Pros:

The front desk team was so polite and friendly. I really enjoyed my breakfast meal included with my room the notorious meal was delicious 😋 and a friendly staff member there was really nice and polite while serving my coffee.

It was a great stay for the value, I loved seeing all the dogs!
Pros:

The dogs!!!! It was also very clean and modern, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

No hot tub. That would have been the cherry for me.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at the Asheville downtown location. We will be back :)
Pros:

The breakfast biscuit was delicious. The staff was also incredibly accommodating. Loved the view of the mountains and the pool.

I enjoyed my stay & 2nd flr. One time my room was not cleaned & coffee staff I found curt.
Pros:

I enjoyed the location and the facility was comfortable for my needs.

Cons:

I wished the coffed bar could have stayed open until noon or one. I also found the staff not as friendly as the hotel staff.

Embarrassment to the Marriott Brand
Pros:

We travel to Asheville multiple times a year and this was our first stay at the Aloft. We chose this hotel because the location was within walking distance of the concert venue we were going to on NYE. If you stay here, we hope you have a better experience.

The Pro's:
- Location, Location, Location
The Con's:
- Water pressure from the shower was akin to trying to shower in a light rain. The showerhead had no adjustments and was mounted oddly high on the wall making the lack of pressure all the worse (my wife and I are both close to 6' tall). We had to fill the ice bucket from the room with water from the bathroom sink multiple times just to rinse off the shampoo and soap.
- As for the bathroom sink, we noticed the water coming from it had a foul odor yet the water from the shower smelled fine. I unscrewed the filter from the end of the sink faucet and found the inside covered in an unknown black material. Once I cleaned that thoroughly the odor disappeared. Pictures attached if you're interested.
- Every towel provided to us was torn, worn thin, tattered, frayed or a combination of all the above.
- We did not ask for housekeeping but instead only requested 2 complete sets of clean towels during our stay...we received 2 bath towels, 3 hand towels, and 0 washcloths.
- The window shade on one of our windows was torn and off its track (until I was able to fix it) such that the morning sun would shine brightly into the room.
- As noted, we did not request housekeeping during our stay and kept the "do not disturb" hanger on our door the whole time. One evening we returned to the room to find new bottles of shower gel and shampoo in our room. We called down to the front desk to let them know this and that we were not at all happy that staff entered our room both unrequested and with the do not disturb hanger on the door. They apologized but it was clearly much more of concern to us as guests than to the person working the front desk.

We count on Trip Advisor for reviews wherever we travel and hope sharing our experience at this Aloft helps others when deciding where to stay in Asheville. There are many choices for lodging there and we'll definitely be making a different choice for our future visits. Safe, fun travels to all!

Lovely holiday stay in a warm, dog-friendly property
Pros:

Great location, very dog friendly, clean and comfortable rooms, lovely staff.

Cons:

All good - I do think that parking should not be an additional fee for hotel guests, but otherwise no issues.

Will NEVER RETURN. SUBSTANDARD PROPERTY
Pros:

Hard pressed to find anything to like.
Nice morning view of the mountains I guess.

Cons:

HUGE room thermostat problem that remained unresolved after three in room visits by two different maintenance workers .
Room so cold I was unable to sleep. No response or resolution offered even though hotel was less than 60% occupied.
WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PROPERTY.
