Hampton Inn near the airport in Salem is excellent
Pros:

i asked for a room near the lobby during my booking but the clerk didn't notice it and gave me a room on the 2nd floor and when I asked about it she apologized right away and upgraded the room and gave me a room on the ground floor at no extra charge, no questions asked. Very pleasant.

Very nice experience, Clean and felt safe.
Pros:

The location was perfect for what I needed to do while in Salem. When I booked I asked for a room close the lobby but when I checked in the clerk gave me a room on the 2nd floor at the far end. I asked the clerk about it and she immediately "upgraded" me to a room on the 1st floor and a king suite room to boot. She was so very nice, I believe her name was Jennifer (?). The room had all the amenities needed. The soaps and lotion and gel are mounted on the wall. I did have trouble finding the USB ports, they're on the device that says wireless charging. I just didn't see them right away. The bed was firm. They have a choice of 2 different softness of pillows. The place is quiet. They have a mini store where you can get microwave meals and snacks and other assorted items. I didn't partake of the breakfast but I did grab a few bananas. The parking was free. The room, all of the areas, were very clean. I would recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay in Salem, OR.

Nice for all
Pros:

Nice hotel, not right off freeway but close enough. Room was nice, service good, breakfast, my kids did not like, they would not eat their breakfast after the second day, but would recommend.
