable service at dinner time, but needs more employees during breakfast because it tends to get very crowded. Maybe a self service coffee machine would be a nice addition during breakfast buffet.
