The good and the bad
Pros:

The host was really nice, the hotel was affordable and in great location to walk to local food markets. The AC and fan get the room cold and have plenty of hot water. The hotel has a great view of MAHA tower.

Cons:

Unfortunately, it is by a busy street and a mosque, so it gets loud. There is a bunch of trash in front of the building, and beside it. The room could use some paint.

Pros:

Mamak is a 3-minute walk across from Hotel Asia, super close to the jetty pier and Saturday night market. Water station to refill bottles is much appreciated.

Pros:

Friendly staff

Cons:

The bed was uncomfortably hard, and I could feel the springs. There was no access to the air conditioner as they didn't provide a remote. The water heater was unreliable, failing to produce hot water even when set to the maximum temperature. The room had an unpleasant odor that bothered my nose. The only mirror was located in the bathroom, and the blanket provided was very thin. The air conditioning vent blew directly onto the bed, which was uncomfortable. The room I booked didn't have a window, resulting in an unpleasant smell in the bedding and blanket.
