The New Hobbit Hotel Rooms

Exceptionally clean but not smelling of cleaning products (which is a good thing!). Balcony with beautiful views across the valley.

The room was really nicely decorated and spacious enough for my stay. Bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was spotless.
Only downside was that there are no facilities nearby as the pub is no longer functioning, however being brought up in Halifax I know my way around so this wasn't a problem.
Complimentary breakfast items was a nice touch even though it is advertised as room only.

Another excellent stay at the Hobbit host is very friendly and nothing too much trouble if you have any questions. Rooms are spotlessly clean and lovely decor. Car park right outside the door with ample parking.
This time we had a ground floor room but still a lovely view of the valley. The porridge pots and croissants are a lovely touch. Also we were celebrating our anniversary and was given early check in and late check-out which was a great gesture.
Will definitely be back

Easy parking but difficult small roads to get there. Nice place once you get there

Lovely room, modern, new decor, clean, good extras like ironing board and iron
However the room was way too hot. The radiator wasn’t even on so I don’t know if the heat was coming from the bathroom towel rail or internal building heating but I couldn’t sleep as it was so hot. Also pan au chocolat were left for breakfast and porridge pots but our pan au chocolat were out of date.

A good alternative to staying in Halifax for us while visiting family. Clean and comfy room with a modern feel and easy contact-free checkin/out. Has parking, but we were car free so used local taxis for the most part to/from Sowerby Bridge centre (£10 each way) and also walked a few times (be aware, quite a steep but enjoyable climb, takes around 25 mins). Nice quiet surroundings and good views over the Calderdale valley.
Although no on-site amenities now (shop/cafe/restaurant/bar) we appreciated the in-room tea/coffee and the mini toiletries. Only suggestion for improvement could be some sort of general vending machine of drinks/light snacks ?
Overall a good find and would use again.

Lovely room with great facilities and sparkling en suite. Helpful staff and great little balcony with view of the valley. A lovely stay!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The place was clean, the bed was super comfy and the shower pressure was excellent.
Parking was super convenient and view in the mornign was lovely.

Excellent property with everything you could wish for! Lovely spacious room which was extremely clean. Comfy bed plus we were lucky enough to have a room with a little balcony. Short walk into the town which had plenty to offer. Will definitely check availability if we're back in the area.

This is our third stay at the new hobbit. Communication is always great, offering early check in and check out if able. Perfect location for access to Halifax and piece hall and sowerby bridge itself. Very easy to get Uber pick up and drop off. Spotlessly clean with beautiful furnishings and a gorgeous view. Little extras like chilled water in the fridge, plenty of tea and coffee as well as the porridge pot and croissant for breakfast. Wonderful!

Nice clean room with everything you need. Room was very warm and not much ventilation. Location is interesting, amazing views but it is high on a hillside. So an easy walk down to the town but a bit of a hike back. Overall happy with our stay and would visit again.

It wasn’t bad but I think there should be a caveat that it’s at the top of a hill and can only be accessed by car.

What a little Gem this place is. Immaculately clean. Beautiful room, with everything you need. Easy check in. Communication was great. Was even given a txt an hour before our check in time to say room was ready. We will definitely be back!

What a lovely little place , very clean and welcoming. Room was warm but a standing fan was in room. Self check in went very well. We arrive late at night but I had already got the details we needed by text message. Had a dog who settled very well for her 1st night away from home. Only downside if you are walking the hill to hotel is like a mountain 😂 made us all ready for a good nights sleep 😴

Used accommodation to attend a concert at The Piece Gall in Halifax (30mins away by taxi).
Clean modern room, kettle and mini fridge.
Porridge and pain au chocolat provided for breakfast.
Simple instructions provided to get the room key.

Lovely room, well equipped, spotless, great views.

Lovely little place to stay unfortunately the cleaning let this down on this stay. I have atayed here multiple times for business, its quite, comfortable and out the way. No restaurant on site.

Now we come to the issue of cleaning. The fridge in the room was a nice touch with bottled water but its stank like it hadnt been cleaned in months. Shower had hair from previous patron, and the desk still had sticky cup marks on it.

I will have to give careful consideration when booking around this area in future.
