Pros:

The staff was friendly

Cons:

The shower wasn't cleaned before we arrive, I found long black hair in shower drain, mirror in the lift hade a picture of penis on it, stay was a bit expensive for value.
we have stay in hotel before and it was much better, but it was before the IHG toke it.

Perfect location, great bar area, dirty room.
Pros:

The first thing i noticed when we walked into reception, was the gorgeous smell. Was a very pleasant and luxurious scent. The lobby and bar areas were decorated tastefully and trendy. Check was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. Location was perfect, absolutely in the heart for where we needed to be. Minutes from the train station too.

Cons:

Our room was a balcony room, 408. It was dirty. Having frequently stayed in other hotels around Newcastle, I was really disappointed with the cleanliness or rather lack of in this room. Pubic hair on the toilet seat and a dark curly hair on the bed. There was spilled liquid in the mini-fridge, and on the floor underneath where it is housed, having obviously leaked into the wardrobe and onto the wood flooring. The bed (apart from the hair I removed) sheets were clean enough, with little staining. The carpet area wasn’t hoovered well, dressing table was dusty, the flooring was dirty, as well as in the shower and bathroom sink not being the clean. We didn’t use the coffee machine either as the water jug was disgusting. Because we were in Town for a boozy evening out, and to use the room only as a base, my husband managed to encourage me to relax about the cleaning. It was grubby and tired. Certainty wasn’t to my standard of clean, and for that we’d not stay in this hotel again. My OCD wouldn’t allow it. Such a shame as this hotel had the potential to be our new favourite.
