Location and old heritage feel
Breakfast
The location of this property is excellent. The hotel is 100+ years old so keep that in mind regarding the facilities and feel. Considering that this is still a family owned property - the upkeep has been excellent. Loved the room as well. Spacious for Mumbai standards.
There should be a clarity that harbour rooms do not have lift access. We did manage to change to another room and that room more than met our requirements/expectations.
The breakfast spread could also be a bit larger/diverse.
Old world colonial charm,
Great location just off the main area , but very quiet in the evenings and early morning
Perfect spot to see colabra and south central Mumbai
Our room was near the lift shaft and it was a bit noisy
Location
The Lift
It’s just in a good location
The staff was rude and not understanding
I liked the hotel and I'll recommend it.
However, I forgot a little t-shirt (white) in the room. As I cannot come back to Mumbai, I'd like to know if the hotel can send to my residence the t-shirt, if possible.
I will be in New Delhi till July 22 and after that I'm going to home.
Thanks.
ps. After some days, finally I can say that I received the t-shirt because the hotel sent me via courier. Excelent service. Thanks a lot!
Location is good
Expensive
Extraordinary Location in the commercial Heart of Old British Bombay and Modern Mumbai too. Everything can be reached by walk. Looking very much forward for my next visit in the next days.
Good property very hygiene
Vintage
Excellent location near Fort. I stayed twice; in a top floor room with terrace and then in an Executive room. I preferred the first as it had hot water at all times and was quiet. Basic but plentiful breakfast. Mr Shyam is a gentleman who embodies the values of good hospitality and he goes out of his way to ensure a comfortable stay. The hotel has character, charm and many original features. It’s a lovely area for a walk. Until the last evening, the hotel felt like a place to relax after the hustle of Mumbai.
The night duty manager, Roshan, was unhelpful when the group of young males in the room next door kept shouting and screaming till after 1am. To me, it sounded like a fight. I eventually managed to get my room changed but had very little sleep. Horrible last night in India. Although the day staff are lovely, it felt unsafe at night because of Roshan’s attitude. Sadly, I don’t think I’d stay again.
The location.
The washrooms need to be upgraded in terms of sanitary fittings.
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is away from the busy city crowds, making it a peaceful and quiet place to relax. The buffet breakfast was good—while it didn't offer a huge variety, the food was tasty and filling. The staff were friendly, courteous, and always willing to help, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, it's a great choice for anyone looking for a calm and comfortable stay
The bathroom could have been a little more cleaner, and the mattress was a bit too soft, which caused a slight backache. Although the room had a balcony, it wasn't very usable because the window AC unit was installed there, limiting the space and comfort. Other than these minor points, the overall experience was pleasant.
Staff very kind, and careful. The building is a piece of history.
We had countless problems. Wifi is almost non existant, you need to call reception to get hot water (there is no way to turn on the boiler from the rooms) every time you want to take a shower, we got assigned twin rooms even if we requested double beds, and the restaurant took an hour to serve us.
The staff handled the issues kidndly, but did not solve them.
Extremely expensive for the service provided.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location.
